Field Of Dreams For Area Youth!
AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
My son Reid, who has autism, plays in this league. It is the greatest thing since sliced bread. We gladly drive from Silsbee all the way to Bridge City every Saturday to play little league baseball. My son loves it and we do too. If anyone needs something to do on a Saturday, venture down to Bridge City and check out these very special baseball players. I guarantee you will get a treat in watching these kids play. -

Jasper at Silsbee Predictions?
AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Silsbee win's 5-3 -
I know this may sound blasphemous since I am a Silsbee Tiger, but I'm really hoping Jasper hires a coach that can turn that program around. It's just not right in the football world to have Jasper at the bottom of the pile. Last year's Bulldog team was one of the worst I have ever seen in all my years of watching Tiger-Bulldog games. Silsbee won the game 35-0, but they only played 2 1/2 quarters due to weather. Silsbee could have scored 60 on this team. The Jasper team was very unagressive and was one of the slower Jasper teams I had ever seen. I know Silsbee had a very good team this year, but in that game I was more suprised in Jasper's lack of talent than Silsbee's good play. It was pretty obvious and that is very unusual. After Jasper dropped down to 3A, I would have bet the house that they would not have a year like last year. Let's hope they get the right man for the job, those guys up there deserve it.

What has happened to the WOS baseball program? They really used to have some good teams over there. What's up? -

Predictions for district 21-3A
AggiesAreWe replied to shooter's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I agree, Silsbee had more talent on the basketball team last year than this year. They got beat by WOS in the third round last year after defeating them twice earlier in the year. This year's Tiger team was less talented but played better as a team. Silsbee does has some very good talent coming up but that does not always guarantee anything special. You still got to play the games. -
Three way tie in 3A?? From what I remember, HJ won district with a 13-1 record, Silsbee was second at 12-2, and WOS was third at 10-4. Where's this tie you speak of?
-
Silsbee's best college prospect for next year will be Daniel Paulous. He's a '6"4 305 pound tackle that is already getting a lot of looks from some Big 12 schools. Donovan Harris will be the Tiger's playmaker along with sophmore qb Johnson and junior rb Castle. Josh James at lb will be the defensive standout.

Hey Coop, lock this thread for lack of intelligence or just simply lack of interest. I am a Silsbee Tiger and even I think this thread is lame.

Well, at least one of your facts is the truth.

My bad, #5 is deserving.

Terrance Jones is Silsbee's big man and probably best player. Shannon Robinson along with William Harper are good enough for these teams also. Robinson is a soph while the other two are seniors. -

Another joke of a player poll. Not one player on either team from 3A regional finalist Silsbee. Poor basketball knowledge exhibited once again. -
Ryan Donahoe is the best player in Southeast Texas, period!!! He is the difference between HJ winning state and Silsbee winning state, no question. Yes, the Tigers did get in foul trouble in the regional final game, but that is just Silsbee's style, they do foul alot. Most very athletic teams do. I don't think the refs had anything to do with it except for if they called a loose game that would have been more of an advantage to the Tigers. But they didn't, and you just have to adjust to it. I'm a Silsbee Tiger, but I feel the better team won.
-
IMO, there is no doubt that Ryan would start for Lamar next year. The question is, is there interest in him from some bigger conference schools as of late? I really could see a Houston, Rice, Baylor, or another Big 12 or C-USA school offer him a scholarship. I think he is good enough to play in a bigger conference. I really don't think it will come down to just SLC schools on getting Donahoe.

That final 3A poll is a joke. Actually, the polls have been a joke all season. Silsbee not included in that final 3A poll is a slap in the face to the Tigers. I know that they are not officially the state runner's up, but IMO the Tigers are the second best team in 3A. They beat HJ by 19 in district, went to overtime in regional final after leading 99% of the game where that game could have easily been a different result, but the better team did win. But what I saw at the state tournament from the other three teams was teams Silsbee would have beaten had they been there. I think the HJ folks would agree to that.

*Hardin Jefferson 85 Silsbee 79 Final OVERTIME*
AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Silsbee's foul trouble ended up being their demise. Our big guys inside, Ahmad Jones and Marcus Brewer both fouled out early in the 4th, and our other inside threat, Terrance Jones picked up his 3rd foul in the second qtr., had to play defense conservatively the rest of the way. Also, our leading scorer for the game, William Harper, fouled out in the OT. Give credit to Coach Sutherland and the Hawks, they took full advantage of this like any smart team would do. They went at the Tiger's weaknesses down the stretch to get this game. IMO, Silsbee put's better athletes on the floor than HJ does, but the Hawks have better basketball players, particularly one great one. HJ's basketball savy proves the difference in the end. Congrats Hawks!! Now bring home that title to 21-3A. I'll be there rooting for you guys. Congrats Tigers!! Great season when really nobody was expecting one. 3 years in 3A, 2 regional finals, lost to Diboll 56-55 in 2005 and this year's final, not too shabby. Let's hope we can get over that hump soon. -

AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Silsbee not that good, huh? I guess having lost by 19 and having to go overtime in this one to a " not so good " team doesn't speak well of HJ. We all know that these are two very good teams, the Hawks are just a little bit better. -
*Silsbee vs. HJ Predictions?
AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The scores were Silsbee winning 77-58 at home, HJ winning 76-62 at home. Compute those scores and Silsbee is a 5 point favorite. lol -
