2. 69-66 Lamar leads 5:07 left Lamar Sanders just picked up his 4th foul
3. Threeeeeeeeee!!!!!! by Barrow Lamar leads 56-53
4. Bottom line, they miss Acie Law at the point. They just don't have that guard that can take the game in his hands and either win it or make his teammates better down the stretch. Their inside game is much better than last year, but if you can't get the ball to them, it doesn't really matter. Still a long ways to go. Hopefully this is the wakeup call they needed. Otherwise we maybe seeing the true Aggie team, more hype than substance. I hope not.
5. There's no doubt Bailey is a fine athlete. I wasn't too impressed with his basketball game against my Tigers. Silsbee really gave him fits, Bailey only scored 4 points in the first half. He did finish with 18 but most of those came in trash time after Silsbee had built a 25 point lead. He is very quick though, but didn't seem to shoot it very well against Silsbee. What did impress me about him was how small he is. He can't be more than '5"6-'5"7 and 150-155 pounds. He plays MUCH BIGGER than that on the football field, my Tigers can attest to that.
6. I don't think that's official just yet, but that's what I had heard too. I haven't talked to his mother in a while, will try to catch up with her soon. We play golf together occasionaly, we both are members of Silsbee CC. I haven't played in a while( not a cold weather golfer) but I should see her soon and find out the scoop. I did hear that he had uncommitted to U of H when Briles left but I don't know if it was because of him leaving or the new coach not wanting Daniel. It's cougar high's lost as far as I'm concerned. Daniel will be a fine college player.
7. Tough loss for the Bobcats, I really thought they would take this one. It's all about the matchups. Who were the players that missed for Orangefield?
8. I am afraid to say but the Cards will lose another conf. game. Sam 78 Cards 69
9. Don't let Kerry fool you, he asked James who consulted with Greg Almighty and they told him what the forecast will be. BTW Coop, ask Greg for the forecast for the Austin area for the week of March 5-9. I would like to play some golf while I am out there for the state basketball tournament. ;D
10. Lamar is the most respected school whether they admnit it or not. SFA had its largest crowd....Lamar. They have to shoot lights out to win. Like I said, come tourney time, advantage Lamar. 51 second half points show LU figured them out. whoa buddy im sorry but Lamar wont beat SFA the rest of the season because Kyle Jacobs on SFA will dominate their world come tourney time. Axem Jacks Lamar wont and never will be SFA Never is a long time. I don't think anybody wants to be like SFA. These stats are not very impressive: NCAA Appearances 0 NCAA Record 0-0 Most Recent NCAA Appearance never Most Recent NCAA Win never who wants to be like lamar FOOTBALL TEAM 0 I thought this was about Lamar Basketball. Another ignorant fool trying to stir the pot. MWhizzie got that fool part down.

12. For me, I have been fortunate enough to broadcast 4 very good games so far this year. Kountze@Hardin, East Chambers@Kountze, Dayton@Nederland, and Big Sandy@Spurger. All really exciting games that went down to the wire.
13. Final Aggies 53 Red Raiders 68 The General gets his 900th win. He said in the interview that was by far their best game so far this season. Kind of makes the Lamar loss to Tech look better for the Cards.
14. My Aggies are getting their a** handed to them right now. Down 56-35 with 7:35 left. I kind of knew they were due for a klunker, but not this bad. They just never seem to play well against Tech.
15. Evadale by far.
16. Myself, I like to grade a player on everything they bring to the table, not just talent. There's leadership, positive attitude, team player, and other attributes that to me has to be considered when you talk of the BEST. Brown may be the most talented( jury still out for me ), but he would not be the first player I would pick for my team, not even the first guard. I think Coach Henderson sees that way too. I agree with Lazeek, if you are not playing because of discipline reasons, you shouldn't be considered.
17.
So I guess Jasper is more athletic than your Silsbee Tigers.  Bobcats took your tigers to the wire at your place and lost by two, yet Jasper wins by 7 at Orangefield.  That makes sense.
Actually, it could make sense. It's all about the matchups. Silsbee just doesn't seem to matchup very well with Orangefield, but they do with Jasper, beat them by 22 points but could have been 30 easily. Jasper on the other hand, may matchup better with Orangefield, who knows. But it is not beyond reason.
18.
You have next week's picked out yet?
Right now, I am going to wait till the results of this Friday's games are in. For Tues. 22nd games, I am leaning heavily towards a 22-4A match up. I am looking at the Dayton@Vidor game as a front runner. Also looking at the Ned@PNG, LCM@Ozen,and PAM@Humble games as possibilities. For the Jan. 25 Friday games, I got a couple down on the schedule but looks like I'll do the Ozen@Ned game but not certain just yet. I want to leave my options open. I have Hardin@Kountze and Spurger@West Hardin on that night that might be better options. Gonna wait and see. Will post them this weekend.
19.
AggiesAREWe-------------what did you think of the game.
First, let me start by saying it was a real treat getting to broadcast this game. I want to thank Spurger ISD for allowing me to do this. I also want to thank Coach Stapert and Coach Foster for the cooperation and genarosity, it was greatly appreciated. Good luck to both the rest of the season. As for the game, well for starters, Phillip Whittaker, WOW!!!!!!! What a great game this young man played, particularly that first quarter. Scoring 14 of Spurger's 20 points in the 1st, amazing, he was unstopable. Phillip finished with a game high 28 points and 12 rebounds. The relentless pressure that Big Sandy's guards apply finally caught up with Spurger. Several forced and unforced turnovers in the second half doomed the Pirates. The Wildcats clamped down on the inside and denied Whittaker the ball and forced the Spurger guards to win it. Big Sandy did not take their first lead until the 7 minute mark of the 4th quarter. It went back and forth for the next 4 minutes but then Big Sandy got a couple of steals and some defensive stops went on a 9-2 spurt that gave them the cusion they needed to pull this game out. I believe these are two evenly matched teams with the winner just making a few plays more than the loser. I believe it will be another close game the next time these two meet. Again, thanks for making the Setxsports.com game of the week another thriller. Looking forward to the next one, and the next one, and the next one...........
