  1. What makes you think the Tigers were better last year than this year? Or is it that you would like it for Silsbee to have been better last year than this year just so it could make the Horns look better last year and to give you some hope for this year?
  2. This has got to be UNLV's greatest post ever. The $1 billion hush money is an excellant idea. Bluedove, care to answer any of UNLV's questions.
  3. First of all, ask sislbee? The only reason that Silsbee lost is bc their QB is not smart enough to kneel the ball. I promise that won't happen. I take offense to you saying that. I don't think it's right for you to question Jeremy's intelligence based on that one play. I think you'll find out soon enough just how "unintelligent" Silsbee's QB is when the Tigers face the Horns. It'll be a real shame when HF loses to that "kind" of team. BTW, WOS takes this one with ease. WOS 42 HF 12 Now let's not get our PANTIES IN A KNOT. I was just stating that in that kind of situation, the QB (central brain of the offense) should be a little bit more focused on what he is doing. I feel sorry for the Tigers knowing that they would have beat A TEAM THAT HAS NEVER LOST A 3A DISTRICT GAME, if the QB was thinking about what he needed to do. You can keep trying to explain away your comment but you made a direct reference to the intelligence of the Silsbee quarterback without knowing what you were talking about. Remember your kneel comment? Well it was the kneel down that we did not want. So you could not have been up on play. You have either never been an athlete, never been in the heat of a critical game situation or have never been 16 or 17 years old. This could have happened to anyone. It just so happened to a good young athlete and a good young man. It would be best if you just apologized to the young man and quit with the explanations that don't hold up. First of all, I meant to say spike instead of kneel. (I guess I wasn't focused) Second of all, I am 18 so I guess by the traditional system I HAVE been "16 or 17 years old". Third of all, I have been in the "heat of a critical game situation". Remember last week? Bobcats-Longhorns? Doesn't that ring a bell. H-F What position you play? Doesn't matter Does it? Why doesn't it matter? You "say" you were in the "heat" of a critical game, just wondering what position you played?
  4. Just curious, In your playoff scenario, You are assuming Lumberton looses to Nederland & PNG?? And furthermore you ASSume that PNG beats Ozen, Vidor, & Central?? You know what they say about assuming stuff. No I never ASSumed anything. I predicted as the title says. You Lumberton fans are so sensitive! Assume - to take to be true without proof. Predict - to foretell something; prophesy. Raiders will win the district and will never lose another game...Ever. Becasue their fans take it to be true without proof! : Get over yourselves. You had one very good season, not great, but very good and you get your panties in a wad if someone doesn't pick your beloved Raiders to win it all! I love this. Great comeback!!

  6. I am glad to see that you can hang your hat on something that happened last year TigerDad, I agree with you 100% that what happened last year means absolutely nothing this year, but usually when, say in college, a team wins a big game, does that constitute a "year of bragging rights" until the two meet again when redemtion can be taken?? Let those that choose to gloat about last year have their scoreboard victory for just a few more weeks, but don't let it get you worked up, your Tigers will get their shot. BTW, has it been raining down that way by any chance? ;D Down which way?

I feel sorry for the Tigers knowing that they would have beat A TEAM THAT HAS NEVER LOST A 3A DISTRICT GAME, if the QB was thinking about what he needed to do. TD said it right. It was how you said it. You came off claiming that Johnson wasn't smart enough, questioning his intelligence. If you would have said that he may have panicked, lost his focus in all the confusion, and made a huge mistake, that would be a fair assessment, particularly with you not even being at the game. But you use the term "not smart enough" which is completely unfair and inaccurrate. To me, that's a low blow to this high school player who has proven that he is "smart enough" and he will make up for mistakes. See, I gave you the benefit of the doubt that you were "smart enough" to see your mistake and correct it. We all make mistakes, some larger than others. Where intelligence comes into play is if someone continues to make those same mistakes. Then you can claim someone isn't "smart enough".
  8. i think they need to win 2 more (there has been some bad luck in those 23 years)....if we only win one more there is a possibilty that Lee, Sterling, and PAM end up in a 3 way tie and we lose a coin flip or something...winning 3 assures we are in... Correct me if I am wrong, but if Sterling ends up in a three way tie with two teams that they have already beaten, they will advance along with whoever won the game between Lee and Memorial. It's all about head to head. Now if PAM beats you, that's a whole different story.

  10. Yes I will be. I am going to the girls volleyball game first then hopefully meet Bobkat at his tailgating party. He has food, that's where I will will be, ask Poppabearstar. Come join us. Is Poppa coming to see you? No, me and him like to pump up the girls basketball forum. My daughter is KK Little she was a senior on the Orangefield team last year. Girls basketball between HJ and Orangefield is very intense. But the parents are all friends. We have all known each other since the kids were in little dribbler's. I know that Poppa and I like food. I graduated with the Sup, the principal and my brother in law is the JV hoop coach so I may be coming with them. May try to hook up with you!!! Good luck!!!! Sure would love to see WOS, HJ and O'Field make the playoffs!!!! ;D ;D ;D What, no love for my Tigers, Lazeek? You disappoint me. It's okay, Silsbee don't need the love, they'll make the playoffs on their own. ;D
  11. You have totally missed the point that badndn was making and that I explained. If you will look again, he has 3 teams tieing for the 3rd and 4th spots. He has Ned and Central 1st and 2nd, then he has PNG, Lumberton, and Livingston tieing for 3rd and 4th with 4-3 records, each going 1-1 against one another. That's when you will have to use the point system that we are talking about. Yes, you are correct in that if you only have 4 teams that qualify, you simply use the enrollment, records, and head to head and yes, the point system is not used for the seeding, only for qualifying. But in this scenario, you will have Ned and Central going Div.1 because of enrollment, with Ned being the #1 seed, Central #2, and then you would have to use the points system to declare which 2 teams go to the playoffs out of the three that are tied, Lumberton, Livingston, and PNG. Now do you understand?
  12. I'll wait till the schedules are released before I post mine but I always can go with the Silsbee-HJ game.
  13. Yes, head to head is the proper call. But, if you'll notice WTB, badndn has it where there will be a three way tie for that third and fourth spot, with each of those teams 1-1 against the other. That's when they'll have to use the point system like he is referring to. After that tiebreaker, then the two teams left will be put in either Div 1 or 2 and either the 1st or 2nd seeds, all depending on enrollment and record, head to head. In this particular scenario, both these teams would go Div.2, since Nederland and Central are the district's top enrollments.

  15. Central HAS to make this a defensive struggle. They cannot get into a shootout with Nederland. If Central can keep it low scoring, the Jags win. Central 13 Nederland 10
  16. I believe this is why Arrow left, knew what he had done and saw the ramifications coming. Lamar doesn't need someone like that.
  17. I believe he is speaking of Gladewater-Sabine, not Sabine Pass.
  18. Is that a pot shot at the competition level of our tournament. This tournament is very strong in competition. Surely you are aware of the level of competition that Aransas Pass and Gladewater Sabine will bring....along with the other teams? The only rolling over in this area will be done by Silsbee. No, wasn't meant to be a pot shot. I just think that HJ will be the superior team in this tournament. Maybe roll over was too strong a term, but that's how I see it.
  19. I honestly don't see how you come up with 28-0. The long pass play you are talking about was at the end of the game to set up what could have been the game winning field goal. We know what happened there. Silsbee scored on a 15 yard crossing pattern in the 2nd qtr. that the reciever ran in the last 15 yards or so. No long pass play there. Were you even at the game? : WOS had 1 td called back, not 3. To state they WOULD have scored is just not accurate, not the way the Tigers defense was playing. Would've,should've,could've. WOS 14 Silsbee 7 in OT. We were lucky to get a gift from Silsbee. Maybe we should accept it as that and move on to this week. I agree td. WOS, like Coach Hooks said on our preview show last night, was very fortunate to get that win. Sometimes you win when you maybe don't deserve it and sometimes you lose. Time to focus on the next game.
  20. "Silsbee broadcaster files suit on WOSCISD for fall at DR Hooks stadium" (would take a forfeit of game) "Cardinals devoured by angry Tigers, then make sizeable donation to BC community" "Orange Leader sportswriter and Silsbee broadcaster finally meet after having done show together for past 2 years" and Sunday morning headlines: "Shocking development in Aggieland, A&M takes down Texas Tech, 10-3" ;D
