  1. I am with you on that one, TWG! That would be awesome!
  2. j_dog, I would agree that 18-3A was probably 5 teams deep and 21-3A is 4 teams deep. I also agree that Silsbee and HJ would be the top 2 in either district but who would be that third place team would be up for grabs.
  3. TWG, I think Jasper definetly benefited from the realignment. This is basically the same team from last year and they did not make the playoffs from our district. They lost 2 straight to Orangefield, one at home and then one at a neutral site to send the Bobcats to the playoffs. I'll admit that Jasper seems to be playing better, but I am not sold on the fact they would have made the playoffs out of our district. (that ought to get'em riled) ;D Could not disagree more. Jasper is a MUCH different team today than they were last year..........heck they are even different from the team they were at the beginning of this year. They would have beaten both WOS and OF and given HJ a run for their money in second. Bulldogs are sleeper and with all the crap Silsbee fans have talked I hope and pray you dont meet them. Spinks, have you seen Jasper play this year? I have seen them play 3 times this season. They are no different personel wise as they were last year. As Bailey and Spikes go, so goes the Dogs. It was the same last year. I saw them play 6 times last year and I saw no difference in the way they are playing this year, based on what I have seen for myself. Just taking the 3 games that Jasper has played Silsbee the last 2 years, there was nothing different about how the game was played or the outcome. Last year, Silsbee beat Jasper both times in district by an average of 30 points, this year they played in Jasper and beat them by 44. You shut down Bailey and Spikes, which the Tigers did, and Jasper is finished. This Jasper team might have beaten Orangefield this year, but I am not certain they would have beaten WOS both times. I will say that Jasper has improved from earlier in the season, but I am not convinced that they are a far better team than they were last year. Nash, I understand your point, very valid. I have witnessed those kind of transformations time and time again. Jasper may have made that transformation, but, we will see.
  4. Aggies win it again. This year though they will parlay their conference championship into a World Series berth.

  6. Hit the back button. Also, send jdawg a pm stating you are having problems with the pop ups. Jordan had stopped the ads for awhile because of this problem. He started them back a few days ago because he was told by that ad agency that the problems had been solved. Evidently, they haven't.
  7. IMO, Breon is the best player on Ozen's team. He is the one that makes them go.
  8. PAM vs. FB Hightower (-12 1/2) Ozen (-1 1/2) vs. Huntsville Livingston (-3 1/2) vs Brenham Silsbee (-25 1/2) vs. Coldspring Hardin-Jefferson (-7 1/2) vs. Cleveland Jasper (-10 1/2) vs. La Vega Lufkin Hudson (-4 1/2) vs. Center Kountze vs. New Waverly (-4 1/2) Newton (-14 1/2) vs. Shelbyville Spurger (-4 1/2 ) vs. Bremond
  9. We'll be traveling over to Baytown tonight, broadcasting at Lee College where the Silsbee Tigers will take on the Coldspring Trojans in Class 3A Region III quarterfinal playoff. Silsbee is coming off an Area round win over Cameron Yoe, 81-59 and Coldspring got a bye in the Area round after defeating WOS 58-45 in the Bi-District round. These two teams are familiar with each other as they use to be district rivals for a couple of years. The winner of this game advances to the regional tourney in Huntsville. Silsbee is looking for their 4th trip to regionals in the last 5 years. Broadcast time will start at 6:45pm and tipoff will be at 7pm. Tune in to get all the play-by-play action here at Setxsports, broadcast home of Silsbee Tiger Athletics! Mike Sanchez, Tiger Sports and Setxsports.com broadcaster
  10. If someone could hand me updates, I will definetly put them out over the air and will post them to a thread.
  11. "Well, you movin on up! To the east side!"
  12. Why is the poll limited to these teams? This is such a lame thread and poll. :
  13. Your right teams like South Oak Cliff aren't very good practice. If you are referring to this year's SOC team, not a good example. This year's SOC team was a shell of what they were the last 5 years. But then again, they played it straight this year, can't say that about them the last few years.
  14. Okay, thanks for the roster. I was told be a Silsbee school board member that it was at 6pm. I will get there before 5pm just to make sure.
  15. Wow,I"m gonna try this. [move]GO TITANS[/move] [move]HIGHTOWER WILL WIN!![/move]
  16. Game time is 6pm. Broadcast will start at 5:45pm.
  17. I hear ya Dickie...whose to say, the next realignment Silsbee vs HJ may die down as well. Bring Back Silsbee vs Bmt Hebert..now that was a rivalry I will admit that I am very fond of the Silsbee/Hebert rivalry. That was in my playing days. But, that rivalry was very short lived as it only lasted 6 years. Hebert did not start playing Silsbee in basketball until '77 and it ended in '82 because the next year Hebert became West Brook. So it shouldn't be considered a long time rival no more so than Silsbee and HJ. But, it was definetly a spirited rival just as well as the Silsbee/HJ rival.
  18. Just giving you the facts...Why would they continue to go miles and miles away to prove anything to these people? They play locally and win, then take care of business in district, then make a playoff run...Can't win state EVERY year... Dicky, it's no secret that Boutte is a smart man. Back then, he had the team to compete with some of those national teams, therefore he took them to those tourneys. He hasn't had that kind of team since Perkins left, therefore he has been regulated to stick to the local tourneys and has been very successful at doing so. Andre knew what was best for his teams, but also knew what his teams limitations were. I guarentee you if Boutte had a team the caliber of those Perkins teams, he would still be traveling those miles to prove something to "THESE PEOPLE". :
  19. Okay. But about HJ not playing Ozen or Central every year, you know it takes two to tango. Who's to say Todd has tried to schedule these guys and they have turned him down. I do not know this for sure, just speculalting.
  20. Silsbee and HJ are a district match up also ??? I was referring that the only time anyone talks about Ozen/ Central matchup is because they only play in district..............they never make it far enough to play in the playoffs as HJ and Silsbee have been doing. That's only because Silsbee should STILL be in 4A, and If HJ played with just Sour Lake kids, it would be only ONE banner up there from 67! (I am so wrong for stirring this pot!) :D Explain to me Dicky why Silsbee should still be 4A.
  21. The schedule shows 6pm but I have been told it could be 7pm. I need to know as soon as possible so that I can post the correct broadcast time. Thanks for the help. Mike Sanchez
  22. I just want to say this about you "Memorial" fans, I hope you guys comeback to the site and discuss Memorial basketball after they lose to Hightower. We never saw you guys on here until the Titans made the second round of the playoffs. Where were you guys all season? I have a feeling we won't see any of you on here anymore when Memorial loses Wednesday night. :
  23. As far as Brookeland and Goodrich, we only talk about them when they play OUR AREA TEAMS!! We do not cover them on a regular basis. Yeah, maybe a poster or two will discuss them, but they are not teams we regularly cover. Same as Yates and Wheatley. When they play one of our local teams, there will be plenty of discussion. Sometimes they are talked about without one of them playing a local team. But, the fact remains we don't normally cover those teams. That's why the name of the site is SETXsports.com! Now, we invite all talk about any team, but don't go criticizing our site for not talking about teams that we don't regularly cover.
  24. They were asking on the 3A level.
