Not even close! WOS, Silsbee, BC, HJ, OF, HF There are two that wrong.....how is that NOT EVEN CLOSE???? It's not close because it will be: 1. SILSBEE ;D 2. WOS 3. BC 4. OF 5. HJ 6. HF that ought to get the Stang fans a going. ;D

Sounds like the easy way to avoid that is win all your games. That way you don't have anything to whine about. I guess you have not looked at the tourney schedule. There is a possibility that as many as 3 teams could go undefeated in this tourney. Everyone doesn't play each other. That's why they came up with this tiebreaker system. You could win all your games and still be tied with someone.

A 10 point loss on the road to an 11-1 Aggie team, who probably should be a top 25 team, is not too shabby. Good for the SLC, I guess.

I agree, "aggie" will eat his words someday. Not only in basketball but football and baseball but not track. We have to work on that. ;D There's that "someday" quote. Right, and Silsbee will win the state championship in football, basketball, baseball, and track, in the same year, someday. My point is, even IF Orangefield were to beat Silsbee one time in the next few years, but then continue to lose to the Tigers after that, would still prove Silsbee's domination over Orangefield. A couple of wins over a 5-10 year period really isn't an improvement. It would more likely be a show of a down spike in Silsbee's program. Beeninnikes, you go ahead and put stock into those 7th and 8th grade wins. I have been around long enough to know that Jr. High(old school here) wins doesn't always correalate to Varsity wins. I have personally seen Silsbee's 7th and 8th grade teams go undefeated yet not do well at the varsity level. On the other hand, I have seen our 8th grade win only a couple of games yet when that group were juniors and seniors, they went undefeated in district and went deep in the playoffs. Most times on the Jr. High level, it's about coaching, or lack thereof, that determines how well that group does. Also, when you bring up the "almost" wins that the Bobcats had against the Tigers, I think it's only fair that you also post the 33 point blowout that Silsbee put on Orangefield last year. I am not denying that Orangefield is not getting better in basketball, but I still think they have a long way to go to be on the level with HJ and Silsbee. I put in bold some of the comments i noted on this post. The words i would use to describe these statements would be cocky and arrogant. Tell us how you really feel. lol. I mean really, how could anyone besides HJ ever expect to come close to the almighty Silsbee Tigers ever in their existence. And i guess what you're saying is if anyone ever does it will be a total fluke (like the 2 2 pt losses last year to OF were i assume by your statements) or just a total letdown on Silsbee's part because no one will ever surpass them. You're not going to make anymore fans of the Silsbee Tigers making comments like this on the board. In fact, all you really are making with posts like these is bulletin board material. Just confident, not cocky. And if you think I am concerned about getting more fans for Silsbee basketball, you're sadly mistaken. We got all we need. Also, if a fan's perspective of Orangefield basketball is bulletin board material for the Bobcats, then Orangefield's program is weaker than I thought. But I don't believe that to be the case. (the multiple user name is lame btw)

WHOOOOOP!!!! Perseverance pays off. Glad to have you aboard C-Mike! -
First of all, you get the .5 because of students that may have enrolled half way through the school year. Secondly, I'll never disagree that numbers makes a difference because they do. Lastly, if you are saying that Silsbee's basketball team is good solely because of the numbers, you are sadly mistaken. When we were 4A, we were not the biggest, yet we won district titles and advanced in the playoffs regularly. Silsbee has had a very good program, but I will admit it has been more advanced since we dropped to 3A. But I believe it's because the caliber of play is lower than what we played in 4A.

I voted #6. Any time you knock the helmet loose, that's a slobber knocker. -

Some day. Keep wishing, bleed. ;D Speaking of the girls teams, our Lady Tigers are gonna get their lumps this year. Take it easy on them, bleed. Coach Killam(sorry If I misspelled his name) is a good coach and a fine man. He will right the ship. Sometimes you have down years. Wish your boys would have one. Just one that all I ask. ;D Coach K is a class act. Yes he will right the ship. He had to do some culling this year. He is down to just 7 players on the varsity. The Lady Tigers will be back. Bleed, don't count on my Tigers having a down year in basketball as long as we are in 3A. This is Silsbee's 5th year in 3A and they have played in the regional final 3 out of those first 4 years. The other year they lost to WOS in the third round after having beaten them twice earlier in the regular season. WOS went on to Austin that year. So you could say that since Silsbee has dropped to 3A, the road to Austin in region 3 has gone through Silsbee. No other team in class 3A in any region can say that. Silsbee will return to Austin again this year making it 4 out 5 years in the regional final. I hope they do because it speaks well for our district and also for our small section here in southeast Texas. I don't know if you have looked at the brackets yet, but the third place team out of our district, should they win their first round game, would get a bye in the second round and would most likely face the champion of our district(Silsbee ;D) in the third round. Also, the second place representative in our district, would face Navasota in the second round.

Hey Cat22, if you ever have a problem with Gabe, let me know. I'll take care of him. ;D Thanks Aggies, but if I can't take care of Gabe by myself, then I have bigger problems. So true. ;D -
I got news for you, all championship rings are bought by the school. UIL, NCAA,NFL,ect...... do not buy teams rings, the winning team buys the rings for themselves. I guess the only difference is that this coach bought them and not the school. BIG DEAL! Kudos to you coach.

Yes, you are included. Maybe we would benefit but how do you know? Have you been in our shoes. No you have not. Do you understand how many years we have suffered in boy's basketball? I tried to pay you guys a compliment and you took it the wrong way. Happens on here all the time. I wish Silsbee nothing but success on the district race except against my BOBCATS. I wish you and your family and the people of Silsbee a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. All I ask is why some of you question our schedule? It's really not about you Aggie, you really did not but some others did and that is why I posted even though I brought up your quote. We're cool, bleed. I know that you are passionate about your Bobcats like I am about my Tigers. I just couldn't let you make the comment about being "scared" go without a rebuttal. I hope you and everyone in Orangefield had a great Christmas and will have a Happy New Year. Yes, we are cool Aggie. See you have the upper hand on the boys side but I have the upper hand on the girls side (Basketball). So we are even. I don't have any kids that play anymore but I still keep up with what the bobcats are doing just like you do with the tigers. We both support our teams and we should. Stay on your toes because the first time our boys beat yours, I will let you know about it. It may take a while on the boys side (Not the girls, Sorry I took a shot Could not help myself) but it will happen. We have some good young groups coming up. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Yes, you have the upper hand on the girls side, but the Lady Tigers have beaten the Lady Bobcats a few times. On the other hand, the Orangefield boys have never beaten my Silsbee Tigers. So I wouldn't call us even. Dam "Aggie" I was trying to jerk your chain, get the board going and you did not take the bait. I am impressed. The actual fact on the girls side is you guys have only beaten us once since 2005. So I am 3/4 even. Does that count? ;D ;D I do understand about the sponsorship. Was just trying to fire you up. It would be hard to choose what side to brodcast at Orangefield because both side draw decent crowds. Yes bleed, the Lady Tigers have "only" beaten Orangefield once since 2005. I guess we won't acknowledge any Silsbee wins prior to that.(btw, the Lady Tigers were the outright district champs in 2007) When I was referring to Silsbee boys never to have lost to Orangefield, that's what I meant "NEVER", not since 2005. It's not even close to being even when comparing the two programs.

It's all about the sponsors my friend. With the girls playing the same nights as the boys but in opposite places, had to go with one or the other. Trust me, regardless of how good our Lady Tiger basketball team is(and this is not a good year for them) we would not get the listening audience that the Silsbee boy's team draws. Therefore, our sponsors wanted the boys coverage. If possible, I may get a girls game in somewhere, but I am obligated to the boys for now. You know, you guys could get on board yourselves and get a broadcast team together and drum up some sponsors to do Lady Bobcat games. You get the sponsors, lot's of things can happen.

The streak ends. Us Rocket fans have to be happy. At least that's one thing we got over Boston, a longer winning streak.
