  1. Yea, I just don't get it. In the 3 years that Silsbee has been in 3A, they have made it to the regional finals twice, losing to Diboll 56-55 in '04 and losing in overtime last year to state champ HJ. Everyone said that was really the state championship game. You would think the Tigers would come in somewhere in the top 10, much less the top 25. Like you said Jay, no respect.
  2. Any top 25 3A poll that doesn't include Silsbee is a joke. Silsbee year in and year out would beat at least half of those teams.
  3. Silsbee Jeremy Johnson qb soph Chris Barnes rb soph Lataron Barnes lb soph Rahkeem Bolton lb soph
  4. If Silsbee stays in a 8 team district, then: Dayton LC-M Lumberton If they go back to a 6 team district, then: Dayton LC-M Lumberton Newton Kountze
  5. Couldn't have said that any better. I have been talking about going back to the districts from a couple of years ago all this time.
  6. BTW, I am still working on your other question. I haven't given up yet.
  7. Lewis was definetly what you call a lunch pail player. He worked for everything he got on and off the court. One of the great stories of college athletics. You are right, everyone could use several Lewis Arlines in this world.
  8. I'll take another stab, was it Lamont Robinson.
  9. Right, neither Silsbee or WOS will go back to 4A.
  10. I think the last to be drafted was Tommy Sewell by the 76er's. The last to play was Adrian Caldwell for the Rockets. The Sewell answer is probably wrong, but it's the last one I can think of.
  11. He's at $440,000. The amount last year for 125 was about $690,000. I figure at least 250 to 300 will get him there.
  12. Yes they are. I commend the Tiger coaches for doing this. This zone read spread suits the type players we have this year. It enables them to "spread" the ball around more to the many playmakers that Silsbee has this year. It all starts with the QB, which I see him really blossoming in this offense, fits him to a tee. They did start off the year with the veer but ran a few series with the spread and the team seemed to really grasp the offense led by Johnson. The last 2 games the Tigers have ran the spread every down. I see Silsbee getting better and better with this offense as the season progresses. They will have to, with who we have to play in the next coming weeks.
  13. Chris Stroud is currently 146 on the money list after last week's 6th place finish in the Valero Texas Open. He need's to get to the top 125 by season's end to retain his card. Currently, the top 125 number is $688,000. By my calculations, Chris will need a minimum of $250,000 in the last 4 events, avg. around $63,000 or so, to secure a top 125. If he is able to get a couple of top 10's in these last 4, it would go a long ways in achieving this goal. Good luck Chris!
  14. Personally, I think this thread should have waited till the 9th or 10th week of the season. To be talking about state champions, not just playoffs, this early in the season is kind of ridiculous. Too much football remains to be played. Like the thread stated, it's who has the best chance, not who will be there. The usual suspects are easy to predict and it's also easy to say that no team will make the finals, the odds are in that favor. If this were a wager, I would definetly take the field over the selected team.
  15. Week 7 Illinois @ Iowa LSU @ Kentucky Louisville @ Cincinnati Auburn @ Arkansas Oklahoma St. @ Nebraska Texas A&M @ Texas Tech Missouri @ Oklahoma Colorado @ Kansas State Purdue @ Michigan Georgia Tech @ Miami
  16. The question is, can Silsbee win district? Of course they can. The Tigers are a good enough team to do just that. They have the talent and are playing better each week. Now, will they win district, I'll say no for now. It will be very tough to beat the Stangs at Dan R. Hooks. I believe WOS defense will be too much in the end. With that said, I will not be shocked if the Tigers pull the upset. The are very capable of winning that game. For now though, Silsbee gets second would be my prediction. It is nice and all for us fans to be discussing this far ahead. But I want my Tigers to be focusing on HF this week. The rest will come.
  17. I totally agree with you Cardinal Supporter. It does take time to learn a new system and new coach but it also takes even more time for the players to get confidence in what they are running. I have no doubt, that in time, the Cardinals will get things together and get back to winning. With this said, this is why I am so suprised with my Silsbee Tigers this year. No, they didn't have to learn a new coach, but the Tigers have gone to the spread zone read offense after running the veer for so long. Silsbee really has gotten a grasp on the offense and are getting better every week. Of course, it helps having a very talented quarterback running it. I commend the Silsbee coaches for recognizing the talent on the team and implementing an offense that best suits their abilities.
  18. There's obvious holes in this statement. There are teams with losses ahead of some unbeatens in this poll. Hey, I'm just given you a hard time Coop. Really, these polls are fine with me. You can't please everyone.
  19. Well that class of 2009, which are juniors this year, didn't beat Silsbee this year, 55-7, and if there are some on the JV, they lost too, 18-6 to Silsbee's JV this year. Watch how you use the word " always ". BTW, do you know the meaning of the word?
  20. Yes, Silsbee ran the spread the entire game. This offense better suits our quarterback's talents and abilities. It's also a better offense to "spread" the ball around to the Tiger's multiple playmakers.
  21. So true, so true. Silsbee could be, not should be, but could be a little higher also. Kirbyville didn't drop much after getting blown out. Go figure
  22. The stats that I have for Johnson from that game were 9-18 passing for 160 yards 2 td's, and 9 rushes for 95 yards and 2 td's. Total offense was 255 yards and 4 td's. These were also the Orangeleader's stats.
