  1. Charles, Michaels, and Mosely. Those three can't be touched by any other back since 2000.
  2. Case closed. Trey Franks is the fastest.
  3. Uh, I believe Kountze and East Chambers would have something to say about that.
  4. My whole arguement was with your statement saying you saw those comments on this site when Kendrick first got in the league. Go back and look at the history of this forum and it only goes back to '06. You will not find anything here on what you are talking about. By the time this site's basketball forum really got to hopping, Perk had been in the league 4 years already. I believe he had solidified himself by that time, therefore, no arguement. If you'll look at my earlier post, I agreed with you that some comments were made on the other site that were regarding him making it in the NBA. I also agree that some of those posters are over here now since that site went down. But, if my memory serves me correctly, the one's that were adament about Kendrick not making it do not even post here. As for my comments, the only thing I said about Perk over on the other site was that I thought he might have benefitted more going to college. But I never said he wouldn't make it in the NBA. There are many players that are worse than Kendrick that have or still play in the NBA for me to say KP wouldn't make it in the league.
  5. What happened to Donahoe going to Lamar State PA?
  6. By the looks of this post, you said it was on this site too: It was when he first got in the league was when I FIRST saw it on this site and on Chad's HoopInsider site...No big deal, but it happened. "When he FIRST got in the league". One would say that would be his first year. Not his third or fourth year when this site was up. I would even allow for his second year, but this site wasn't around then either. Keep crawfishing, DV.
  7. The regional track meet has been canceled. All regional qualifiers will participate in state semi-final heats at the State Track meet in Austin on May 14. The top 4 finishers in those heats will participate in the state meet the next two days.
  8. Baseball and Softball No interschool games will take place until May 11 for either softball or baseball. Below is an altered playoff schedule for both sports. 9. Now that I have seen the latest news by the UIL, I guess I won't be doing this game.
  10. I will be in Kirbyville tomorrow night broadcasting this very important district 22-3A match up between the Hemphill Hornets and the Kirbyville Wildcats. This is a must win for Kirbyville as they find themselves on the outside looking in for that last playoff spot. The Wildcats trail the Hornets by 1 game and with a win, it will force a third game between these two on Saturday for that last playoff spot. A win by Hemphill will give them the third spot and off to the playoffs they go. This game will definitely have a playoff atmosphere to it! Broadcast time will be at 6:45pm with the first pitch at 7pm. Come on up to Kirbyville and get an early start on some baseball "playoff" action! Otherwise, catch all the play-by right here at SETXsports.com! Mike Sanchez, SETXsports.com broadcaster
  11. What are the district standings in that district?
  12. Thanks for the answers, if I ask anymore I will be sure to wait on your answers so I am confident I would be teaching my team the correct rules. Not that silsbee88 doesn't know his stuff. I thought since it was a sticky topic with your name in the title, I would be getting answers from an umpire I could trust. Or aggies can verify every answer that is put on the board. ;D No, I'll just verify only your answers.
  13. I had heard that the game between these two on Thursday night has a playoff spot riding on it. Someone please confirm this and elaborate on the scenario and on what's at stake. Thanks
  14. I wasn't argueing that point. DV made a false comment, I just called him on it.
  15. Well it seems as even though I am older than you, my memory seems to be a little sharper than your's. Nobody was on this site talking about Kendrick when he first got in the league. The reason why I know this is because Kendrick's first year was the '03-'04 season. This website wasn't created until the middle of December '05, which was the beginning of Kendrick's third season with the Celtics. The basketball forum didn't really get into form until the '06-'07 season, Perk's fourth year. Apparently I haven't forgotten anything, since it never existed. : What you saw was a figment of your imagination. You need to do a little more research when opening your mouth next time. I will agree with you that there was that kind of talk over on that other site.
  16. Silsbee Junior QB Jeremy Johnson now has offers from these schools: Arizona, Baylor, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Purdue, TCU, and West Virginia. All want him at quarterback. It is a strong year nationally for dual-threat quarterbacks and Michigan has found several nationwide they have deemed offer worthy. One of those is Silsbee, Texas' Jeremy Johnson who accounted for nearly 2,800 yards of offense and 32 touchdowns as a junior. "Michigan sent [the offer] to the school about a month and a half ago," Johnson said. "I've been a Michigan fan since I was little and I used to watch Braylon Edwards. I never thought I would be getting an offer from Michigan because I never thought they recruited way down here." Johnson is most often compared to Pat White who played for current Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez for a majority of his career Other schools that have offered Johnson include Arizona, Baylor, Kentucky, Missouri, Purdue, West Virginia and TCU. Michigan, though, has jumped out as one of Johnson's favorites. "They are top three – Baylor, Michigan and West Virginia," Johnson reported. "I am being recruited by Baylor a lot and they are close to home, so I really like them. I am going to try to go to Baylor next weekend and I am going to try to go to West Virginia after that. I haven't talked with the Michigan coaches, so I'm not sure if I am going to go up there or not." West Virginia is where the recently-drafted Pat White went to school and Johnson said he is compared to White more than any other quarterback in professional or collegiate football. White, of course, was recruited by and played for current Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez and that fact has not escaped Johnson's attention. "It really makes me feel good knowing that Pat White was successful playing for the coach," Johnson said. "They told me that Pat White could have been recruited anywhere in the nation as an athlete, but he wanted to play quarterback and that's kind of how teams are recruiting me. "Most of the big time schools like Texas and Oklahoma want me as an athlete, but I am sticking at quarterback so I think Michigan would be a good school for me. "I think I would fit in good with the offense. It's a shotgun offense and they have a good mixture of running plays and pass plays. I see they do a lot of quick routes and that's kind of what I do in the offense at my high school. As far as learning the offense and being comfortable with it, I think I would fit right in with that team." Other schools recruiting Johnson as a quarterback include West Virginia, Baylor, Kentucky and TCU. He will take visits to several schools this spring and summer, but the first hurdle programs that are recruiting Johnson have to clear is to recruit him as a quarterback. "I really want to play quarterback, so any team looking at me for quarterback, I'll look into going there," Johnson said. "My dad is helping me make my decision and we're looking at the opportunity for playing time and how I fit into an offense." As a junior, Johnson threw for 1,886 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also rushed 110 times for 832 yards and 12 touchdowns. With less than 10,000 people to its name, Silsbee (TX) isn't what most would call a recruiting hotbed. Over the last two years, however, one very special player has brought attention to the area by making jaw dropping throws and even more impressive plays on the ground; since then, offers from the likes of Michigan, West Virginia, and Baylor have been pouring into the small town in rapid succession. The emergence of dual-threat quarterback Jeremy Johnson came during a forgettable 4-6 2007 season for the Tigers; for the first time in three years, they failed to make the playoffs, and to add insult to injury, the team that beat them out for a spot in the postseason was none other than division rival Jasper. That same year, however, Johnson provided a silver lining by earning a combined 2,296 yards and 26 touchdowns, while locking down the quarterback position for years to come. With a year of experience under his belt, Johnson and the Tigers came back in 2008 with a vengeance. While leading the Tigers two rounds deep into the playoffs, Johnson improved on his sophomore stats by running for 832 yards and 12 touchdowns, while throwing for 1886 yards, 20 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. Recently clocked at a 4.38 by his coaches, it's no surprise the District 21-3A MVP and honorable mention 3A All-State selection is getting as much attention as he is. Just last week, coaches from Oklahoma, Baylor, Illinois, and Northwestern all made the trip down to watch the Silsbee standout perform. With over nine months to go until national signing day, however, Johnson already has a good idea as to where he will end up. "West Virginia and Baylor are my two favorites right now," Johnson said. "I'm getting down to a couple options right now, but I still get mail from a lot of different places." Along with TCU and Michigan - two other schools Johnson is seriously considering - Baylor and West Virginia both have offenses that Johnson could see himself excelling in. "Coach [Art] Briles has shown me some film on Robert Griffin, as well as some of the playbook, " Johnson said. "I like their offense a lot. Baylor really seems to be heading to the top in college football." "I like what Pat White has done at West Virginia, too," Johnson added. "I've watched him a lot, and I've kind of geared my game after him in a way." Johnson was actually slotted to visit West Virginia two weeks ago for the Mountaineer's spring game until heavy rains kept his flight grounded on the runway. So far, the Silsbee quarterback has taken visits to TCU and Oklahoma, but plans on making the rounds before coming to his final decision. "I am planning on going to Baylor and West Virginia and Baylor in the next few weeks," Johnson said. "I won't be making any decisions until probably the end of June, though, so I can make all my visits. Then I'll be relaxed and comfortable with whatever decision I make."
  17. DV, you still haven't answered my question. When were "these people" on this site saying these things about Perk? Was it when he got drafted or later in his career?
  18. WOW!!! What happened to the team that some were on here saying they would win the state championship this year? Now they can't even win their district.
  19. Were they saying that when he got drafted?
  20. So, by your recollection DV, you are saying that folks on this site were saying that Perk wouldn't make it when he entered the NBA, is that correct? Because I don't recall that.
  21. This should be a judgment call. If the umpire thinks that he could safely have reached 3rd before the ball leaves the field of play then he is awarded 3rd. I think...... Maybe we should rename this thread ask mr silsbee88.... Once the pithcer steps off the back of the rubber, then he becomes a fielder not a pitcher. Runner gets 3rd as it is one from the mound and two from the field. Now if he makes a regular pick off throw and did not step off the back then he would only get 2nd. I see nothing wrong with others answering these questions.
