  1. What I see happening is, with 2 of the Baytown schools dropping down to 4A and the possibility of Channelview going back to 4A , the UIL will have to consider one of these two districts to be a 10 team district. The UIL doesn't like odd numbered districts. 21-4A Barbers Hill C.E. King Galena Park Forest Brook Crosby Channelview Smiley Baytown Lee Baytown Memorial Huffman 22-4A Dayton LCM PNG Ozen Central Vidor Lumberton Nederland That leaves Dayton and Barbers Hill as the swing teams. You could leave Dayton and Barbers Hill right where they are and 21-4A would be the 10 team district or you could move Barbers Hill and Huffman to 22-4A and make that district the 10 team district. Everything depends on where the 2 Baytown schools end up enrollment wise and if Channelview does go back down.
  2. This is sad. You lose to a winless team that has already lost to a conference rival by 24. Also, the loss to UNO looms even larger than it was. Some were saying how that loss wasn't that bad, that UNO is a good team. But UNO loses to Nichols State last night. This doesn't look good for the Cards. BTW, it's NIU, not UNI. UNI is University of Northern Iowa.
  3. Silsbee will have most of their skill players back but do lose the entire offensive line and half the defensive line. Tigers will have all their linebackers back but will have to replace 3 of the 4 definsive backs. Silsbee loses their best 2 recievers but will have a couple of good ones returning. IMO, Silsbee will have the best player in the district returning for another 2 years and that will be something to build on.
  4. stang4life, I couldn't have said that any better, great post. I thank you for your comments.
  5. The rules were established when this site was first put online. One of those rules is no bashing of players or coaches. When one registers on this site, you agree to abide by these rules. If you have a problem with the rules now, why didn't you have a problem with them when you registered? I believe I can speak for the owner of this site in that not only do we want the best for the fans, but we also need to have good repore with the local coaches so that we can have a more enhanced site for the fans.
  6. I wouldn't go as far as saying the WHOLE team is back. When you lose players the caliber of D. Garrett and R. Dennis, among a few others, you'll suffer some getting some replacements for them. I am sure the Mustangs will be loaded again next year.
  7. Actually, the AP All State teams are based only on the 10 regular season games. They have been doing it that way for decades because it would be easier to vote on production of equal amount of games. Now, the coaches and magazine all state teams consider playoff games.
  8. Trust me guys, the next head coach at Lamar will not be a high school coach. There will probably be a couple of high school coaches to be hired as assistants, but the next head will be a former or current college head or assistant coach.
  9. No high school coach will be named the next head coach at Lamar, trust me. Now there will be some high school coaches hired to be assistants. Dan Hooks will not leave WOS to be an assistant at Lamar.
  10. You are correct Raider88, Silsbee did lose to LaMarque in the Dome in '98. But you are wrong about the Dayton game. Dayton lost to LaMarque the week before in the regional semis. Silsbee played LaMarque in the regional final. As for the Lumberton-Silsbee series, Lumberton has a current 4 game win streak over the Tigers. The Raiders won in 2000,2001,2002,and 2003. Their other win was in 1984. Silsbee leads the all time series 15-5. They started playing each other in 1978. As for blowing them out last time, that is wrong too. The last 2 games were 18-16 and 24-16, far from blow outs.
  11. I said this last year, and I'll say it again. I'm just not that impressed with Coach Roc's game coaching ability. His x's and o's are just not that good. He may be one great recruiter and a good practice coach, but his in game decision making really lacks. I gave him a pass last year being it his first year as a head and also not having the right personel, no pg. But this team on paper is more talented than last year's and he can't seem to get them in the right spots. It's still early, but the first scene of this 3 act play stinks. Let's hope there is a happy ending.
  12. Folks, let's get something straight. The UIL has nothing to do with what stadiums teams play in. The coaches from each school lineup the stadiums. Kirbyville and China Spring was fortunate enough to get Kyle Field. I hear that the coach at China Spring has a little connection at Texas A&M, so that may have helped. As for Lumberton having to play at Deer Park, that was what was left after they couldn't get Rice Stadium. Both coaches had to agree on the same site, which ended up being Deer Park. The UIL has no decision in this.
  13. I just heard a weird noise and can no longer hear the show. It sounded like Jordan and Gabe were abducted by aliens. Let's hope they are all right.
  14. I will be shocked if anyone scores 35 on WOS. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Mustangs can't be beat. But I just don't see anyone scoring 35 on that Mustang defense. If WOS loses to anyone, it will be by a score of 20-17 or something like that.
  15. Coach Credeur will be on the Setxsports Preview show tonight. Show starts at 8:30, coach will be on around 9:15. Will be taking callers after that. Tune in! [Hidden Content]
  16. Speaking of Cody, how is he doing? How is his rehibilatation coming along? It's ashame he will miss basketball too, he is a darn good basketball player also.
  17. Hold on there Raider88. Even though I am along for the ride with the L-Train and loving every minute of it btw, I am still a Silsbee Tiger fan first and foremost. To say the Tigers choked in that regional final game with LaMarque in '98 is not true. Yes, Silsbee fumbled a couple of times down near the goaline, but the breaks just went LaMarque's way that night, that's football. I thought they were two evenly matched teams and mistakes, either forced or unforced, would determine the outcome. Tigers lost that game 21-12, but depending on how the ball bounced, that could have been a Tiger win or it could have been a bigger loss than it was. That's the breaks, I saw no choking from where I was sitting.
  18. First off ST4LIFE, in your original post on this thread, you stated that LaMarque was weak and that Lumberton hasn't played anybody good yet. You never compared this year's LaMarque team to some of the LaMarque teams of the past. You don't make the playoffs and then advance to the second round by being weak. Everyone that advanced in the playoffs are good teams. You making those stupid comments is why I am convinced that you did not have a clue what you were talking about. Is this years LaMarque team as good as some of those in the past? No, but that does not make them weak. You don't beat some of the teams they played this year by being weak. It's obvious that you are only trying to rain on Lumberton's parade. Next time, state that you are comparing the teams, don't just make a general statement that they are weak, because that is far from the truth. It makes you look stupid, if that isn"t the case already.
  19. Spell check? What is that? lol I don't have a clue.
  20. I was disputing your comments about you saying that LaMarque was weak and that Lumberton hasn't played a good team yet. Those kind of comments lead one to believe that you don't know what you are talking about. Besides, nobody was talking about who was going to win state.
