Special teams were very special for Gunter. As about as good as you can get. Particularly the punting.

Some of you folks may remember a member of this site that went by Dickie V. Walter Yates Jr. suddenly passed away this morning. Walter was currently the head basketball coach at Texas College. He has been a head basketball coach at several high schools as well. Was an assistant to Boutte when Ozen won state championship. Dickie was a member here for several years. Always kept the basketball forum stirred up. I just spoke to him two days ago. Going to miss my friend. Walter was 50 years old. Prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

Not at all. But they haven't digressed either. At least not rapidly like some have suggested. Season isn't over yet. Surely one game doesn't make a season.

I wasn't trying to downgrade the BC team. I think they are a good team, not great. I think they have a very good program, not great. My comments were mostly about the poster and his criticism of the coach. Stating the program was going down hill fast. I don't see that happening. As to why I commented about the record being very similar to last year. If anything, BC is doing just as well as last year at this time. Hasn't digressed at all. Sorry you took my comments as negative.

Talk about an important drive coming up for Malakoff.

I am not so sure you can say he played well considering he was 9-23 passing for 93 yards and 2 INT's. Also had -13 yards rushing on 9 carries. (yes I know sacks are considered rushes in HS) From a statistical stand point, that's not playing well. But, Gunter defense had a whole lot to do with those stats. He definitely has potential, that's for sure.
