Don't know about HJ but Silsbee lost 2 starters and 1 key player off the bench. The biggest loss would be D.K. Howard, who avg. about 17 points a game. I do know that Silsbee has more varsity players back than what HJ has coming back.

I'll retract my post for the offensive winner if Dayton is considered in the Willie Ray Smith award area. Dayton QB Cody Green has the best offensive numbers so far this season. 111-171 65% 1,400yds 15 td's passing 62-500 yds 12 td's rushing 1,900 yds total offense and 27 td's -

I will say Michael of West Brook for offense but Johnson of Silsbee leads the area in total offense. On defense, very wide open. Josh James, strong safety for Silsbee is having a terrific year. -
I remember back in the early '80's that Dimmitt High School had a player named Rocky Rawls who was their best player and leading scorer. Everytime he scored, Phil would come across the PA with "RRRRRRRRRRRRocky RRRRRRawls!!". Classic!

Hey Joey, Kerry had already beat you to the punch. There is already a thread with this article in it.

Dayton vs Lumberton Bi-District round
AggiesAreWe replied to Skilled95's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
To answer your question about them being in the same division, the answer is yes. If both make the playoffs, both will go Div.2. Now, if they play the first round will depend on how each finishes in their districts and what schools out of their districts go Div.1. -
I have been going to the state tourney since 1972, I haven't missed a year since. Working on 38 straight years. The one person that I will always attach my memories of the tourney other than my dad who himself has made 50 straight tourneys, is Phil. He was what we always called him, "the man at the mic". The last few years he hasn't been doing as many games as he had been. His introductions of each team at the beginning of the games were priceless. You are so right, he will be terribly missed.

Liberty Hill is in Region 2 this year, I was only speaking of Region 3.
-
WOS will most likely be D2. Only way WOS goes D1 if Silsbee doesn't make the playoffs. Actually Bridge City has a higher enrollment than WOS but it doesn't look like they will make the playoffs. If you are talking about just region 3, then I would say in D1 it would be Navasota, D2 would be Gilmer.

The Anahuac-Kountze game at Silsbee's Tiger Stadium will be broadcast live here on Saturday. Pre game will be at 3:45pm with kickoff at 4pm. Silsbee Tiger broadcast team of Mike Sanchez and Wayne Brasher will bring the play-by-play and color analysist. Listen in to another great Setxsports broadcast of this 23-2A battle.

No frills here, just business. Silsbee period

Jacob Keifer is a freshman starting inside lb for the Silsbee varsity.

I will be the first to say that it is a big loss but not a devastating one. Two starters, one being one of the leading recievers in the district and also the punter, the other their top linebacker, reserve rb, and punt returner. This alone would impact any team let alone what the circumstances that led to these two not playing. I believe the Tigers will overcome this, but it is obvious it weakens the team.

Wow---concern for the team? don't you think that is misplaced to say the least? Misplaced? I believe it's a valid question. I know Roundtree was their top downfield WR. He will be missed on the field for sure. Valid--maybe--- but at best terribly innapprpriate and at worst disgusting----players were charged with sexual assult of someones daughter, sister, etc---the concern should go to the victim only----IF guilty the perps will rot in heck I think that he meant that it is a valid question because this is a SPORTS message board, not a blog on social commentary. My question would be does the football player turned witness have an agenda. Was he second string and might possibly be making his path to start easier by naming names and getting them off the team. The girl didn't even know who the boys were, supposedly. quite a stretch Maybe. But an investigative reporter worth his salt, who knows that there are two-sides to every story, would already be asking these type questions. The fact that they haven't been asked makes me proverbially weep for our media outlets. Another question would be why she went into a room with three guys, her being the only girl to do so. Was this typical behavior? Was she dating any of the three boys at the time? If so, had either he or she been talking about a potential break-up? A good investigative reporter would have already asked her colleagues these things. Believe it or not, these things happen. And if a newspaper can find out in one day that the hose where the party was held had a history of drug related incidents, wouldn't there have been talk about town of these things. Why didn't the father know where his daughter was. He is so vocal to the media, but why haven't they asked if he was the one to drop er off or not? If not, why didn't he? Did he not know about the house in the community? Did he give his daughter a curfew? Did he think she was with friends? Investigative reporting, people. If I can think of these questions it is sad that the media can't. a girl dropped off at a party is not to blame for being raped--IF it happened--niether is a father to blame for someone raping his daughter---I do not need Wayne Docifino to tell me that No, a father is not to blame for his daughter being raped -- if she really was -- but he would be to blame for dropping his daughter off at ahouse where questionable things had happened in the past -- if he knew about it. Did he? I guess we'll never know the way this is being so sloppily reported on. Investigative reporting does not attack the alledged "victim" like so many people think. If done properly, it does help clear the mud and get all the facts. Our media outlets are not doing it and seem happy to let the boys be demonized and assumed guilty by the general public before a trial. That is not ethically acceptable for any form of media -- TV, print, or radio. Bravo!!!

Orangefield-Silsbee predictions

Thanks for the correction, Master T. I was told the 16 year old had been starting on defense the last couple of games.
