  1. Final Silsbee 28 Bridge City 10 Silsbee probably had 3 times the yardage that Bridge city had tonight. Problem was, the Tigers had 6 turnovers. They only punted once tonight. The Cardinals were completely worn down by the end of this game. They were simply out maned, but they never gave up. I think the Tigers took alot from the Cardinals tonight. Bridge City had several players go to the sidelines with injuries. Silsbee size was just too much.
  2. Good to know, Lucky. We old farts need to stick together. Uh, I'm not sure that sounded too good.
  3. An old Ag I suppose. I'll give him a break. Thanks for the info Lucky. Of course,I can't say much since I'm 42.
  4. Did not know that SilsbeeD, thanks for the info. I knew we weren't going to their place next year, I thought it was just a 1 year deal.
  5. Aggie math?? It took this aggie to find the mistakes in George's stats, so I guess aggie math is a good thing. Besides, you know how anal we aggies are. LOL
  6. What teams are you talking about Coop?
  7. I am a little confused on the total offensive plays for Dayton. You have listed 35 rushing plays and 5 pass attempts, for a total of 40 plays, but you have 44 total plays in their overall stats. Where's the extra 4 plays, assuming these are accurate?
  8. The Silsbee-Houston Sterling game was just a 1 year deal, not a home and home. So, I would like Silsbee to replace them next year with another local 4A, like Nederland, Ozen, or Central. If not them, from what I understand, there are other Houston inner city teams willing to travel to play without a return game, so maybe schedule another one of those would be okay.
  9. 1. Silsbee 2. WOS 3. HJ
  10. Classic piratefan, classic.
  11. I probably will not get to the game until 7 at the earliest. Since the bridge is right where you enter the stadium, let's try for 7. If not, maybe halftime. Class of 87 here Whoooooooooooooooooop!!!!!
  12. If my wife doesn't have to work the concession stand, then I'll be able to come meet at the bridge. If she does, then I will have to stay up in the stands to take care of my son who is autistic. BTW, how did you Cardinal fans like the home side of our stadium last year?

  14. William Harper QB Silsbee 24 carries 159 yards 2 td 5-7 passing 87 yards 1 td
  15. Since Silsbee has built their new stadium, Tiger Stadium has hosted several playoff games. I think there has been at least 7 playoff games played there since it's opening. No turf there, but if Tiger Stadium had it, you would probably see more playoff games there.
  16. Hoping for congrats from everyone on this board shouldn't be that big of a deal for you guys. In fact, what any of us think or say about Lumberton football really doesn't matter. What matters is what the coaches and players for Lumberton think of themselves. Some of the Lumberton posters actually believe that their team deserves respect based on what they believe their team will do this year. That simply will not happen. You earn respect, not demand it. I have seen Lumberton play this year, they are better than they were last year. Might be even better than what most people thought they would be, I am one of those people. But when you have Lumberton people come on this board and post some of the remarks they have made, how can anyone take them seriously? Posts like: " We will be district champs this year", " everyone else is fat and out of shape", " In three weeks, we will be in the AP top 10 poll"( I know that wasn't on this board, it was on another), " We will dominate 22-4A" ect, ect, ect. When you make remarks like that, all you do is subject yourself to ridicule. Some may say that making those kind of remarks is just showing their faith, belief, or support of their team. Wrong. It's just total irrational thinking that comes off as arrogant and cocky. I know that most of the supporters for Lumberton probably don't agree with what some of their fellow fans have come on here and have said. I am not accusing all of Lumberton of being this way. It is nice to see Lumberton get excited about their football team, really it is. My wife teaches in Lumberton and she has seen a difference in the kids attitudes because of this show of support. But just take some humble advice, show some humility, don't let some of us come on here and rub the remarks you have made, in your faces. I copied and pasted this post from another thread. I think it may be more suited for this thread. _________________ Give me an army of West Point graduates and I'll win you a battle, give me a handfull of Texas Aggies and I'll win you a war. Gen. 17. Actually, I like what Silsbee decided to do a few years ago for their homecoming. They have decided to schedule homecoming for the best home game on the schedule, regardless of the date or what team it is. This year they have WOS as their homecoming and in the last few years they have had the likes of Jasper, Kirbyville, Nederland and Ozen as their homecoming opponents. This is in no way of offending their opponents. They just decided that they wanted their homecoming game to be the best home game on the schedule. To add more excitement to it, and maybe keep the players more focused on their opponent.
  18. I agree with some of what you said, bleed orange. Yes, Silsbee may not have met most peoples expectations for their football team since they have dropped down to 3A, particularly in the playoffs. The other sports have faired very well, though. We ran into a pretty good Palestine team our first year, and last year when we played them our defense played pathetic, probably their worse game of the year. What I don't agree with you on is the part about Silsbee sucking in 4A. Yes, those last 2 seasons were terrible, two of the worst in Silsbee's history. But, the Tigers went to the playoffs in 3 of those last 6 years in 4A, '98,'99, and '01. They went to the regional finals in '98, losing to LaMarque 20-14, who lost to Stephenville later in the finals. In '99, Silsbee lost to PNG 17-10, who also later lost to Stephenville in the finals that year. The Tigers had some success, I wouldn't say they sucked.
  19. No prob, bleed orange. Good to know you got some Aggie blood in you. You said your grandfather played for A&M in the 30's, did he play for the 1939 National Champion team?
  20. Doug Shankle was an all SWC linebacker for Texas, then got drafted by Philidelphia Eagles in the 3rd round. He played 4 years before knee injuries forced him to give the game up. I'm not real sure where he is now.
  21. If Silsbee is an average team, then Kirbyville must be below average since the Tigers have beaten them every year. Keep up the faith, the Wildcats may reach average status some day.
  22. Actually, I thought Harper made some pretty good reads on those last 2 drives, particularly the last game winning drive. He kept the ball alot on that drive but Newton was keying on the inside run and putiing a db on the rb that would take the pitch. Also, on the rollout pass plays, instead of Harper trying to force a pass, he would see a run lane and would tuck it and pick up considerable yardage. I do agree, the Tigers need to get more deversified, pitch it more and throw more short passes, not always throw the long one. I see Harper growing as a Qb and I see the Tiger offense getting better and better.
  23. Well, that all depends on how many players each team has as to who has the most heart. Everyone has one.... I hope. Okay, that was my smart ass answer for the day. Now, back to your regular programing.
