Look Dick, if you read my post carefully, I never said that Yates was a top 5 or a honorable mention. I just mentioned that team because of the wealth of talent they had that year and if better coached they could have been worthy of a top 5 listing. You are right, it was Carvin not Carl. As for Ozen goes, they were very good that year, but not top 5 good. Maybe a top 15-20 team of all time. The 2001 Willowridge team, the LaPort team that was mentioned, SOC 2006, a FW Dunbar team, and a couple of others would round out a top ten in my book. Ozen could make top 20, but there are several teams from the 70's and 80's that I thought were better. Just my opinion, of course.

It is my understanding that Harris will be back around the 4th game of the season. Progressing very well. To answer the question about what type scrimmage it will be, it will be a controlled scrimmage, no game type.

Kirbyville vs Silsbee 2007
AggiesAreWe replied to k-villeballa's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
This year, this year, next year, next year..... heard this before. Balla, you are getting so repetitive, kind of like the Silsbee wins over the mildcats. -
Beaumont Enterprise shows you what shotty reporting they have. In the article it stated that WOS was the only district foe to beat Kirbyville last year. I guess a 42-32 win by Silsbee in the mildcats backyard doesn't count as a win. BTW, the mildcats have never beaten Silsbee, ain't that right balla.

Yes, that was a great game. Actually McGuire had 454 yards rushing and around 600 yards all purpose that night with 6 td's. Final 48-44. The funny thing about this was McGuire breaks his leg in the last regular season game against Jasper and then we face Nederland again in the first round of the playoffs. We thought we were doomed without Jay. But the Tiger coaches made some defensive changes and instead of playing zone coverage against Nederland they went man and blitzed on just about every down. Silsbee had about 10 sacks that game and won 34-7.

Trust me, Silsbee and Lumberton will never merge. -
Predictions For Your Team's Record This Season

Silsbee has 4 offensive and 5 defensive starters returning. I believe they have 7 all district players back. -

It's called a messageboard. Everyone on here is a coach, didn't you know that? There's also team owners, superstar players and hall of famers on here. Which are you? Like I said, it's a messageboard, you can "preach" your sermon, and everybody else can too. It's all just opinions. -

Best Returning Athlete in SETX?? WHO IS IT?
AggiesAreWe replied to WarriorSports's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I like Silsbee's Donovan Harris. Plays both sides of the ball, reciever and safety. He's got speed to burn, 3A state 110 meter hurdle champion. Question for you WOS fans. Will Garrett play defense this year along with being the Stangs running back? -

LOL!!! Good one WOS92. I'm pretty sure when the mods see your post it may not last very long, but it's still classic. -

Who is the better team Silsbee or WOS and why?
AggiesAreWe replied to txsundevils's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
There is no doubt who has the better football program between Silsbee and WOS, it's WOS hands down. But I do think the question of this thread was just asking about this year's upcoming Tiger and Mustang teams. Like you said WOS92, that remains to be seen. -
I believe WOS92 was pointing out the score from last year between them and Kirbyville for balla's sake. I don't think he was predicting this score for this year between the Tigers and the Stangs.

Who do you think will be 21-3a Champs for 07?
AggiesAreWe replied to ItsMeSnitches's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Seeing that I work the pressbox ( spotter ) for Silsbee home games, I will have a birds eye view of the fabulous #24 from Kirbyville. Knowing that there is no way you can live up to the smack your spewing, I should have everyone up in the pressbox rolling with laughter with my comic comments about your play, including your own coaches. Probably won't have to comment much, your own play will be a big laugh in it's self. Like kicker posted earlier, I'll pray for your safety. Then again, maybe I won't. -
I loved that game that Silsbee beat Marlin in 1977, but I'll have to take the '98 first round win over undefeated and #2 ranked WOS, 21-20. WOS actually beat Silsbee earlier in the season 17-0 in a quagmire.

Kirbyville vs Silsbee 2007
AggiesAreWe replied to k-villeballa's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Seems like I have heard this before. Oh yea, from the last three seasons, that's where I've heard it. Until the mildcats actually prove it on the field, your comments and predictions are meaningless. Balla, your mouth is sure creating some big shoes for those mildcats to fill, and I am afraid by the time the game rolls around, you will have them too big for them to fill. My point is, you are predicting blowouts and not just wins. If the mildcats do beat Silsbee, but say by just 3 points, then your mouthy predictions would be wrong. Look, I really don't have a problem with you predicting them to win, it's just the manner of which you say how they are going to win and by how much. That's what leads people to not take you seriously and consider you Kirbyville's town clown. You know, like the goof on the Andy Griffith Show, Earnest T. Bass.
