  1. I thought about that also. It seems that they have more in common in student numbers with the smaller schools than the bigger ones. Good point.
  2. EXACTLY!!!! If we are going to continue covering Jasper, we should continue covering Dayton. Actually, Dayton is closer to Beaumont than Jasper and the district that Jasper is playing in is considered East Texas, not Southeast Texas. Dayton's district has more Southeast Texas teams than Jasper's district. Jasper will be the only team in their district that we will cover where as we will cover at least three teams in Dayton's district. As for the rankings, I think they are good, I mean it's just preseason, won't really know anything until after a few weeks of playing. I have never liked preseason rankings anyway. Even the college polls, I have always thought they should start them 4 to 5 weeks into the season, but that's just me. Only change I would make on these is to include Livingston in the big school poll, either somewhere in the top 10 or in the honorable mention spot.
  3. Okay, just got the lowdown with the Silsbee scrimmage for Saturday the 16th. It will be a 3 way scrimmage with Silsbee, Nederland and Kelly at Kelly. Scrimmage will start roughly at 9am Saturday morning. This straight from the coaches mouth.
  4. Lamar assistant football coach Craig McGallion is all too familiar with Donnie Little. Craig was a soph. starting linebacker for Silsbee when the Tigers went up against the Donnie Little led Dickinson Gators in the state semi finals in 1977 in the Astrodome. Donnie practically beat Silsbee by himself that night scoring both Gator td's, one on a 75 yard punt return, beating the Tigers 12-0 on their way to a state title that year. Dickinson beat Brownwood the next week for the title 41-20. Craig will tell you the Tigers had their chances that night, fumbling 3 times inside the Gator 10 yard line, once at the goalline, but could not answer Mr. Little. Well Craig, if we can't beat'em, might as well join'em.
  5. Curious to know if t.u. even knows that he is playing in this particular summer league or if they even care because they know he's not coming to their school. AGGIES, how have you been buddy? YOU know I wish I could comment, but...ARE you guys broadcasting FB season? SO, are you guys ready? Having Chad Cooper on here is the RIGHT thing for the board...I am now a casual observer!! ...See you guys around...Go get em Cooper 2!! ;D Got it Dicky, got it. Being that I am an Aggie, it took a minute or two, but I got the message.
  6. You asked for the top rb, we gave it to you. Now you want to change it so that a Mustang can get some love. Pathetic.
  7. LOL!! Coop, you've been called out. ;D
  8. This thread didn't even need to be started. Nobody is anywhere near Michaels of West Brook. He is hands down the best in this area. Could be the best in state.
  9. You could come broadcast a game of the week with me. On second thought, I'll take the Cooper that knows hoops with me. ;D
  10. Welcome aboard Chad!!! I know that with your knowledge and love for basketball it will only enhance this website to greater things. We definetly just upgraded.
  11. Curious to know if t.u. even knows that he is playing in this particular summer league or if they even care because they know he's not coming to their school.
  12. Did anything happen to the students that bought the steriods from him? Did they get busted too?
  13. So, with us already doing Silsbee, Lumberton, Kirbyville games and a BISD game of the week, that will have us broadcasting 6-7 games every Friday night. Fantastic!!!!!!
  14. Like I said, my post had nothing to do about the success of their season last year. Only about their numbers. Yes, I do remember the score.
  15. If WOS's JV is anything like last year's, they won't be able to scrimmage. They only had about 8 players on the JV, pulled most of the freshman up to play the JV game after the freshman game was played. Who won? And the point of your question? I was just pointing out that last year the Stangs did not field 2 complete teams for freshman and jv and IF that is the case this year, they would not be able to scrimmage the freshman and jv at the same time like it was posted earlier. That was all that I was pointing out. It had nothing to do with how successful they were. BTW, I know who won the one game I witnessed them play. Some of you Stang fans always get on the defensive. Geez. : Hmmm... From your reaction, I'm going to guess that WOS won. I didn't know. Since you couldn't just answer the question, I'm going to go ahead and add that I think it's pretty impressive that the WOS Freshman team beat the silsbee JV. And the point of my question was... Who won? Silsbee
  16. Good luck against Navasota in their 1st playoff game this season.... ;D Thanks, we will need it. :'(
  17. It would only be fair to post the 17-0 non-district win in 1998 against the same team if I were to do that... See stangchain, WOS87 got it. He's cool with it. BTW WOS87, in that particular year, we know which game was the important one. Before this gets into a you-know-what contest, you don't have to remind me how many wins my Tigers have over the Stangs, way way too few. But we are undefeated against WOS in the playoffs. ;D
  18. It was a joke to WOS87, who I know. That's why I put the smiley at the end. Quit wearing your feelings on your sleeves.
  19. Hey WOS87, when you going to post the video of WOS's 1998 first round playoff game?

  22. My wife and I are really going to miss Debbie. She was our son's teacher for the past several years and she did a super job. We wish her all the success in her new job.
  23. Looks like Coach Stewart's golf game was more important than Coach Hooks fishing trip.
  24. I could live with that list, maybe a couple of tweaks would do. I did not come up with a list simply because FOOTBALL hasn't even started yet and I haven't come up with that list yet. One thing at a time, no need to rush.
