  2. After watching Jeremy Johnson do his magic last night, I don't care if he is a sophmore, I'll take him over any quarterback in the district.
  3. Seeing that Bridge City is having a hard time stopping the run, it looks to be a long night for the Cardinals. Silsbee runs the ball very well out of the spread which also will enable them to open up the passing game for them. Tigers will be licking their chops at the prospect of this. Defensively, Silsbee is getting better every week. Power running games seem to be the biggest problems the Tiger defense has but they are improving. Passing offenses IMO play into the the Tigers paws. Silsbee has already picked off 8 passes this year in just 4 games. Lots of speed in the defensive backfield for the Tigers.

  5. Man that's way over my head. But to answer the question, I think Johnson of Silsbee will be a great one, maybe by the end of this year, who knows. But the qb playing the best right now would have to be BC's Dustin Breaux. This is just based on stats though, not wins.
  6. It's my understanding that the top and bottom enrollment numbers for each classification won't move much from before. They will just try and group schools with close to the same enrollment into districts. I don't see anyone dropping or going up from this area. Coop, you keep saying the 4A number will be higher than 1050. Right now it's 925. If it goes higher like you said, there will be several 4A's dropping to 3a.
  7. Silsbee sophmore QB Jeremy Johnson not doing too bad a job starting off his varsity career. After 4 games he has 844 total offensive yards and has accounted for 10 td's, 3 rushing and 7 passing. Keep up the good work Jeremy.

  9. The problem with this statement is, how do they know how to act? They have never been there.
  10. That's a pretty bold statement. I guess maybe you haven't seen a whole lot of football. That '04 Jasper team was definetly a good team, but my Silsbee Tigers were able to beat them that year in the Bone Yard.
  11. I thought it was the Hyphenated Bowl. Question for you HJ and HF fans. Where do the best athletes come from at your respective schools? Hardin or Jefferson? Hamshire or Fannett?

  13. That's funny right there, I don't care who you are, that's funny!
  14. Amen to that Gasilla. Also, I thought it was a message board rule not to bash coaches on here.
  15. Please look at the date of my post. It was last year. This thread was brought back up but it was from last year.
  16. If you check my picks, I had Lumberton winning also.
  17. I think you are selling the Tigers a little short. Silsbee still has a shot at the district title and for sure a runner up spot, not just third.
  18. Yes, it was a bit different to watch last night. Silsbee ran out of the spread offense the entire night other than 2 or 3 downs when the lined up in the veer. I think going to the spread enables the Tigers to utilize more of their talent at their skill positions. The qb Johnson seems to be better suited for the spread and is more of a threat running the ball using the zone read plays. Also he is able to pass more efficiently and get the ball to his talented and speedy recievers in Harris and Willis. The new little wrinkle by putting rb Castle in shotgun and direct snapping to him just adds to the flavor of the offense. Kind of reminds you of Arkansas and what they do with Darrin McFaddin. We only had 2 fumbles last night, both on handoff exchanges, but the Tigers were able to recover them both. One of those was when the second string qb was in. Silsbee did have one interception though, but having only one turnover is an improvement. I see the offense getting better and better as the season goes on. The defense played their best game last night. Orangefield only crossed the 50 yard line two times, never really coming close to having any scoring opportunity. Silsbee's size and mostly speed on defense was just too much for the Bobcats. I beleive the defense is starting to come around and play better football. We are still young in some key positions on defense, but those guys are beginning to grow up. All in all, it was a good win to start district. Silsbee will have to play better as they get deep into district play.
