As for the UIL, do you want me to check with them to see if they will allow YOU to declare them district champs or if they will approve of them being district champs if they win it on the court?

I don't think anyone is saying they WILL win district. Saying one is the favorite is not saying they will win it. HJ has been declared the favorite before, nothing to get your dandruff up about. But if you want to go ahead and declare Silsbee the district champs, go right ahead.

Silsbee will be returning 3 starters, Robinson, Walters, and Stallworth. But you could make an argument that they are returning 4 starters as Thomas did start some this past season. Returning a 1st team all stater in Robinson, along with "3" other starters to go with a solid bench, Silsbee should be the favorite to win district and advance deep into the playoffs. Another trip to Austin is not out of the question.

It's really a shame. All that talent, probably will be wasted unless something drastic happens with this kid's attitude and mental capacity. Like DickV said, he just don't get it! Also correct in stating that UT isn't offering anymore, got that from a very reliable source. Word is that lot's of the bigger schools are backing away from Brown, but some of the smaller one's are still inquiring. I agree, I don't consider this bashing.

The new coach for La Marque has a philosophy of discipline and hard work. Hopefully he will join the four other coaches that preceded him in La Marque and take them once again to the big dance someday. It might take a while, we have only been 9 times in the last 21 years, we will have to be patient. I have been told by the people who broadcast La Marque football on Comcast cable each week, there is an average of 6,000 viewers.Just think , La Marque football has been broadcast on TV in the La Marque - Texas City area since the mid '90s...It is a compliment to know that SETXsports enhanced that exposure with it's audio webcasts. Also, in 22-4A basketball, in the case of a two way tie, it went head to head. Dayton and LCM split their district games and that's why they played off in the Montagne. Had one swept the other, then they would have gone as the third place team. I am really not understanding why there is a different tie breaker for baseball in this district, makes no sense.

That makes no sense at all. Are you sure about this, Coop? I know in football they went head to head in two way ties in this district, but in the case of 3 way, was points. If that's the case, and Vidor ended up tied with Nederland for third, it would be a travesty for the Pirates not to go after sweeping the Bulldogs in district.

District rules are head to head, first and foremost. Jasper clinched a playoff spot with the win last night. Silsbee's only chance would have been for them to win last night and then win their final game or lose and have HJ lose both of their games as long as Silsbee won their final game. This would have put them in a tie with HJ for third causing a play-in game since they split in district. It's all a moot point since HJ destroyed Orangefield last night. Playoff teams: BC-district champs HJ and Jasper still yet to be determined what seed.

The winner of this game will take over sole possesion of first place and will clinch a playoff spot. Loser will still have a chance for first but will need some help and also still will have to battle Nederland, LCM and Ozen for the remaining playoff spots. Aggies will not be a 3 seed in whatever regional they play in. Actually, I look for them to host a regional but maybe as a 2 seed. Still lots of ball to be played.

But he catches like one. That last BC game he looked horrible in the field.......IMO That seems to be his only knock, his fielding and not an accurate arm, but strong though. But, that's what the minor leagues are for, to teach you those things at the professional level. It's all about the potential with this player.
