Silsbee started basketball last week. Played 5A #17 Port Arthur Memorial. Will play two other 5A state ranked teams this week in #8 Beaumont United and #21 Lufkin. Interesting that Silsbee's first three games this season are against 5A #17, 5A #8 and 5A #21. Also will face 5A #6 Beaumont West Brook in two weeks then play in YMBL later that week. The week before the Tigers will face 5A Texas High and TAPPS 4A #2 St. Thomas Episcopal. Tough tough first three weeks for Silsbee.

Our local 6A district that we cover here swept their Bi-District opponents. North Shore, Atascocita, Summer Creek and Kingwood all won their 1st Rd. games.

I agree. I really thought they would have brought pressure against HF. I was really surprised they sat in a zone basically the whole game.
