Texas High School Football Stadium Stats
AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Tiger Stadium's capacity is now 10,000. -
If I'm not mistaken, Silsbee and Jasper has the oldest rivalry. They have been playing each other since the birth of football I believe.

I go to the state tourney every year regardless of what schools are there. My dad and I have been attending the state tourney every year together since 1972, when I was 8 years old, haven't missed a year yet. This will be my 35th straight year to attend. My dad has not missed a year since 1958, he's working on 50 consecutive years by 08. I would have loved to have seen my Tigers there, but hey, that's how the ball bounces sometimes. Better luck next year.

Coldspring 65 Waco La Vega 63

If WOS makes it to Austin, then it could be said that their road to the final four went through district 22-3A. -
Coldspring 82, Barbers Hill 67 Final

I called this one. Coldspring very underrated. Where's my BH people? District 23-3A gone after tonight. -
Silsbee turned up the heat in the second half and blew Cleveland out by 32. Silsbee was down 28-25 at the half and then outscored Cleveland 54-19 in the second half for a very convincing victory. It was evident early on that the Indians would eventually tire as the Tigers depth and pressure defense turned to be too much for them to handle. Cleveland only played about 6 players while the Tigers continued to sub their usual 10-11 players. The Indians finally tired out and started committing turnovers and lazy fouls and Silsbee took the game over. Silsbee's depth and their relentless pressure defense along with their fast pace transition game will carry them to Austin.

Cleveland Boys 75 Bridge City 66
AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I have read three different scores for this game. This site has it 75-53, Channel Six has it 75-66, and the Port Arthur News has it 75-63. Only common denominator is Cleveland's score( and them winning ). Just curious how close this game really was. -

Silsbee could not host the playoff game because we are playing one ourselves that night. -
Cleveland Boys 75 Bridge City 66

Channel Six had the score 75-66, not 75-53. Which was it? -

Jasper/Diboll Tuesday in Lufkin..Predictions?
AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
If Jasper can keep the game low scoring they have a shot. Adams and Spoon both need to hit for 20 apiece. Prediction: Jasper 53 Diboll 50 -

Thompson named new Memorial Head Coach
AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I'm beginning to believe that things would have been better if there wasn't a consoladation. Let TJ, Lincoln, and SFA handle it themselves. At least there would have been more coaching opportunities. -
Word is, that Silsbee was on the road to get a turf field for Tiger Stadium until Miss Rita showed up. Now if any money is raised or donated, it will go to reparing the damage that she caused to some of the facilities like both gyms at the high school( lots of damage there, high school has been playing all their games at the middle school gym ). Money spent on a turf field now just wouldn't be an efficient way of spending the money. I still believe that Silsbee will be the first to get it in this area, not Beaumont. Ford Park, politicians, and school administrators just wouldn't agree on the spending to build a new stadium in Beaumont. Beaumont doesn't support anything anyway.

who will go the farthest in the playoffs
AggiesAreWe replied to hj27's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
In the local 3A, it's a clean sweep. Silsbee boys and girls make it to Austin( maybe I'm just wishing here ) In the local 4A, Ozen will probably go the farthest in the playoffs but they will not make it to Austin. I'm predicting them to lose to Houston Wheatley in Regionals. -
I know one thing PN-G/Ned can't hang!
AggiesAreWe replied to ESPN's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
If I read your thread right, you were talking about Nederland and PNG dropping basketball, not football. Make up your mind. If it's football, go to the football forum. Just to follow up on your Silsbee football comment, the Tigers will make the playoffs next year. They have quite a team returning, 11 all district players and 16 starters. -

Silsbee boys and girls basketball teams made it to the regional tournament last year with the boys losing in the finals by 2 to Diboll and the girls losing to Navasota by 1. I would say that's a little past the first round. -

I would say that Nederland and PNG have considered dropping basketball as much as Ozen has considered dropping baseball and golf. -
Shepherd should benefit more from that district alignment, especially on the travel part. Good luck the next 2 years.
-
Well, I may not have been in Shepherd( thank God ) but I have seen both Jasper and Shepherd play against my Tigers and I would have bet the house on Jasper winning. Losing the player you mentioned does hurt, no doubt, but even with him I say Jasper still pulls it out, but we'll never know. In regards to Silsbee-Shepherd games this year, it definetly would not have changed the outcome, especially losing by 50 to the Tigers last time. BTW, who are the schools in yall's new district next year?
-
Actually, I don't think there was ever any question of Jasper beating Shepherd, the pirates are just not very good.

Barber's Hill..Exciting Playoffs!
AggiesAreWe replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Looking at the playoff brackets, the only way Silsbee will play Barbers Hill will be in the regional finals. Silsbee will be there, but not Barbers Hill.
