Leander is a very skilled and discipline team. Also had a big size advantage. You are correct, FT shooting was not good but neither was the three point shooting. Tigers will have to shoot the ball much better.

Legislative Council voted to approve the proposal. Starting this coming school year, will be 2 state champions in each classification for boys and girls basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball. Will be no more regional basketball tournaments and no semifinals played at state basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball tournaments. Only state championship games played at state tourney. Personally, I don't like this at all. Really don't like doing the split after district play. Could have at least waited till next realignment so they could have divisional districts. This also shortens the playoffs by 1 game until next realignment.

Not happening. HJ is no longer an open enrollment ISD. The school district is very proud of the academic standard it has established and will protect that standard. A student MUST provide proof of residency within the school district in order to attend HJ schools. This info came straight from the top. Also, knowing the schools that play in HJ's basketball district (Huffman, Livingston, Liberty, HF, Shepherd, Tarkington) I know for a fact that transfers will be voted ineligible from the DEC if it even looks remotely like its a transfer for athletic purposes. Hardin-Jefferson will be just fine as is.

Make that now 12 blown saves in 24 opportunities. Only the Marlins and White Sox are worse in that category. Two teams that just happen to have the worst records in MLB at the current time. Convert half of those and the Astros are 36-31 and not 30-37. 1 1/2 back of Seattle and not 7 1/2 back.

Middle school and Freshmen teams were pretty good. JV was descent. I think HJ will be really good in 2-3 years.

In 23 save opportunities this season, Astros have only converted 12. 11 blown saves, worst in MLB. Houston converts just half of those they are above .500 and 70% puts then battling Seattle for 1st.
