Second half about to start.

It's funny that you use the anology that Vidor hasn't played anybody, yet who has Lumberton played that's a world beater? I'll put Central up against any of the teams that Lumberton has played so far. The fact is, both teams played a somewhat weak non district schedule, both teams came out of it 2-0. Now district has started and though Lumberton maybe 1-0 and Vidor 0-1, it will be pretty obvious when the season ends that Central will be by far the better team over Livingston. In fact, I still stand by my prediction that the Jaguars will win district. I think Lumberton will win this game, but they are not head and shoulders better than Vidor. This one will be close.

You can watch the Bmt. Kelly-Silsbee game tonight on Time Warner Ch. 18 at 7pm. Also both halftime performances will be shown.

Just to clarify the offsides penalty on the onside kick try. Both refs, one on the Vidor sideline and the one on the Central sideline, threw their flags when the ball was kicked, not after the recovery. Our broadcast booth was right on the 40, clearly on offsides accured. Yes, Coach Mathews was upset, but he thought the lone ref on his sideline made the call alone. He did not realize that another ref made the call also from the far sideline. They got the call right. Besides, they still recovered the second one. From my unbiased standpoint, the referees did not determine the outcome of this game. It's a joke if anyone is implying that. : Thanks Joey for the compliment. I am glad I was able to make that game the best you have done all year. ;D

They don't have "one of", they have THE best winning percentage in the state. I think that WOS is at the top of this list no doubt. As for year in and year out success, no team in this area is even close. One losing season in their history. I totally agree. As for programs, the Stangs are at the top. Now if you are talking about traditions and support along with the on field success, then you have to go with PNG.

If that is the case, why aren't they playing college ball somewhere? There was another offensive lineman from district 21-3A last year that is pretty good. Daniel Paulson of Silsbee, got a full ride to McNeese St. Not too shabby, seems to be better off than the two you have mentioned.

Actually I haven't looked at the current roster. There is no need because I've looked at it for the past 20 years and the same results. The recruiting period brings about overrated bios on most of these players. If they were really good, they would have signed at a major D-1 school. I wonder if this kid lost his scholarship at Utah? I am a little confused with your posts, BLUEDOVE. Are you implying that folks on this board believe Lamar is on an even playing field with the major D-I schools across this country and should be getting major D-I recruits? Or is it that you think Lamar fans try to make mountains out of molehills with the recruits they get?

I was thinking this could be a booster club responsibility. Let the club raise the money to fix it and let the school use their funds where it's more needed. Just my 2 cents. I told him I would and could get it done. He said he would take care of it. All I needed was the school to work with me. I didn't need anything other than information from them. Exactly what the piece said that needed to be replaced. Who built it in the first place, etc... I offered to take care of the rest. Now there is more damage to the sign. well hate to hear that.. most of the time you don't have people to help out ,and then when you do its the other way around. I would stay on him though..hold him to his word and make it where them kids are proud of there facilities. The problem is there is an easy "out" now. We need to spend the money on the school that was flooded. We need to spend it on this or that. It's hard to argue now. That's why I was suggesting the booster club take care of it. Just take the "bull by the horns" and do it. Although I do realize that's easier said than done.

Again, we can all watch for ourselves Wed. night and make that determination. I will say that having broadcast the game myself, I was privy to the replay monitor in our booth, it was the right call, Prewitt did cross the line before he passed, very close though. Also, where the ref spotted the catch, it actually ended up being a yard short of the first down marker, so the penalty really didn't matter. Everyone in the pressbox wondered why they were even discussing the penalty.

Well Im not really sure what game you were watching but #50(Meighen) was going 1 on 1 with skinner all game long until the end of the 4th quarter when skinner decided not to come to his side for the rest of the game. Also Im not really sure when skinner got to the backfield but I know he didnt have more than one guy on him. Do you know how stupid that sounds to TRIPLE team a defensive end. Obviously not the game you where watching, I was on the 47 yard line about 20 rows up, not on cloud nine where you obviously where if you could not see that. And its not to stupid to TRIPLE team a defensive end every now and then. Hey, am not taking anything away from this game or what any player did. In my last post I said "sometimes" he was tripled teamed, not all the time. # 50 did a good job, but there was help. You sound like it was one on one all game long. I'll tell you what, I'll watch the film on the game again, just to make sure. I love watching a good football game. STiger85 and BWW, you guys can settle this argument by watching the game on Wed. night, 7pm on Time Warner channel 18. Watch and DVR it, then you can see who did what.

Being 0-3 after playing the likes of Gilmer, Kirbyville, and Nac isn't all that suprising. Only game I favored Jasper in was the Kirbyville game and they had their chances to win that one. Still lots of football to be played.

Johnson's 3 td passes were for 80, 54, and 29 yards. That's 163 yards in those three completions. His other 8 completions covered 54 yards, avg. about 7 yards a completion on those. His first pass of the game was a 75 yard touchdown pass that was called back for a block in the back penalty. It was a spot foul, so the net gain on that play was about 22 yards. I knew Jeremy had to be getting close to 200 yards rushing when every time he rushed the ball in the second half he was getting about 10-15 yards.

Not fooling anyone. Seeing that this is your only second post, I'll just suggest you go back several pages on this messageboard till you run across the threads that pertained to the WOS Off. Co. and you will see what I am talking about. I am just going by what some WOS fans say, the OC calls the plays, not Dan Ray.
