  1. Horndawg, you should have come up to the broadcast table. We were right amongst the longhorn fans. ;D
  2. According to the WOS coaches that I talked to before the game, all of their players were there. Besides, that was not the first game back. That was the third game after the storm. You are reaching, TheRef.
  3. I'll repost this for my rebuttle: The question is not if Silsbee could run on WOS, it's can Silsbee run on HJ. Nobody has ran well against WOS, including the BIG BAD HJ run game . What, ya'll got maybe 25 yards rushing against the Stangs? Total offense of what, 40 yards? The Tigers had 210 yards of offense against WOS, 170 passing, 40 rushing. Yes, we only scored 7 points but if my math is correct, that is 7 more than what HJ scored. Also Silsbee had 170 more yards of offense than HJ. The Tigers will be able to run and pass on HJ, you can count on it. Defensively, the Tigers faired much better than HJ did or any other team has against WOS all year. We limited the Stangs to their lowest point and yardage total for the season and that was an overtime game to boot. WOS didn't get on the scoreboard until the 4th quarter. What, it was 20 to nothing at the half of ya'lls game. Silsbee may not shut HJ down like WOS did, but the Tiger defense is the next best thing.
  4. Yes, you got to love that tune. If you are home this Friday night, listen to our broadcast of the HJ-Silsbee game. I always start our broadcast off with that song, the original version. Pregame will start at 7pm. Tune in.
  5. and if that happens then they deserve to be sitting at home Agreed. Hopefully we'll play well this week and have some confidence heading into the playoffs. We're gonna need it... How good is chapel hill?? I hear Chapel Hill is top ten material. I am afraid that Chapel Hill will be too good for the Dawgs to handle.
  6. I am the first to say it is always about the match ups and not about who played who. But for conversation purposes, seeing that the Stangs have played both the Hawks and the Tigers, who do you guys consider the better team out of HJ and Silsbee? Why? I ask this because of some of the comments I have read on other threads regarding these two teams. Thanks in advance for all your input.
  7. You have got to be kidding me, after HJ shut down WOS running game, do you really think that Silsbee will be able to run the ball on HJ, Evidently they did not do so good running the ball on WOS, they only scored 7 points. Wake up Silsbee is no WOS. HJ by 3! Okay, someone please help me, I am trying to make sense of this post. The question is not if Silsbee could run on WOS, it's can Silsbee run on HJ. 8. Vidor has been eliminated. Even if Vidor beats Livingston and Lumberton beats Ned, Nederland would still have the tie breaker with Vidor with the head to head win. Livingston would not be tied because their record would be 5-2, not 4-3 like Vidor and Ned's would be. Also, even if Central were to lose to PNG and finish 4-3, Vidor still loses the three way tie because they have lost to both Nederland and Central.
  9. ROCKETS!!!!!!!! Houston 94 Boston 81 that's for you, Nos ;D
  10. As they say "Da Shore" takes this one. NS 42 WB 20
  11. This sums it all up. Good post.
  12. You wouldn't happen to work for the Waco Tourism Bureau? ;D
  13. I thought Joey was doing this game?
  14. Newton beating Kirbyville is not an upset. Never has been, never will be. Scooter, you may want to find some other upset to predict because this prediction is contridictory.
  15. Silsbee's offense continues to get better every week. Jeremey Johnson was very sharp in the passing game and Chris Barnes broke loose again with a good rushing game. Except for a little lull in the third quarter, the Tiger offense rolled, scoring td's on its' first 4 possesions accumulating 482 yards of total offense for the game. The Tigers only had to punt once as they scored on 6 of their 10 total possesions with 2 of those being kneel down possesions to end each half. Johnson was 15-20 passing for 214 yards and 3 td's, and had 12 rushes for 75 yards and 1 td. Barnes carried 9 times for 149 yards and 2 td's, one of those being from 80 yards. Johnson had a total offense of 289 yards and 4 td's. Also Chase Kelly has really stepped up in place of what was Silsbee's and the district's leading reciever. Chase had 3 receptions for 71 yards and 1 td. The Silsbee defense played well also, bending some but never really breaking. Silsbee stopped HF on 5 fourth down tries, particullarly in the 3rd quarter where they stopped 3 consecutive drives on 4th down. Josh James continues to be one of, if not the best defensive player in the district as he had 8 tackles and 2 int's. Josh Skinner had one of his best games with 10 tackles, with 5 of those being tackles for loss. All in all, a very good win for the Tigers as it clinches a playoff spot and gets some redemption for the loss last year against the Longhorns. Silsbee seems to be hitting their stride as they prepare to do some damage in the playoffs. p.s. Sorry about the bad audio last night. Bad headset and we had to do the game from the stands, no pressbox. Therefore we had to go the cellphone way and that creates lots of background noise. Sorry.
  16. The head to head only decides playoff seeding, not district titles. If two teams end up with the same record, they are declared co-champs. Both Lumberton, Livingston, Central and Nederland can get a piece, if not all of the district title this coming week. Only Lumberton and Livingston can win the district title outright.
  17. Ooooooookay. :
  18. As far as this website is concerned, the game of the week has already been declared. Nederland and Vidor is our Big School Game of the Week. Nuff said.
  19. I think everyone has missed the boat here on what is the most important game in 20-4A. It has to be the Nederland-Vidor game. That is a playoff game in it's self. The winner will go, the loser will stay home most likely. Lumberton, Central, and Livingston actually can lose a game and still go to the playoffs. BTW, that is correct in that if 2 teams are tied at the end of the year, they will be declared Co-Champs. The only thing head to head decides is playoff seeding, not district championships.
  20. I see it two ways: Nederland 38 Vidor 31 or Nederland 14 Vidor 17 The higher the score, the better for Ned. The lower the score, the better for Vidor.
  21. Yes they did. Silsbee finally got the offense rolling. The Johnson kid is something special. He only contributed on 20 offensive plays(9 rushing, 11 passes) but still had 312 total yards, avg 15.6 yards a play. Barnes finally had a breakout game, he was due.
