  1. I believe there are some WOS fans that will disagree with you in regarding Coach Hooks and the play calling. From what I hear from them, it's not Hooks that calls the plays, particularly the bad ones. As for this post, I am quite sure that most if not all Jasper fans are very glad Coach Brooks is back in Jasper.
  2. This should be another high scoring game. Both defenses have given up plenty of yards and points so far this season. Both offenses have done quite well. With that said, Tigers take the Dawgs, 7-6. ;D
  3. They are gaudy. Silsbee junior QB Jeremy Johnson finished with 20 rushes for 217 yards and was 11-20 passing for 217 yards, 3 td's, 1 int. 434 total offensive yards!!
  4. For Kelly, QB Prewitt and DB Schrapps For Silsbee, QB Johnson and LB Turk
  5. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves here. Since WOS dropped to 3A, they have yet to kill Silsbee.
  6. Couldn't have said that any better.
  7. The Beaumont Monsignor Kelly Bulldogs come to Tiger Stadium tonight to take on the Silsbee Tigers. Hear this game LIVE, tonight, with the voices of Silsbee Tiger football, play-by-play Mike Sanchez (AggiesAreWe) and color man Wayne Brasher (Tigersvoice). Pre-game will start at 7:10, with kickoff at 7:30.
  8. From what I was told by Silsbee coaches, District 21-3A schedule will not be altered. It is still scheduled to start on Oct. 10, just like it would have normally. Silsbee will play Kelly this week on what would have been the Tiger's off week, then play host to Jasper on Oct. 3, then start district on Oct. 10 at WOS. Silsbee lost a home game with Lumberton and an away game with Newton, but pick up a home game with Kelly to give the Tigers a nine game schedule. From what reports I heard from the Bridge City sup, he stated that they would play a complete district schedule in both football and vollyball. I haven't heard anything from the Orangefield, HF, or WOS school districts. Of course, this is subject to change, depending on everyone's circumstances.
  9. I believe the Fema funds are based on a county being declared a disaster area, not if it was a mandatory evac area. Someone please correct me if I am wrong on this.
  10. i'm already evacuated, but in normal situations i'd be up for a game. do you play often? I have a regular game every week, rotates around three places, have a monthly game in Buna, and I play at the boats about 6 times a month.
  11. Family went to our farm house in Cushing, I am staying here in Silsbee. Anybody up for some Texas Hold'em?
  12. This is true about Coach Credeur, he will not run it up. But that will not be the reason why this game won't be a blow out in Lumberton's favor.
  13. Thanks for that clarification, Cat22. I thought it had to be 5 days between games and not able to play on the 5th day. The part I put in bold was done repeatedly last year in the sub-varsity teams. You know who you are.
  14. How can that be? Both these teams played Saturday night, which falls under the 5 day rule. They would have to get the UIL approval.

  17. I guess my logical ways are starting to rub off on you, Gabe. ;D You are correct in asking what's the good in moving the games up. If anything they should be pushed back or not played at all.
  18. Explain to me how missing one non district game could hurt a teams chances of making the playoffs. As for the baseball comparison, thats apples and oranges. Football much more difficult to change than baseball.
  19. I am thinking the same way, scooter. Why not move them back? That way, it would give more time to evaluate the sitiuation. It would be just like last week. If it doesn't pose a threat, then you got time to play the games. Moving them up only creates more havic. Plus, you wouldn't have to worry about the UIL 5 day rule.
  20. Yeah Kerry, didn't you tell me that Jim Cantore was your hero? ;D
  21. Correct. I believe the UIL could agree to pass a waiver to the 5 day rule under these circumstances, but I don't see it happening. The UIL would see that none of these games would have nothing to do with playoff status, and would question why it would be necessary to play them. With an impending storm and evac on the horizon, it just would be silly to push these games up.
  22. All of these games really mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. These are not district games so it's really not necessary to play them. Playing these games does nothing for a teams playoff status. I totally understood why the games last week were pushed back to enable them to be played. But I would not understand moving any up this week with what could be taking place here in our area. If there were a mandatory evac declared for Thursday morning, why on earth would anyone agree to play a Wednesday night game? Wouldn't most folks, including the coaches, players, officials, and volunteers be busy that night getting prepared to evac the next morning? C'mon folks, let's use a little common sense here.
  23. I will reserve my predictions for our preview show tonight.
