So far, the only one to advance to state has been Foster in the long jump and triple jump. I am trying to get her 400 meter results and Douglas's 300 hurdle results as we speak. None of the girls relay teams will advance to state. -

No. I should be hearing something soon. -
What horse takes this? The filly Rachel Alexandra will be running with the big boys for the first time. Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird's jockey, Calvin Borrel has jumped mounts and will be riding the filly in the Preakness. He has stated that Mind the Bird will have to run the race of his life to beat him and Rachel Alexander. Very interesting comments.

The comparison to the NCAA tourney is a joke. Like Nos stated, they get at large bids based on the teams overall performance. You saying that a district tourney should decide who and only who goes to the playoffs is ridiculous. The only reason college conferences has conference tourneys is to generate more money, not try to give the "little man" another chance at getting to the NCAA. So comparing a district tourney to a college conference tourney is a laugh.

You only get one false in the running finals. It is ashame. They most likley would have finished 2nd behind the Mustangs and would have advanced to state. You only get one false start in the prelims or finals. That's how it is in high school track. Most likely to have finished 2nd would have been Taylor (who had the fastest district time in region 3) not Silsbee. Is there any results on anyone besides WOS. How did BC do in the 800? Both Silsbee and WOS chose not to run their fastest relay team in the district meet. Those times were not their fastest. Silsbee's fastest runner did not run at district. Both Silsbee and WOS had recorded faster times earlier in the season with their faster relay teams. In the prelims yesterday, WOS and Silsbee finished 1st and 2nd. -

Silsbee's Jeremy Johnson won the long jump with a leap of '23 "10. That's a foot longer than he jumped at the district meet. WOS's James Haynes was second. WOS's Trey Franks did not qualify for state in the long or triple jump. I am trying to get all the results from yesterday's field events and get the results from todays running finals. Neither has been posted on the host site. -
I know one thing's for sure, the shoe's left by SS Josh James will be very hard to fill. We will miss his playmaking ability very much.

No problem. Like the late Rodney Dangerfield said, "Place your bets, place your bets!" "Hey Shmells(Lazeek), thousand bucks you miss that putt!" ;D

Lazeek, it's being worked on as we speak. Jordan and I have talked about this for a couple of years now. We need to get some of us together and have a meeting about it to brain storm it.

Actually, with Griffin going to be a Junior next season and Jeremy just being a high school senior, he wouldn't have to wait but one year. If Jeremy goes to Baylor, he will be a freshman when Griffin is a senior, if Griffin stays for his senior year. Jeremy is an excellant basketball player. I really wish he would comeback to play hoops this coming season. He would help tremendously.

This has been a great two weeks for Jeremy Johnson and Tiger football. Today, Michigan, West Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, and Iowa State were all at the High School at the same time. Yesterday, Akansas and Iowa State became the 16th & 17th schools to offer Jeremy. Miami and Akansas were at the school Monday. Two weeks ago it was Oklahoma and UT there. Jeremy is getting well deserved attention and he is really enjoying this recruiting process. Frontrunners are West Virginia, Michigan, and Baylor. All want him at QB.
