  2. Well, the Tigers have Orangefield, Bridge City, Hamshire-Fannett, WOS, and Hardin-Jefferson to play before they get to Kirbyville, so let's not get ahead of ourself. But if you insist, trust me, Silsbee does not fear Kirbyville.
  3. I agree, Newton Broadcaster, I agree.
  4. I don't think using the word "should" is the right way to put it. Could win, yes, but not should when you are talking about Newton. They have clearly shown in the past that classification means nothing to them. They have beaten many a good upper classification teams in the past and will so in the future. They have already beaten 2 big 3A schools this year in Crockett and Jasper. I believe they would beat Bridge City this year also, if scheduled.
  5. Well, like I posted earlier, at least you guys could enjoy one week at #1. Good luck rest of the year.
  6. Seven games left, all of them district games, Raiders finish 2-5 for a respectible 5-5 season. That's probably 2 more wins than most thought they would have this year.
  7. Actually, Silsbee had 3 defensive starters( 2 lineman, 1 lb ) and 1 offensive starter ( lineman ) not play. Also, Terrance McCarter, the Tiger's leading rusher coming into this game, played sparingly because of some injuries.
  8. The question was who was the best ATHELETE to come out of Lumberton, that doesn't just relagate it to football. If you are wanting the best football player then it would be T.J. Light. But for the best athelete in my opinion it would be PeeWee Langham.

  10. Enjoy your one week at #1, Newton. Tigers put Tatum back on top next week.
  11. Terrance McCarter of Silsbee has 19 carries for 303 yards and 4 tds. Averaging 16 yards a carry. Also, Rocky Calhoun of Silsbee has 202 yards on 26 carries but that doesn't put him in top 10 though.
  12. Bobby "Bubba" McGallion, son of former longtime Tiger coach Ray "Stud" McGallion.
  13. It's a no brainer, Silsbee at PNG is the game to see. This should be the game of the week, not Bridge City-Lumberton.

  17. Why is it such a suprise that Beasley redshirted? The great Vince Young redshirted his first year. To me it is actually beneficial for an athlete to redshirt his first year just to get his feet on the ground.
  18. What do I think of them? Well, that's the point, I don't think of them.
  19. LOL BHFAN, that's funny right there, I don't care who you are, that's funny.

  23. Both first teams ended in a 13-13 tie, Silsbee missed an extra point on one of their tds, while Lumberton was held to two fg's and a td. Silsbee did get to the Raider 10 on another drive but then threw an interception. Lumberton never turned the ball over and never gave up a sack, I was impressed. Both teams second team played the most of the last quarter (3rd) with Lumberton scoring with just a few seconds left. Silsbee needs work on their pass rush and their pass defense, paticularly passes in the flat. Silsbee ran the ball very well against the Raiders, but that was no suprise. Lumberton showed alot of moxy, they are showing the right attitude on the field. As for the question about the numbers, I was a little suprised myself. I actually counted the number of players out there. Silsbee had 40 players suited up for varsity, Lumberton had 32.
  24. I realize that Central and Hebert have to play each other because they are in the same district, but the question is, if West Brook has a problem with having to play Hebert at their home stadium all the time, then why schedule them? I know, I know, it's the Beaumont bowl series, but are they being forced to play them, or can Coach Stump schedule someone else if he chose to? Actually, I can see the validity in West Brook-Hebert playing at Cardinal Stadium, just a non-district game. But making Central play at Hebert every year for a district game is not right. Central should be pissed.
