  1. He would really look great in maroon and white. Gig'em Christian.
  2. Hmmm? Yall are on their schedule as the first scrimmage? [Hidden Content] Click on 2008 schedule..... I was under the impression that we were scrimmaging Nederland also. Could be a misprint on our season ticket letter, wouldn't be the first time.
  3. And the purpose of this thread? Oh I know, to get your perverbial shot in. It never ends.
  4. and what is there an abundance of... 1. Critics 2. Whiners 3. Complainers
  5. According to the letter mailed out to season ticket holders, Silsbee is scrimmaging Bmt. Kelly and LCM. Did not see Nederland on the schedule.
  6. Right on!!! Maybe you can get through to him.
  7. I already have mine, but not because of Ozen. I go every year anyways but I'll be watching my Silsbee Tigers there again this year.
  8. That's harsh. Is there anyway we can get UNLV kicked back to UNLV? UNLV is an enthusiastic supporter of Lamar and there's nothing wrong with that. Exactly. All I want for Lamar is the best of the best. The best conference Lamar can get into, the best stadium, best recruits, the best everything yet that pisses off so many. We all want the best for Lamar. It's just that most of us realize that Lamar does not have carte blanche when it comes to conference, facilities, and players. We know they do not have the money to provide these opportunities but enough to get the ball rolling and to build from there. For some odd reason, you don't understand this concept. Now if you are proposing that Lamar wait till they get enough money to build these bigger and better facilities and go FBS, then I can understand that. But it seems you think they can do that right now, and that's just absurd. You're in LALA Land. No, its people like you who nay say everything. You lack an imagination and vision to see anything that could be great. Lamar and Beaumont went 40 years without growth because of leaders who think like you. I like to use Kemah as an example. I'm sure you and many others would have said, one day before construction on the boardwalk started, this guy is an idiot to build a tourist resort in this dump. You lack that vision. I am a true believer in build it, build it right, people will come. I watched it work for years in Las Vegas. I'm watching it now in Galveston and Gilchrist. I'm happy Beaumont in waking up and abandoning your way of thinking. I'm happy Dr Simmons do not think the nay sayers way. Lamar built Cardinal village, Lamar built them right, people came to fill them. Lamar has started football, if Lamar don't do it right, people will not come. PERIOD... You are leaving out one important fact with your examples. All those " visions " had the financial backing to do those things with, Lamar doesn't, at least to the high standard that you want it to be. There's nothing wrong with starting at the bottom and working up. Many a great thing has been built that way. Trust me, I am not a nay sayer. I want Lamar to go big time, but I know it will take some time to do it. There is no quick fix here. I have the patience to give Lamar the time they need to get there. I do have some insight to what's going on at Lamar with the football program. I'll just say, it will take longer than expected with the type upgrades that you are wanting. That doesn't mean that Lamar can't be successful. I believe they will because of who they have in charge.

  11. Actually, it's 7 Fridays away or 47 days away or 6 weeks and 5 days away or a little more than a month and a half away. Pick your poison. ;D p.s. I refused to break it down into hours and minutes, would make my head hurt.
  12. It's easy to make the playoffs these days---especially in 4A but please remind me again how many playoff appearence PN-G had when they were 5A. Oh yeah, 0.... Back on topic: My question to you self-righteous PN-G people, if RTG didn't have a place to play, would Burnett the Benevolent extend the sacred Reservation for PAM to play in? If Burnett did, the community would probably let out a big war cry and say a collected 'No' to PAM. And I will maintain this posistion until proven otherwise.... That's technically incorrect there SFA85. Seeing that in the 70's when PNG was making several playoff runs including state championships, it was done in the top classification, 4A, which is now class 5A. Just the number changed in the class, but it is still the top classification. I thought a man of your intelligence would know this. I guess the hatred has blinded you.
  13. Why Orange? Beaumont and Port Arthur have put out more Hall of Fame players.
  14. I did not realize that the city limits of Orange included the communities of Mauriceville, Little Cypress and Orangefield. I thought they were their own communities, towns or cities, which is why they have their own school districts. Sorry for my bad assumptions.
  15. I know since Silsbee dropped down to 3A four years ago, they have had 41,38,38,33 suit out for varsity. Don't know the total numbers from freshman to senior.
  16. Some?? You mean one of you guys. Pretty obvious who that one is.
  17. Milestone. Now all I need to catch Coop on posts is 44,967 more. Also need 13,824 topics started to catch him on that, all I got is 80. And the ultimate measuring stick, I have 28 days, 20 hours, and 44 minutes spent on this site, but I am 266 days, 2 hours, and 14 minutes behind Coop in most time on site. I am 9 months preg... I mean 9 months behind. Somebody steal Coops computer!!!!!!
  18. Best team: in person, 1983 Dangerfield, on film, 1976 Beaumont Hebert Best game: in person, 1992 Silsbee vs. Nederland, on film, Plano vs Tyler John Tyler. Best player: in person Michael Bishop, playoff game against LCM, never left the field. He played qb, safety, was the punter and kicker and returned kickoffs and punts, he simply beat LCM by himself. On film, Eric Dickerson.
  19. I understand about some industries closing and Rita causing population to drop in Orange. What I am questioning is what is the population in Orange right now? Is it the 18,000 that was posted earlier? If so, how can you have that many in the city limits and have less than 700 in high school? The numbers just don't make any sense. I compared Silsbee's numbers ( city pop. 6360, high school 843 ) and it just doesn't seem possible that WOS has that few numbers based on the cities population. Something else has to be driving students away from that school distict or the numbers are way off. Yes, the PERCEPTION is that the only thing that matters at WOS is football. I have seen the other sports digress over the last few years ( exception, that one year in basketball and track, which is football related ) and their UIL academic teams and their band. Their band has really fallen off over the years, I believe making 4's at contest the last few years, though I could be wrong on that. Bottom line is, yes several schools in our area have been hurt by the economy and other things beyond our control. But I think WOS has been hurt more so than others because of some things they could control.
  20. That's so true, abtr. If that were to happen, my wife would be the first to picket the gates at Cardinal Stadium in protest of it. You got to have the band.
  21. Other than WOS, huh. Funny, no team in that crappy Liberty district can beat Silsbee.
  22. That just about says it all.
  23. Just another failure waiting to happen. I think Beaumont has proven over and over again that it cannot support a professional sports franchise.
