  1. Yes, he transferred from West Brook. Had to play JV last year do to transfer rule. He may not start immediately because being out with injury, but he will eventually start. Before his injury in last playoff football game, he was expected to be one of Silsbee's starting five. That came from the coaching staff. He proved himself during JV play last year. Lot's of coaches in district said he was the best JV player in the district last year. He will make a significant difference when he returns.
  2. It's historical how good the SEC is in basketball this year. Then we have baseball next.
  3. All I think are pretty smart bets. I went this route and also parlayed. Got to make back some of that money lost on quarterfinals. I know, I know. Don't chase lost money.
  4. Here are the games for Friday/Saturday pickems for this week: (must have picks posted by 6pm Friday) Dayton at Crosby (-12) Splendora at Kingwood Park (-8) (-3) Barbers Hill at Nederland (-15) Beaumont United at PN-G PA Memorial at Beaumont West Brook (-7) (-16) Bridge City at Jasper LC-M at Silsbee (-22) (-5) WO-S at Lumberton Liberty at Hamshire-Fannett (-23) (-24) Huffman at Tarkington Livingston at Shepherd (-3) Woodville at Diboll (-6) Pollok Central at Central Heights (-7) Anahuac at Orangefield (-24) (-17) Buna at Warren East Chambers at Kountze (-29) Anderson-Shiro at Coldspring (-8) (-14) Onalaska at Trinity (-5) Chireno at Woden (-7) Shelbyville at San Augustine West Hardin at Big Sandy (-3) Sabine Pass at Evadale (-17) (-38) Brookeland at Spurger (-9) Summer Creek at North Shore (-4) Humble at Kingwood
  5. Channelview at Atascocita 7pm Goose Creek Memorial at Humble 7pm North Shore at CE King 7pm Kingwood at Summer Creek 7pm
  6. Final San Augustine 63 Corrigan 31 Colmesneil 27 Chireno 68
  7. Silsbee won't see Yates, Washington, Stafford or Huffman in the playoffs. All will go DI. Silsbee will go DII. Wheatley will be their main opposition. But Silsbee will need to worry about all opponents.
  8. I agree with the arena setting. Can cause poor shooting. I was told this was the case last night. But Vidor just went 5-0 in a bigger size type gym at East Chambers tourney. Beat 4A #5 ranked LaMarque twice, 3A #17 East Chambers and 2A #3 Evadale in that setting. I saw all four of those games and Vidor shot it very well. IMO, fouling on the three point shot was the killer. I have seen WO-S shoot the three ball. There was a 85-90% chance that shot wasn't going in.
  9. I tend to agree with you BUT, the word is spreading through the coaching ranks that most do not want to deal with the current admins (Supt) at BH. That is a real thing and not just coach banter.
  10. I thought he went back to JV
  11. Silsbee fans need to get used to the Tigers not routinely blowing out their district opponents. This Silsbee team is simply not as good as the teams of the past 15 years and there's nothing wrong with that. They are still a very good team. This team is still very capable of winning all their district games no matter if it's by 1 or by 50. That's all that matters. Just be happy with the fact that this team is continuing the district win streak and has a good shot at a deep playoff run. The Tigers don't have to win every game by 30 or it's considered a loss. Geeez
  12. Correct. Silsbee was not missing anyone that has played this season.
  13. Final Trinity 73 Jasper 55 New Waverly 54 Alpha Omega 57
  14. And, are you suggesting that Buna will finish higher in district than EC or Orangefield?
  15. Buna is currently sitting tied for 5th.
