Just wanted to give a shout out to Vidor boys basketball team and Coach Joseph Hoyt. The Pirates come in at #21 in state in class 4A this week. It's their first state ranking since the Brian English days at Vidor. Very well deserved and most definitely earned. Congrats and keep up the great work!

He was a defensive coach on Thompson's staff. Was assistant principle, not former. Did not become former until he was hired as AD/HC.

We are starting our basketball pickems this week. Schedule of games will be Tuesday/Wednesday and then Friday/Saturday each week. So there will be two separate pickems each week. All the games will have point spreads attached. So when picking a team, you will have to consider the point spread. This is not just picking the winner. Team giving points will have to cover spread. In this pickem contest, there will be no pushes. For example, if the line is a -5, the team giving the points would have to win by 6 or more. You must have your picks posted by 6pm on Tuesday and 6pm on Friday.
