Much better defensively than they did against Diboll. Actually made more emphasis on running the ball this game, only passed 16 times last night, had 39 rushes. Very evenly played game between these two teams.

If Newton took Silsbee for granted (which I don't think they did) then shame on them. That's poor coaching. Newton had some turnovers, but the Silsbee defense caused them. Both teams played well at times and poor at times. But I digress, back to this topic. I just don't see a Curtis Barbay Newton team losing to a one-dimensional football team. The DC at Newton, Robby Hatton, is just too good a coach to let a run only offense get the best of them. I think this game will be closer than what some thought before this season started, but Newton gets the win by 3 TD's, 42-21. Orangefield's defense will be their demise in this game.

Jasper's fellow district mate Center put a stomping on Spring Hill last night. Hey Coop, looks like your savior Spring Hill will not make the playoffs this year. Chapel Hill will get third in that district behind Gilmer and Tatum, sending Gilmer to Div. II. ;D

Yea you guys really put a hurting to us and you got it pegged Einstein. We played Northshore fella...a 5A powerhouse who has 3 times the enrollment than us. I'd say 44-34 is respectable however if you disagree I'm sure Lumberton could call Northshore and schedule them next year and find out for themselves what we were up against? Coog88, looks like LaMarque is starting to get that old swagger back. That's a very good showing against a great North Shore team.
