  1. Why is this relevant to the game time change of this game? C'mon Lazeek, your sarcasm is getting a bit over the top now. No worse than Granny, Master T and ST4Life. I am just defending my Hawks and everything about them. But they're not even on this thread. It's about the game time change for crying out loud. BTW, you're just stooping to that level. You are better than that.
  2. Why is this relevant to the game time change of this game? C'mon Lazeek, your sarcasm is getting a bit over the top now. Don't want to start confusing you with MWhizzie. ;D
  3. You guys and your game time changes, you are making it hard on me.
  4. Nobody said anything about ME giving 30. But, since you said it's "only money", how about $2,000, head up? It's only money. : ;D
  5. Congrats to all these players.
  6. Our 2008 version is posted at the top of the forum. Congrats to the players who made the list!
  7. I have heard that there have already been many advanced ticket requests!!! There are fans, bandwaggoners, college recruiters and even a man claiming to be from the Harlem Globetrotters coming to see "The Greatest Show on Earth" when they come to Sour Lake to play the Hawks on 1/30!!!! :o :o Better get your ticket early!!!! I am going to camp out near the HJ gym following the game on the 27th so that I can be in the gym to see this team play!!!!! Early lines out of Vegas have the Tigers as a 37 point favorite!!!!! : : : : Actually they dropped it to 30, they thought the game was in Silsbee. :
  8. Before you jump to conclusions, dont forget Legacy took WOS to overtime at a neutral site. Legacy won their game vs OF at Legacy. OF hasnt been playing well lately so they better get their act together by district. They play at Coldspring on tuesday, which is another good warmup for district since Coldspring will likely get 2nd in that district. If they can win that game, it will give them some good momentum going into district. Coldspring is not as good as they have been in the past. I saw them play 2 games over at the Barbers Hill tourney and they didn't look all that good. They lost both those games handily. Orangefield better beat this team but I said that about Legacy too.
  9. Bleed, come see Silsbee's new gym floor, I'll think you'll like it. Did they just add the new floor this year? Anyone have a picture, I'd love to see it. Just added it this year.
  10. Here is the link that shows the brackets for class 3A: [Hidden Content] Also, here are the districts with the list of schools in Region 3: District 17 Bullard Gilmer Gladewater Longview Spring Hill Tatum Tyler Chapel Hill District 18 Carthage Center Diboll Huntington Jasper Lufkin Hudson * Pollok Central * Rusk District 19 Groesbeck Lorena Mexia Robinson Waco Connally Waco La Vega District 20 Athens Brownsboro Crockett Fairfield Palestine Palestine Westwood District 21 Bridge City Hamshire-Fannett Orangefield Silsbee Sour Lake Hardin-Jefferson West Orange-Stark District 22 Cleveland Cleveland Tarkington Coldspring-Oakhurst Huffman Hargrave Liberty Shepherd Splendora District 24 Bryan Rudder Caldwell Cameron Yoe Madisonville Navasota Rockdale Taylor
  11. Better do your math again Tiger Dad. ;D
  12. Would the first place team out of the district have to play Cleveland or the 2nd place team? The first and third place teams out of our district would not face Cleveland until the regional final, if Cleveland wins their district. The second place team could face them as early as the third round.
  13. Bleed, come see Silsbee's new gym floor, I'll think you'll like it.
  14. I like KD, but I'm still a big Alvin Brooks fan.
  15. I am still sticking to my early season pick that Silsbee wins both games against HJ.
  16. WHERE ARE YOU???? Don't you guys support the basketball team as well?
  17. I almost predicted the attendence correctly. Total was 3,457, this is what I predicted on another thread: I say there will be less than 4,000 in attendance. Probably just over 3,000. I'll predict 3,237. I knew that some of you were wrong when you were expecting 4000-6000 at this game. Maybe if Lamar gets on a win streak the crowds towards the end of the season will get bigger.
  18. I think it's safe to say that Silsbee's schedule was tougher than HJ's. 70% of Silsbee's non-district schedule was against 3A teams and higher. Where as HJ's was 55%. Both teams faced off against 8 state ranked opponents but for HJ, 2 of those games were repeat games. Bottom line is, none of this guarentees wins for Silsbee over HJ. You still got to play the games. Each coach determines what he thinks is best for his team as far as scheduling goes. Todd has scheduled more non district games than what Travis has. HJ will have 27 non district games this year compared to 19 for Silsbee. HJ hosts there own tourney along with playing in the EC and AP tourneys which all are pool play type tournaments with only 3A and below schools playing these tournaments. Sutherland feels that's best for his team and I totally respect that. Travis wants to play his type of schedule and I respect that also. To each his own I say. There is no right or wrong in this. We could talk in circles all day about this but the only thing that will be accomplished is that the thread will get longer. My only hope is that HJ played too many games and runs out of gas by mid district. ;D
  19. Congrats to Legacy but I am sorry, I did not see this coming. What in the world is going on with Orangefield? They are a better team than this. I have seen Legacy play a few games this season and Orangefield should not lose to these guys. Bobcat fans, what's the scoop?
  20. Also, I want to add that Silsbee's new gym floor is awesome. It is one of the best looking floors I have seen this year. By far the tops in our district.
  21. This was a good team to play for Silsbee. College Park is about as good a coached team as Silsbee has and will face this season. I was very impressed with them. Constance was good like I knew he would be but the other 4-5 guards that CP threw out there were very quick and could handle the rock well. Their inside game was solid as Porter was definetly their best player down low. He reminded me of Silsbee's Stallworth but with a bigger body and more experience. The Cavaliers took advantage of their size and numbers over the smaller Tigers and made a run to start the second half that Silsbee never recovered from. They consistantly beat Silsbee down the floor to get some easy buckets and then played very solid halfcourt defense that caused the Tigers problems. Also, the Cavaliers were solid from the freewthrow line and were able to keep that 12-15 point cushion down the stretch. College Park is the defending district champs in district 14-5A and I think they will repeat as champs this year. Silsbee played good in spurts but was a little over matched. The Tigers were able to get some turnovers at times and I think they suprised CP with how well our small guards were able to get rebounds. Our inside players played in foul trouble most of the second half and the Tiger guards had to rely on the three shot to keep them in it. Shannon played well at times but also found himself dribbling into double teams and then turning it over. Hill played well and continues to draw fouls against bigger players. His ability to get down the baseline and position himself really is amazing at times. The Tigers made some three's but they will need some offensive scoring inside to make that outside game even better. Silsbee will be ready for district as no other team in our district has played near the schedule as the Tigers have. This will do them well for not just district but into the playoffs where the Tigers plan on making another deep run.
  22. Score was 45-39. That was not College Park's JV though, it was their Soph. team. College Park has a varsity with 12 players, a JV with 14 players, a soph. team with 15 players, and two freshman teams with 14 players each. About 70 players in their high school basketball program! Some of our small schools around here doesn't have that many out for football. It was a good matchup as Silsbee is all sophomores anyway except for the big man who is moving up to varsity next week. CP's soph. team had a '6"5, '6"6, and a '6"7 player on the team.
