  2. The gauntlet has been thrown down!!!! Care for rebuttal, hoops123?
  3. THAT would settle it then....Should be no more questions asked about that one. Agreed!
  4. d. frank is a program killer he needs to leave dosent go to class ,cusses teachers, etc... I am sorry to hear, but that is exactly what I have been told by several people in the know at Ozen about this kid.
  5. Good luck! Oh, do you care to elaborate on what 5 public high schools you are talking about? Thats no secret...Waltrip, Washington, Eisenhower, Reagan, and Lamar.....Then about another 5 miles away you have Kashmere, Scarborough and Aldine and not far from that you could also possibly lure a WHEATLEY kid or two... ...I am ALL OVER IT, too! I dont even want the MAIN guys, really, either....Just the ones who may not be happy about their place in the line up or program..... 8) I want to get some NUMBERS, then turn them into some QUALITY TAPPS depth! Man Bluedove, you were way off on your list of schools. You sure you're from Houston?
  6. I am pretty sure that Coach Foreman had Dan Ray's blessing on what he chose to talk about in that interview. Was it unprofessional? That's debatable. I can see how some would think it was if the interview went from giving kudos to the athletes in what they have accomplished already to spouting off on the school district and it's falicies. I didn't think it went that way, personally. I got to get to know Coach Foreman at the 21-3A track meet and I came away very impressed. He has about 8-9 phenomenal athletes over there but he also has coached them very well and has utilized each one to better enhance the team as a whole. Super job, Toby. I am looking forward to covering the WOS team along with the other local school's regional qualifiers at the regional and hopefully the state meets.
  7. Yep, 95. When you do as much basketball as I do, it adds up. I have done as much as 4 basketball games in one day. Plus doing the baseball/softball games of the week the last two years helps to the count. I have done only 24 football games, the rest basketball and baseball/softball.

  9. Congrats Gary, job well done. It was a pleasure getting to meet you at the 21-3A district track meet. I enjoy getting to listen to your broadcasts when I am not doing one myself. Very professional. 1000! Let's see, I only have 905 more to catch up. Problem is, Gary is still going! (hard to believe I have done 95 broadcasts in 2 years for this site, it's been fun! But, at this rate, it will take me 18 more years to get that 1000)
  10. They way I see it Dicky, if a private school is allowed to recruit, then by all means, recruit.
  11. Persohn lives in beaumont.... trying to understand how he is zoned for hj Hmmm, this is food for thought. ;D
  12. Case of don't bite the hand that is CURRENTLY feeding you. ;D
  13. I heard that Silsbee has a bruiser of a coach that his only job is to take Davis out within the first two minutes of the game. Oh shoot, I just let the cat out of the bag. ;D
  14. It's a joke, a complete embarrassment. I am glad that Travis is not going to be considered for that job, wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I may have been too harsh saying that BISD is a laughing stock, but this is an incredible blackeye on the district.
  15. Was the ball into the outfield grass? Or why wasn't the infield fly rule in effect? Has to be runners at 1st and 2nd for the infield fly rule to be in effect. Plus this was more of a soft liner.
  16. From where I was sitting, it looked like the HF second baseman did not drop the little blooper on purpose. You could see his reaction because he was looking around to see where he needed to throw it first. After being directed to throw it to second, then the shortstop was then directed to throw it to first for the double play. None of it looked like it was done on purpose, it was all by accident. The only fault here was the Silsbee player not running to first. You got to run everything out, or things like this can happen. I will say that intentionally dropping a ball to create a double play can be seen as bush league, but it's part of the game.
  17. I agree with this post with a disclaimer. If UIL allows privates to play with the publics, then ALL the privates should have to play 5A, regardless of their size or location.
  18. This is a complete joke. Just another example of how poorly BISD is run. This district along with PAISD is the laughing stock of this area. It is obvious that the "bigwigs" of this district did not like the fact that everyone and their grandma didn't apply for this "big time, most coveted" job in the state. : I am sure they were expecting the likes of Rick Barnes, Tom Penders, Billy Gillespie and others to apply. They may of even expected the great Robert Hughes to come out of retirement and take this job. :
  19. I will agree with this statement he had: "If LU football makes it attendance wise, Mid-County, Port Arthur, Orange, Silsbee and other outlying areas will be the backbone". I also agree with him stating that the City of Beaumont is a crummy sports town.
  20. Sorry, I meant to put PSL.
  21. Broadcast will start at 6:45pm Click link to hear broadcast. [Hidden Content]
  22. I will be in Silsbee tonight broadcasting the SETXsports GOW when the Tigers play host to the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns in 21-3A district play. Hamshire-Fannett needs this win to stay in the playoff hunt while Silsbee has seen it's playoff hopes vanish with the loss to Orangefield last night. Now they play the role of spoiler. HF can clinch a playoff spot with a win coupled by a loss by WOS tonight. Broadcast time will be at 6:45pm with the first pitch around 7pm. Tune in tonight and catch some baseball right here at SETXsports.com!!! Mike Sanchez, SETXsports.com Broadcaster
  23. It never was "almost" protested. It was all a rumor.
