  2. I guess my logical ways are starting to rub off on you, Gabe. ;D You are correct in asking what's the good in moving the games up. If anything they should be pushed back or not played at all.
  3. Explain to me how missing one non district game could hurt a teams chances of making the playoffs. As for the baseball comparison, thats apples and oranges. Football much more difficult to change than baseball.
  4. I am thinking the same way, scooter. Why not move them back? That way, it would give more time to evaluate the sitiuation. It would be just like last week. If it doesn't pose a threat, then you got time to play the games. Moving them up only creates more havic. Plus, you wouldn't have to worry about the UIL 5 day rule.
  5. Correct. I believe the UIL could agree to pass a waiver to the 5 day rule under these circumstances, but I don't see it happening. The UIL would see that none of these games would have nothing to do with playoff status, and would question why it would be necessary to play them. With an impending storm and evac on the horizon, it just would be silly to push these games up.
  6. All of these games really mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. These are not district games so it's really not necessary to play them. Playing these games does nothing for a teams playoff status. I totally understood why the games last week were pushed back to enable them to be played. But I would not understand moving any up this week with what could be taking place here in our area. If there were a mandatory evac declared for Thursday morning, why on earth would anyone agree to play a Wednesday night game? Wouldn't most folks, including the coaches, players, officials, and volunteers be busy that night getting prepared to evac the next morning? C'mon folks, let's use a little common sense here.
  7. I will reserve my predictions for our preview show tonight.
  8. When you are coming off an 0-10 season, with several of those losses big blowout losses, you can never take anyone for granite. BC has to play hard every game. There is no team on their schedule that the Cards could handle with ease.
  9. Yea, Lazeek is my favorite HJ guy. He's just ahead of those Davis brothers. Good company.
  10. Actually, I would. Little bit of difference in H. Davis,Diboll and Cleveland, Woodville.
  11. Get by Silsbee????? They won at Regionals by a large margin, but if you remember they beat Silsbee in the Montagne by about 40!!!! Both teams are very good and either team could beat the other on any given night. Now c'mon Lazeek, let's not get too carried away here. Yes HJ won in the Montagne, but not by 40. Score was 74-52. This is all moot though, Tigers will go back to Austin for their redemption. ;D 22.....40 what's the difference!!!! Either way HJ came into the regional final over confident and it bit them in the biscuits!!!! I think the playoff game to determine seeding is a joke....flip a coin!!! It takes away from the potential for meeting down the road. However Lamar and Hoopinsider made a nice dime off of it!!! ;D Uh, 18. It's okay not knowing the difference, comes with the HJ education. ;D (you had to know that was coming) uuuuhhhhh!!!!! duuuuuhhhhhh!!! you posted 74-52!!!! That is 22!!!!!! Must be that northern Hardin county edumication in Silsbee!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Uhhhhhh!!!! Duhhhhh!! You really showing that great HJ ed. : You asked what the difference was of 22 and 40. It's 18.

  13. Yesterday set a new Setxsports.com member record with 53 new members registered. Thanks for making this site the best in our area and one of the tops in the state!!! Now over 7800 members in less than 3 years!! Incredible!!
  14. If they had gone for it on 4th and 2 and didn't make it, ya'll would be complaining, "Don't we have a field goal kicker this year? If we had kicked a field goal we would have put it out of reach!" That's just football. Sometimes things don't go your way. Kville made the play when they had to and Jasper didn't. NO JASPER PLAYED POWER FOOTBALL WITH ARMSTRONG THAT WHOLE DRIVER ITS TWO YARDS I WOULD LIKE FOR THEM SAY TO SAY HEY YOU HAVE NOT STOP US THIS WHOLE DRIVE AND YOU ARE NOT GOING TO NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bUT THEY WE FOR A FG. AND YEA HES A GOOD KICKER BUT NO THEY SHOULD HAVE GONE FOR IT THEY HAD K-VILLE ON THERE HEELS AT THAT TIME. No all CAPS please. : The woulda, coulda, shoulda's always seem to go undefeated. :

Beat me to the punch, Gasilla. ;D
  16. I guess if your team loses soundly like the Broncos did, the only thing to do is gripe about the parking. Got to knock Friendswood for something. ;D

  18. The Diboll/Silsbee broadcast will be going LIVE at 5:45 for pregame, 6:00 kickoff, and then about a 15-20 minute post game wrap up show afterwards. Mike Sanchez and Wayne Brasher will be your play-by-play and color commentators.
  19. This post is pathetic. Just shows what little you know. Newton has never ducked anyone, has played more teams with larger classifications than EC ever has, plus those teams were high quality teams( WOS, Silsbee, Jasper, PNG, ect.) I have never seen EC play anyone of that caliber. Obviously sour grapes here. :
  20. I guess the most suprising thing to me about this game, other than the fact that Dayton lost by 3 td's, is that Dayton's offense only scored one touchdown. The other two td's came from special teams and defense. Looks like the formula to beat these Broncos is to protect your QB and pass, pass, pass. Also, drop 7 in coverage and make Green run it.
  21. The Game that never would end!! After going 12 overtimes, a winner was finally declared in the LCM/WOS game. Coach Moody and Coach Hooks entered the Octogon, MMA style, and after a few ringside interferences( you know, the kind that the cameras never show on RAW and Smackdown ) Moody was ruled to have tapped out, giving Coach Hooks the win. Hey, he maybe 70, but he fights like he is 68. ;D
