  1. Like clock work. Can always count on you for posting things like this.
  2. Attendance was 3286 according to the box score. Disappointing but not terrible. Well it was valentines, still a loud crowd though considering the occasion. Well, I took my wife to the game for Valentines, didn't everybody else? ;D I was dissappointed too with the attendance.
  3. Aggies I will take the Hawks and 10 for lunch!!!! ;D 10 and lunch, huh. Predicting one to win by 10 and giving 10 is two different things. I'll go heads up for a round of golf and lunch. I need a reason to get back on the links, I haven't seen my golf clubs in 3 months.
  4. In time??? The game is scheduled to start at 9:00 but more likely later, say 9:30.
  5. Skandar's new stadium domino theory into play already. Domino effect huh. Glad to know that Silsbee's Tiger Stadium started it all. ;D I think it classifies as a REAL stadium.
  6. Tonight's the night. Playoffs start with this game. Going to be an exciting game, I just know it.
  7. lets not forget AGGIESAREWE they are 3a come on now the teams in that district is almost as worst as ours.lol Silsbee played Ozen this year and it was one of Ozen's closer games, just an 8 point victory for the Panthers. It was Ozen's inside game that was the difference. Silsbee's backcourt actually outplayed Ozen's THAT night. I don't believe the classification means anything in regards to this.
  8. As most of you know, I am a Silsbee Tiger fan, but I am also the sites GOW broadcaster, so I have seen my share of backcourts this season. Even though I love the Howard-Robinson backcourt for the Tigers, I will have to give the edge to Johnson-Franks of Ozen, but just slightly. I like the size difference that the Ozen pair has over the Silsbee combo, '6"0 and '6"2 versus '5"9 and '5"6, and Franks has the wider range in shooting. As for heart and determination, Robinson is head and shoulders above them all. You can't go wrong with any of the pair.
  9. Actually, this is still the poll from 2-4-08. That is the date shown at the top of the polls. Also, all the teams have the same records that they did last week on the 4th. I believe that the 2-4-08 poll is going to be the last one until the state championships are over.
  10. Here's how our local district playoff scenarios look: 21-5A Key games: PAM @ Sterling Atascocita @ Kingwood West Brook @ Humble Starting with the real important ones, if PAM wins and Atascocita loses, PAM gets the 4th spot. If PAM loses and Atasc. wins, Atasc. gets 4th. If both teams win, they will be tied for 4th and will have to playoff. If both teams lose, then there will be a 3 way tie for 4th between PAM, Atasc. and Baytown Sterling. All would have split their head to heads and it will require a coin flip and playoff games. As for the top 3, if WB wins and Kingwood loses, WB will be 1st and Humble and Kingwood would be tied for second, needing a playoff. If WB loses and Kingwood wins, Humble and Kingwood tie for 1st and WB 3rd. If both WB and Kingwood win, Kingwood would be 1st by virtue of the district sweep over WB, WB would be 2nd, Humble 3rd. If both teams lose, Humble will be 1st, Kindwood 2nd ( sweep ) and WB 3rd. 21-4A Smiley and Crosby have wrapped up 1st and 2nd. Barbers Hill and C.E. King will have to win their games Tuesday night to force a playoff game for 3rd. If both lose, same scenario. If one wins and the other loses, the winner will have the 3rd spot and advance to the playoffs. 22-4A Key games: Ozen @ Dayton LCM @ PNG Nederland @ Central Ozen has clinched another district championship, the rest is yet to be determined. Central can clinch 2nd with a win or a Dayton loss. A Central loss coupled with a Dayton win will create a tie for 2nd, will then need to playoff for 2nd and 3rd. Dayton gets in by winning or a LCM loss, but a loss by Dayton along with a win by LCM and they will be tied for that last playoff spot. They will then need to playoff for 3rd. 21-3A Key game: Orangefield @ Jasper Silsbee and Hardin-Jefferson have clinched playoff spots. With both expected to win Monday, they will playoff Friday night to determine 1st and 2nd, but both will be declared Co-District Champions. Jasper gets the 3rd spot with a win. Orangefield needs to beat Jasper to force a tie for 3rd and force a playoff with the Dawgs for that final spot. 23-2A Teams have clinched, Newton is first, followed by Corrigan and Woden. 24-2A Key games: Warren @ Kountze Deweyville @ Hardin East Chambers, Hardin and Kountze have all clinched playoff spots. East Chambers has clinched at least a tie for 1st. If Kountze loses, EC will be district champs. If Kountze wins, EC and Kountze will playoff Friday night for 1st and 2nd, will be co-champs. If Kountze loses coupled with a Hardin win, then these two team will playoff for 2nd and 3rd. If Hardin loses, Kountze clinches at least 2nd regardless if they win or lose. Hardin is in regardless of a win or loss. 24-1A Key games: Big Sandy @ Hull-Daisetta Sabine Pass @ Spurger Big Sandy, Hull-Daisetta and Spurger have all clinched playoff spots. A Big Sandy win will give them the district title. A Hull-Daisetta win will force at least a tie with Big Sandy for 1st. But, if Spurger wins, there will be a 3 way tie for 1st. A Hull-Daisetta loss along with a Spurger win gives Spurger the 2nd spot, HD would be 3rd. If both HD and Spurger lose, then they will playoff for 2nd and 3rd. Out of all 7 of our local districts, we could see as many as 9 district playoff games between them. What a way to close out the regular season and into the playoffs!!
  11. I will be in Jasper Tuesday night bringing you the broadcast of the Orangefield-Jasper game as our Setxsports Game of the Week. This is a very important game as Orangefield has to win to force a tie with Jasper for that coveted third place spot. If Jasper wins, they advance to the playoffs. This will have a playoff atmosphere for sure and you don't want to miss it. Plan on being there or listen to it live here on Setxsports. I am looking forward to ANOTHER great game to broadcast!!! See you there.
  12. I predicted a 17 point win for the Tigers, but 33, WOW!! I did get the Silsbee score right,66, just had the Bobcats at 49. Silsbee is definetly playing the best of the district right now.
  13. Looks like a lot of people missed the boat on this one. Tigers roll, 66-33.
  14. Is Silsbee the other game, Coop? I had heard they moved their's up but did not know if it was confirmed. You know, this may put a kink in our Preview Show.
  15. Any possible way??? I wouldn't look past my Tigers from Silsbee. ;D
  16. Coach Williams and Coach Sutherland have agreed to play Friday night the 15th at the Montagne IF it is needed for them to playoff for first place in district. If one of the two were to lose a game before then, then they would not play but could play a warmup game against different opponents. The boys playoff games will start on Tuesday night, the 19th with all district champions getting a bye for this round. Their first game will be Friday, the 22nd. Hope this clears things up.
  17. I'll be in Bruin Country bringing you the Setxsports.com GOW broadcast. It'll be the 21-5A rivals PA Memorial Titans taking on the Bruins of Bmt. West Brook. This a must win game for the Titans in order to keep theri playoff hopes alive. West Brook also would need to win to stay in that district title race. Should be a great matchup and another fantastic broadcast for Setxsports. C'mon out and join me!!
  18. I sent you a pm, needing to know some info first before I decide which game I will be doing.
  19. First off, let me say it was a pleasure getting to meet BMTSoulja1 and Shorttexas1, always enjoy getting to put faces with the names. I just wish it could have been a better night for your Jaguars. Secondly, I appreciate your kind words and also the hospitality showed to me by the Ozen High administration, I enjoyed coming back to the ole Hebert campus, brought back memories. I hope to be back again. As for the game, not much else for me to say, Soulja hit the nail on the head. The guard play by Ozen was the difference. After the multiple steals and turnovers the Jags committed in the 3rd and early 4th quarters, Central seemed to give up and the game got out of hand. Props to Breon Johnson of Ozen!!! Most people talk about Franks, Joseph, and Jefferson when they speak of the Panthers, but this PG runs the show, IMO. To me, he is their most valuable player. He played an excellant game last night, I was very impressed. Congrats to the Panthers of Ozen High, district champs once again! Heads up Jaguars, there is still plenty to play for.
