  1. Let's stay on topic, please.
  2. You and those kidney stones. Sounds like you need to trade it in on a new one. ;D Glad you are up and around.
  3. Personally, I like the defense that doesn't give up a single point in every game. ;D
  4. I think what's being lost in the discussion is the principle. To me, if you have set a precedent of playing a district game under one set of rules, albeit, misinterpreted the first time, you should still honor that way of playing with the rest of the games to keep an order of how all the district games are played. I myself questioned that the rule was being misinterpreted when they played those suspended games a couple of weeks ago. I have never heard of a game that had completed 5 innings with one team in the lead, having to complete that game at a later date. I knew that was National Federation rules that the UIL uses. I even questioned some of the 21-3A baseball coaches themselves and I got conflicting reports with some saying that 21-3A had their own policy on such matters. All in all, everything worked out even if the rule was used properly in the earlier games. But, the fact still remains that this district needs to understand the rules better than they have exhibited. IMO, the easiest thing to do is just go by the Federation rules and leave these self-district policies to the 4A districts. ;D
  5. Yes they were allowed to go to the playoffs and they did play varsity teams in district. That undefeated team of Silsbee's that year rolled Ozen pretty bad. I think Boutte never forgot that later on.
  6. There is a slight correction to your post. It's correct that Boutte did not win district in '98 but his team did play a varsity schedule. It was just with freshmen and sophs. He took his lumps that year with the underclassmen but they did play varsity ball.
  7. I am just saying, when you are talking "all time greats" in the entire state, there are more than just the 3 or 4 that you have mentioned. You didn't mention Bill Kruger or Cotton Robinson, both Hall of Famers. There are several others, too many to name. Boutte is a great coach, I have said that many times. But this list isn't as short as DV wants to say that it is ahead of Andre as an All Time coaching great in Texas. I would put Boutte in the top 20 though.
  8. dude you must be crazy.....ask anyone! green is a incredible ATH but he was no bradon williams you should of seen what he did to vidor his senior year he beat vidor by himself central had some of its best years with him starting at QB anyone?? Apples and Oranges as far as styles and the offenses they were a part of. Williams was more elusive as a runner, but other than that, I don't think he had a skill that stood out as being far above Green. Going by numbers I would say he wasn't even parallel, but once again... the offenses were very different. Green is the total package and was recruited as the ONLY QB in Nebraska's 2009 class. that's gotta say something about him as a QB. Williams was committed to TAMU as an athlete if I remember correctly. I agree. As far as those two go, Green is the better QB. His numbers and the fact that he was recruited as a QB pretty much seals it.
  9. Uh Short, as far as state wide, you are leaving out many coaches that would rank ahead of Boutte.
  10. You also told bacbone that you asked the HJ faithful about them beating Ozen. Your comment was that got real quiet. In fact, Ozen has never beaten HJ, but you seem to let that slide.
  11. That pretty much sums it up.
  12. the only reason it was by 6 is because the 3 string team played the whole 4th quater I thought you said they won by 17? Which is it, 6 or 17?
  13. So why ask if HJ had beaten Ozen in any varsity sport? Why not ask if Ozen had beaten HJ in any varsity sport? If you knew they had not played, then why ask?
  14. You know Nos, I was going to post that fact earlier, but I wanted someone(you know who) to post that Ozen had beaten HJ.
  15. Whatever : I just did what I was asked to do, strictly district play. I kept it simple for this simple mind. ;D
  16. Silsbee's Johnson to Lane will be potent.
  17. Is anyone else having trouble with the sound? It sounds like Joey is drunk. He may be doing his best Harry Carey impersonation.
  18. According to the broadcast, it's 3-0 Vidor.
  19. I did this because I was asked to do it.
  20. Mr. Conway is a school board member for Silsbee and a former coach and administrator in Silsbee. He is a very fine man. WOS is lucky to have had him this last year.
  21. Yes they do. In fact, WOS boys doubles team advanced to regionals.
  22. Take that up with stevenash. He asked for them. Of course, we know what your opinion would be if.....
