I would not say that Kirbyville dominated, but they played better than what Silsbee did, that's for sure. Numbers for the game: Controlled scrimmage: Silsbee 1st team 15 plays 23 total yards, 1 first down Kirbyville 1st team 15 plays 79 total yards, 4 first downs, touchdown Silsbee 2nd team 15 plays 27 yards, 1 first down Kirbyville 1st team (Wildcats played 1st team against Silsbee's 2nd team defense) 79 total yards, 4 first downs, touchdown Silsbee 1st team 15 plays 66 yards, 4 first downs Kirbyville 1st team (some subs) 15 plays 24 yards, 2 first downs Final totals Silsbee  45 plays  116 yards  6 first downs  0 TD's Kirbyville 45 plays  182 yards  10 first downs  2 TD's I was very impressed with Kirbyville's offensive line. They controled the line of scrimmage. Silsbee has a lot to work on but it is very hard to come out in the first scrimmage and play a defense that blitzed probably 95% or more during the scrimmage. Tigers just weren't ready for that just yet.

Final numbers Dayton scored 24 points WOS scored 0 points Total offense Dayton had 306 total yards WOS had 104 total yards First downs Dayton  14 WOS       7 Dayton did have a 88 yard TD pass called back due to penalty, legit penalty, block in the back that happened right in front of me which cleared the way for the TD. Dayton shut down the run forcing WOS to pass just about every down. Dayton really looks good. I was impressed.

Well, I am going on record now as to say regardless of how any team (not just Silsbee) does in their respective scrimmages, there will be no "winners" and "losers" from Saturday's scrimmages. Now I agree that there will and should be some that will be very excited or very disappointed based on the performances of their teams in these scrimmages. Some will play well, some will not, for a multitude of reasons. But it will not result in a "win" or a "loss". Everyone should start getting some perspective on how their team will be. But claims of teams "winning" a scrimmage is just silly. Also, the ones that will say "had it been a real game, we would have won" are just as ridiculous. Let's let the scrimmages be just what they are, glorified practices. No more, no less.

Was told that the Silsbee/Kirbyville scrimmage will start at 10:30. Also heard that certain Kirbyville fans want this scrimmage to count as a game if they "win" but it never happened if they "lose". ;) ;D
