  1. We had everything to do with Benard getting the award. : We also turned the screws and got Gulley the award, had to make sure no Ozen player got any award. :
  2. I would like to see this game too but WB has nothing to win in this game. If they win, so what they are 5A and they should win. However, if they lose.......that's not good. I may be wrong but I don't think a 3A team can play a 5A team. I believe the UIL does not allow a team to play two classifications above or below it's own classification. Wrong, it's done on many occassion. Just last year 2A Kirbyville was scheduled to play 4A LCM until the hurricane hit. Also 2A Newton has played 4A teams in the past. There has been several 1A schools play 3A schools.
  3. I disagree with one point of this post. You cannot use the phrase "your former president" then follow it by using the phrase " our current president". If you use "your" then you must follow it with "my", otherwise it should say "our former president" followed by " our current president".
  4. Scott Sterling shot +1 in final round to finish T9th at -8. Michael Arnaud also shot +1 to finish at -5 T28th.
  5. ....................Hit...........Pitch............Defense.........Intangible Ned................................X............................................... LCM.......................................................................x........ PNG...............x..................................x............................. How come Vidor and Lumberton isn't in this comparison?
  6. What confuses me about the BISD stadium is it's seating capacity. They say it will be 11,000 capacity, but with two decks on each side, you would think there would be more. I know that PNG, Nederland, and even 3A Silsbee's stadium holds 10,000, and that's just single decks on both sides. PNG's stadium probably holds more than 10,000 with it's new expansion. Cardinal Stadium holds 17,500 with single decks, roughly 7,000 more than what the BISD stadium will hold. Maybe that has something to do with the lower costs of builing the BISD stadium. Looks as though those decks won't be very big. : These are the numbers listed for biggest HS stadiums in SETX 1. Indian Stadium (PN-G) 13,000 2. Bulldog Stadium (Nederland) 11,000 3. Durley Stadium (West Brook) 10,000 3. Zaharias Stadium (Central) 10,000 3. Raider Stadium (Lumberton) 10,000 6. Pirate Stadium (Vidor) 9,600 7. Hooks Stadium (WOS) 9,500 8. Tiger Stadium (Silsbee) 9,300 9. Memorial Stadium (Memorial) 8,500- I think this number is off even though it has gotten smaller over the years. 9. Ward Stadium (Bridge City) 8,500 9. Bear Stadium (LC-M) 8,500 Lumberton added I had it just forgot to type it. Silsbee's Tiger Stadium is actually 9,800.
  7. First of all Gabe, you just lost your GUARANTEE because the Bobcats won't be batting in the bottom of the first, they will be batting in the top half. Also, just what are you willing to bet that one or both get a hit in the first inning? C'mon, if you are so confident with this GUARANTEE talk, let's make the wager.
  8. Didn't you hear Gabe? Vidor got a move in this week, great grand-son of Sandy Kaufax. He also brought his cousin with him who is the nephew of Wade Boggs. Vidor is set. ;D
  9. They are good, I like them. But, this is just the beginning of the selections, they won't end with your picks.
  10. All 80's decade team: BJ Tyler, PA Lincoln Brian Sallier, PA Lincoln Darrell MacArthur, Silsbee Andre Boutte, Hebert : Earl Evans, PA Lincoln Horace McDaniel, Kountze Daimon Sweet, Central Boutte on the all decade team? He wasn't even the best player on his Hebert team. Donald Mickens would be on the all decade team before Boutte.
  11. I have been asked to start a thread to see if we can come up with some all decade teams. We will start with the 70's decade and conclude with this current decade 2000-2009 which just ended. Members nominate players from the local districts of all classifications. If a player played in 2 decades, then put them in the decade that they graduated in. We will try and keep it to 7 first teamer's and 7 second teamer's. No superlatives or Honorable Mentions. If the selection is too broad then we will do it by classification. Also the teams do not necessarily have to have a certain number of positions on the teams. You can put all guards or all front court players. Now let's put on those thinking caps and dig deep in those memory banks and let the debate begin!!
  12. and the greatest of all tiiiiiiiimmmmmmmmeeeee, Walter Yates Jr.!!!! ;D The collection of top basketball coaches in Texas is just too grand to narrow it down to a few. But, I'll leave it to the one's in the profession to come up with a list. Dicky's and Nos's lists are great starts.
  13. When Syracuse rolled over Stephen F. Austin last week, it dropped the Southland Conference’s all-time record in the NCAA tournament to 10-33. Lamar is responsible for exactly half of the SLC’s 10 tourney victories, but doesn’t have one since routing Alabama in 1983. Three of the other five wins belong to the Karl Malone teams at Louisiana Tech. Northwestern State is responsible for the remaining two, although one of them was in a play-in game . Only three SLC schools have won at the NCAA's.
  14. It's pretty simple at Silsbee. Blue Chip QB Jeremy Johnson will be the difference maker for the Tigers.

  16. Question, do you know all the top coaches in the entire state of Texas?
  17. Congrats to both these young men. Great job!
  18. ??? How do you figure that? 5 Tiger baserunners cross homeplate while only 1 Bobcat baserunner reaches home. That's just about how that's figured. ;D Now if that will happen remains to be seen.
  19. I believe the reason Nederland and West Brook do not play is more to do with West Brook upping their schedule since they have to play Ozen and Central, has nothing to do with Nederland ducking the Brook. But, I'll take Neuman and Nederland's chances over PNG's chances with West Brook anyday.
  20. That is correct, Hicks pitched 10 innings this week.
  21. The free kind. ;D
  22. Orange's Michael Arnaud will be in the next to last group to tee off today to start the third round at the Nationwide Louisiana Open. His tee time is at 1:20pm off #1. Arnaud is -7, one shot behind the leader. Arnaud Monday qualified for this event. Also, Orange's Scott Sterling is at -6, two shots off the lead. Former Lamar golfer Dawie van der Walt missed the cut.
  23. Yep, that's what you have to do when you go to dumps, get there early. ;D
  24. Well, in this case, maybe a waste of my time, but not my money. ;D
