  1. I don't know what Sweeny has to do with Silsbee beating Kirbyville. But since you brought them up, the team that beat Silsbee in the second round, West Columbia, beat Sweeny in district. Silsbee lost that playoff game 44-41 after leading 41-31 with 2 minutes left, Tigers were unable to cover an on side kick and then got a hail mary thrown at them, tough loss. If we are going to play the woulda coulda shoulda game, West Columbia would have taken down the Mildcats from Kirbyville. Like I said, this has nothing to do with Silsbee-Kirbyville, the Tigers own the mildcats, and you know it.
  2. All of you guys are wrong on the best coaching staffs. Don't ya'll realize that the best coaches are the know-it-alls that sit in the stands on Friday nights?
  3. They won't be able to do that either. Haven't never done it before.
  4. Consider it done patitan. I say even if he is only to stand along the sidelines this year, standing O is warrented. Making that first catch would just be icing on the cake.
  5. Same old mumbo jumbo. Balla has predicted Kirbyville to beat Silsbee every year since the Tigers dropped to 3A, but has never happened. This year will be the same, Silsbee wins again, 34-24. Keep predicting those Wildcat wins, someday, when the blind hogg finds an acorn, it will come true.
  6. My thoughts and prayers to Donovan and the others for a full recovery. Your are right Patitan, football last thing on the mind.
  7. I'll respect who I want to respect. Patitan, you will have to earn my respect instead of demanding it. Glad to see you on this site, welcome to the board.
  8. Hamshire Fannett definetly needs to upgrade their visitor side. Very small stands with absolutely no ailes to walk up or down on. Also, the spaces under the seats are so big that an actual adult could fall through let alone a small child. Only thing saving you is that the stands aren't that tall so it wouldn't be too far to fall.
  9. I love second chances! Man, am I hungry! Thirsty too!
  10. I bought you a gift card to Hooters for your B-Day, but then for some odd reason I got hungry and went there myself. Tough luck.
  11. Dawie shot 75 in the second round, finishing 2 rounds at 148, +6, missing the cut by 2 shots. He was set to make the cut with 4 holes left but then played the last 4 holes in 4 over par to squash any hopes of making the cut.
  12. Well, I saw both Kirbyville and Newton play last year. I saw them both play Silsbee in real games, not scrimmages. They both lost to Silsbee, Kirbyville 42-32, Newton 27-23, but I was more impressed with Newton than I was with Kirbyville. Silsbee actually led Kirbyville at one time by more than 3 td's, the Tigers got a little relaxed in the 4th and Kirbyville scored a couple of late td's to make it respectable. The Newton game on the other hand was back and forth. Silsbee scored with 2 minutes left to go ahead 27-23 and then held off Newton to preserve the win. Kirbyville will be good, no doubt. But I am predicting my Tigers to beat them, just like they always do.
  13. I 've got patience enough to wait it out. A name or some names will eventually surface be it on tv or print. Very sad.
  14. Dawie, the winner of the 2007 Silsbee Men's Golf Association Invitational and not to mention a 1st team Ping All American out of Lamar, shot an erratic round of +2, 73, tied for 40th after the first round of the Nationwide's Children's Hospital Invitational. Dawie's round consisted of 5 birdies, 6 pars and 7 bogeys on what was a difficult day on the Scarlet course at The Ohio St. University. The average score today was about +5 in very windy conditions. If Dawie can shoot anywhere around par tomorrow, he should easily make the cut.
  15. Sell beer at games!!!!!! just kidding The interference rule should change like mentioned in a previous post. Also, some advice to some of the refs, you could call holding, offensively or defensively, on every play, but don't feel like you are obligated to do so. Particularly when the hold has no influence on the play.
  16. Craig Martin of Silsbee made a 52 yarder against PNG last year.
  17. Whoever that qb was, I remember my Silsbee Tigers putting a hurting on him in '01. I believe Silsbee sacked him about 7 times that game, with several qb hurries.
  18. For Silsbee, it would be Jay McGuire and Artie Shankle. Honerable mention would be Ricky Price and Robert Arline.
  19. Jeremy Johnson will be the starting qb for Silsbee. The '6"2 170 pound 4.5 sophmore has the potential to be a very special player by the time he finishes high school. Looking forward to watching him the next three years. Silsbee may have one or two more sophmores playing varsity this year, but I don't know if they will be starters.
  20. Silsbee's Desmond Doss was district MVP in both football and basketball his senior year. He wasn't too bad in track also. This year Silsbee will have Donovan Harris, who excels in both football( first team all district) and track( defending state champ in 110 hurdles). Also heard he will be playing basketball this year. A little bit of trivia for you guys. What athlete was drafted in the first round in the NFL, NBA, and Major League drafts?
  21. It will be Silsbee again. And it will be the same result, a loss for Splendora, but probably not as close.
