Be careful with that word "NEVER", it can come back to haunt you.

NO CARTS!!!! That rules me out of ever playing. This heat is terrible. In our invitational last week, we went through 25 cases of bottle water a day and used over 30 kegs of beer. That's not even counting how many cases of soda we went through. Also, every cart was rented each round, morning and afternoon, players and spectators. We started watering our greens immediately after each round because of how dried up they would get by the end of the day. We watered till midnight each evening just to keep the greens in good shape. The fairways remained hard and fast, couldn't get enough water on them without the help of rain. I personally drank at least 6 bottles of Gatorade each day during the round, along with "other" beverages.

Hey, we tried to do Bridge City games in the past, but the BC administration turned us down. They wanted nothing to do with us.

I have not seen anyone say that WOS is a place someone would hate to go to. I only posted that it is a tough place to climb the stairs. ;D

I don't think the Raiders will lose to Silsbee. But then again I know you are biased just like I am. When was the last time Silsbee beat Lumberton? Had to be in the 90's. '99 was the last time Silsbee beat Lumberton. Lumberton has a current win streak of 4 games but these two teams have not played each other since '03. The overall record is 15-5 in Silsbee's favor. Silsbee has scored 598 points and given up 206, averaging about 30 points a game while giving up just 10 all time against Lumberton. Silsbee has 8 shutouts against the Raiders while Lumberton has recorded 1. They have played just 8 times since '92, splitting those 8 games. They played 12 seasons in a row from '78 to '89, the first 12 years these two teams started playing each other, and Silsbee won 11 out of the 12. They have since only played the 8 times in the last 18 seasons. Silsbee will stop that win streak this year.

I took joy in winning $500. Had it been me winning the same money for LSU losing, my joy would have been the same.

As for fans, it is Cleveland. Stadium conditions, Hamshire-Fannett. Rivalry, Jasper. Plus the parking is atrocious there. Refs, I never believe refs cost anyone a game. Ect, WOS, because Dan R. Hooks Stadium took half my big toe last year. OUCH!!!!!

The predicted starting five for Silsbee will be '5"9 Hill, '6"2 Lane, '6"4 Stallworth, '6"7 Barnes, '6"7 Thomas. But, Silsbee may not start both bigmen. They could go with '6"0 Bolton, '6"2 Harris, or '6"3 Johnson on the wing. :o No shooting guards!!!!! Totally different team for Silsbee this year. Last year with Byers, Walters and Robinson shooting outside and now teams should be able to pack it in on them and make them beat you with the bigs or beat you from outside. Very true, Lazeek. I spoke with Travis and Ira and they both commented that this will be a very different Silsbee team this coming season. They will try to take advantage of their size and make it a half court game. You will most likely see scores in the 40's, 50's, and 60's from the Tigers rather than the 70's, 80's and 90's. They still have a couple of shooters coming up from the JV, but not as prolific as the three that has graduated. It will be very interesting to see this type of Silsbee team play. One advantage I see, we will have a taller PG('6"2 Lane) which should enable him to get some passes inside.

The right fielder Mitchell was impressive too. Great speed and very good bat.

we'll see who's crying in Pasadena in January time for a lil payback--if LSU can hold their part of the deal Newsflash!! Neither team will be playing for a National title come January. Speaking of football, how about those two football players that LSU had playing? My wife and I was very impressed with the safety that turned outfielder to relief pitcher. He did an outstanding job in the 2 innings he pitched last night.

Like I said, I went where the money was. I would have enjoyed making $500 off of an LSU loss just as much as the tu loss. The problem was, I could not get any LSU fan to bet me. Either they were scared or tu fans are just born suckers. ;D My wife pulled for LSU because she has ties to that school, even though she is an Aggie.
