Here are the playoff pickem's for Tuesday night, Feb. 24th. We'll be picking 12 games instead of 10. Also, I did not inlude the East Chambers game because of them playing tonight. I will keep with tradition and make my 38th straight state tourney regardless of if there is no local team to make it.

I will tell you EXACTLY what has happened...When Memorial was created, they made a HUGE mistake in trying to "start over" and not embrace Port Arthur's west side and retaining all of that tradition...BIG MISTAKE...They killed interest along with tradition, therefore you lose players to Beaumont Kelly (J'Covan Brown in 9th and 10th grade) Nederland, PNG, and other surrounding schools that would have NEVER left Lincoln..PARENTS would not allow that to happen when Lincoln was around..They should have followed Ozen's lead when they "resurrected" Hebert...Same colors (blue and gold) same mascot (Panthers) and they simply named the school after someone that the entire community knew and loved, Clifton J. Ozen....If Memorial's colors were purple and gold, the mascot were bumblebees, and they would have named the school JAMES GAMBLE HIGH, they would not have missed a beat!! THATS the reason why they fell so far, so fast...They lost the WEST SIDE of Port Arthur... I understand what you are saying, Dicky, truely I do. But you can't name the only school in PA after a Lincoln coach and use Lincoln colors and mascot. There was a school named Thomas Jefferson also that was involved in the consolidation. There has to be some consideration for that school also. I think that it was handled about as good as could be expected. You really can't compare Ozen to Memorial. Memorial is the only school in PA, where as Ozen is just a newer version of Hebert, there still is West Brook and Central. Now if you were to merge all three of those schools, then you could compare it to the merger of Lincoln and TJ.

Oh yes. Bobby was an all state QB, holds all of Silsbee's passing records, and was an all SWC QB at UH, along with being a very good head coach of the Tigers that has led them to 6 playoff appearances in his 11 years as head coach of Silsbee. Craig was a very good player, just not on the level as his older brother. Think it's been 7 out of the 11. 98,99,01,04,05,06,08 That's correct. I forgot about '01.

It really doesn't matter anymore how small the court is. They have played their last game on it. They will be playing in their new gym next season. The old court is 84 feet. New court will be 92 feet.

I agree. I will not be suprised at all to see Silsbee and HJ in the regional final for the 3rd consecutive year.

The UIL website has Jasper playing Bullard but that is wrong. The bracket that I have posted is correct.

So, what you are "trying" to say is that any coach could go to WOS and be just as successful as Hooks. I am not buying that. I have often questioned your intelligence on these football matters, but have given you the benefit of the doubt. That no longer is the case now. You sir, have no clue.

they shut him down while he was in. if you want to put an asterick by this win for that, then put an extra one for willie warren playing what will quite possibly end up being the best game of his college career. if griffen HAD been in, Warren probably only goes for 15, and maybe the horns win anyway. Warren has scored over 30 points twice this year with Griffen in the game. You and I both know if Griffen plays, OU wins. I am glad tu won though.

I see A&M going winless in Big 12 play next year in football. Willing to make a bet on that? Put your money where your mouth is. they get iowa st. this year? Wait a minute, wait a minute. You opened your mouth and said they would go winless. It shouldn't matter who they play.
