  1. Still to be played in BC, as far as I know. This game won't be pretty. I look for some angry Tigers to come in and take some frustration out on the Cards. I know BC is not deserving of a beat down, I feel this game will be over by halftime. Silsbee is ready to bust out. Silsbee 49 BC 7
  2. I honestly don't see how you come up with 28-0. The long pass play you are talking about was at the end of the game to set up what could have been the game winning field goal. We know what happened there. Silsbee scored on a 15 yard crossing pattern in the 2nd qtr. that the reciever ran in the last 15 yards or so. No long pass play there. Were you even at the game? : WOS had 1 td called back, not 3. To state they WOULD have scored is just not accurate, not the way the Tigers defense was playing.
  3. All teams that HJ should roll over. Maybe except for Kingwood Park, they'll be tough, but still no seniors on this team, just juniors and soph. This team played varsity last year with just soph. and fresh., made the playoffs and gave Silsbee a little bit of a scare in the first round.
  4. I'll agree with that. I'll let you figure out what part of your post I agree with.
  5. You must know my wife, she claims the same thing about my skull. ;D (btw, my wife teaches in Lumberton) I have the up most respect for Coach C and what he has done there at Lumberton. Personally don't think anyone else could have done such a good job in such a short time. He is definetly the right man for that school. I still say that you can't put him amongst the best ones just yet, but he'll be there in time.
  6. Depends on what poll you look at. They are #1 in Massey, #2 in Harris, #3 in AP.
  7. My take on these two districts is simple. 22-2A is very top heavy, with Kirbyville and Newton, the rest not so good. 23-2A doesn't have that cow bell team, no dominate team whatsoever. But what they do have is 6 teams that are pretty evenly matched and this will lead to a great district race for those coveted 3 playoff spots. 22-2A champ will be decided in week 10 between Kirbyville and Newton, the rest will play for third. 23-2A district champ will go down to that last week as well, but look for as many as 4 teams in the running for that spot. I look for this district to come down to a tiebreaker to decide on a couple of these playoff spots. right now, I would give Buna the inside position to be district champ.
  8. It looks as so most folks have Nederland favored this week over Central. Therefore that would be my upset special, as I am picking Central over Nederland. (it's not considered an upset to me as I picked Central to win district this year ;D)
  9. I don't think that would be considered an upset or at least not much of one.
  10. 1. Nederland @ Central 2. West Hardin @ High Island 3. Dayton @ Barbers Hill 4. Baytown Lee @ West Brook 5. PA Memorial @ Sterling 6. PNG @ Vidor 7. Ozen @ Lumberton 8. LCM @ Livingston 9. Huntington @ Jasper 10. WOS @ Hamshire Fannett 11. Silsbee @ Bridge City 12. Hardin Jefferson @ Orangfield 13. Hemphill @ Kirbyville 14. San Augustine @ Newton 15. Woodville @ Shelbyville 16. East Chambers @ Anahuac 17. Warren @ Deweyville 18. Kountze @ Hardin 19. Burkeville @ Evadale 20. Hull Daisetta @ Chester 21. Sabine Pass @ Colmesneil
  11. Thanks for the props, WOS87. Nice to here that coming from a Stang fan. Since these two teams dropped down to 3A, I thought the Tigers matched up well against the Mustangs. To me it's just been that WOS has made one or two more plays each game that's gotten them the win. Maybe except for this last one, where it took a major blunder by the Tigers at the end of regulation to allow the Mustangs to sneak out of there with a win. I am not so sure about the Navasota thing, we'll have to play our very best to pull that one out. I will say that I believe that the rest of our district opponents better look out, there's some angry Tigers on the prowl.
  12. He may not call all the plays, but I bet he backs up all of them. The final decision goes through him.
  13. I think it's a bit early to be putting Coach C in with the Hooks, Neumans and the Barbays. Give him a few more years and then I think it would be a fair assessment. Right now, it's okay to overlook him.
  14. Correct. Of the 4 teams that qualify for the playoffs, you take the two largest enrollments of those four go Div.1, the two smallest of those four go Div.2. That's for 5A and 4A. For 3A and below, of the three teams that qualify, the largest enrollment of the three goes Div.1 and the other two go Div.2. In either case, it doesn't matter how they finish as to what division they play in.
  15. To me this whole thread is senseless. Comparing games is just plain stupid. It's all about the matchups. Some teams just have an advantage over others. Contrast of styles, the type of team, type of athletes, whatever you want to call it. Some teams just match up better and some teams don't.
  16. Hey skip, just what do you mean by "the mustangs just let them"?
  17. Kind of agree with you, Lazeek. Livingston should be ahead of PNG after beating the Indians by 20 points. No fluke win there and the Lions are 2-1 in district.
  18. If we are going to do that, then I say Silsbee's entire defense. Held WOS to their lowest offensive output both yards(228) and points 14(7 of that in OT) so far this season. I am also willing to bet that will be their lowest totals for the whole season, including the playoffs. WOS was averaging 36 points and 380 yards of offense coming into that game.
  19. I'll nominate Silsbee strong safety Josh James again. After recording 17 tackles, with 11 of them unassisted last week against Jasper, he promptly trumped that with 18 tackles, 14 unassisted against WOS. Mustang fans would have to agree, Silsbee's #20 was all over the place.
  20. I still believe in the end it will be: 1. WOS 2. Silsbee 3. HF Though HJ has now gotten my attention, could replace HF in the third spot.
  21. I believe that to be a very fair and honest assessment. Kudos to you WOS92.
  22. UIL has already approved him to play this season!!!! ;D Lazeek, please tell me what this is all about. What was the deal with Benard? Why did the coaches have to vote on him playing? Why was the UIL involved?
