  1. I wish someone could film the Central/PAM game and post it on SETXsports.com, I would LOVE to see that game. After watching Central play Orangefield Monday night, I can truthfully say Memorial will have their hands full! Central is aggressive and plays fast ball. What type of game play does Memorial have?
  2. Good recap on the game in the Orange Leader. [Hidden Content]
  3. Hamshire Fannett girls won their playoff match 3-0.
  4. I heard somewhere else that BC girls won the first game and then lost the next three. Anyone know if that is correct. Hate to see that both our Orange County teams (LCM and BC) lost. Congratulations, girls on a great season and looking forward to next year!
  5. Realistically predicting the standings and supporting your team are two totally different things. You've got to look at talent, history, and depth. Orangefield has some talent, but no depth, and their history in the last few years only included one good run. I'm sure Bobcatfan4life would like nothing better than to see Orangefield shock everyone and place higher, and will root for them every game, as all Bobcat fans will.
  6. "Defect" does have negative connations, another word would have been better.
  7. Congratulations Brett! [Hidden Content]
  8. OUCH! A little harsh there. You might be right about us losing, though. I think we played Hamshire Fannett and they are the second place team in our district. You won't find much about volleyball in Orangefield, win or lose. Not many follow it and it is a shame because it is a great sport and we have a good coach. I usually get to the games, but had to miss last night so I don't know if we won or lost.
  9. Orangefield will take this game because they KNOW they are capable and they BELIEVE they will. They are in a great place, attitude wise. Not cocky, just determined and confident in their TEAM. Once again they are considered the underdogs, but that's okay. They won't worry about what anyone says they can't do, they'll just hit the field and get the job done. No flash, no smack, just good kids that love the game of football and play hard. GO BOBCATS!
  10. PLEASE people, it's LOSE not LOOSE! Lose= to fail to win Loose= teenage boys pants that fall below their rear end showing everyone their stinky underwear! (Couldn't help myself, it's been driving me crazy for some time! Okay, it's out of my system, you can go back to butchering the English language now! )
  11. BC doesn't give up and their record of coming back from behind shows this. Their defense is improving, but the offense hasn't really shown what they are capable of. They may be considered the underdog because of size (like my Bobcats), but they will definitely be there to play! The Cardinals take it in another close game. Turnovers - TAKE SOME, GIVE NONE! Go Cardinals!
  12. No one has mentioned the point that went on forever! Both teams hustled like crazy. I wish we knew how many times the ball was returned on that point. Had to be a record! BC ended up with the point. Great game for both teams. Good luck with the remainder of district play.

  17. Whew, BigRed75! Glad to know you are not ANGRY! As Shakespeare said "MeThinks Thou Protest Too Much!" (or something like that). That was one of the angriest posts I have seen in a while. This thread is beginning to remind me of those videos of parents brawling in Little League baseball while the poor kids look on in horror. Come on, let's just be happy for the ones who are named, no guarantees they will get this honor again. I am happy when ANYONE in Orange County is recognized. Just my two cents.
  18. Bleed Orange, no offense taken, I hope. I must admit I had a VERY good laugh at the thought of me being a board member. You couldn't be farther from the truth, but it probably did seem as though I was defending them. Far from it, I usually fall on the other side of the fence. I am like you, I feel as though our kids aren't prepared for life and college, only for the TAKS. Yeah, we are way off topic, but it's all relative. Anyway, I think our old gym is in a class all by itself, the history and nostalgia there cannot be matched by anything new.
  19. Bleed Orange wrote: Orangefield has the best gym. It was built in the old days, when things were build right. It has the best lighting and the best floor. Ask anybody that has played there. Maybe I am a little biais because I live here. The new Gym will not compare to the the old one. Because our administration and school board hires the cheapest contracter instead of the most qualiftied. The only thing they care about is the TAKS scores. Bleed Orange, I agree with you on most things, but surely you were not intending to imply that our administration is only interested in the academic side, and therefore wrong? School is all about academics. If you are just dissatisfied with the TAKS test fixation, I am with you on that. However, the state has put our administration in the hot seat on that matter. I like my sports as much as anyone, but I would rather see our school perform better in academic challenges and college than they do now. Our administration hasn't shown itself to spend money wisely, you are correct. But, the athletic department hasn't suffered monetarily. Did you know they are cutting out one of the vocational programs next year? Also, our math preparedness is atrocious! Anyway, I am not trying to criticize you, I too love the old gym and it remains to be seen whether or not the new one will live up to expectations. I just thought that perhaps you misspoke on the TAKS thing.
  20. WOS beat OF twice in district play. However, WOS has an outstanding post player (very tall, who beat us on the boards) that is not able to play now. If we can stop her replacement, we have an excellent shot at the win. No getting around it, our girls just don't have the height. What they do have is lots of GRIT and DETERMINATION. First things first, though. Gotta get by China Spring. Go get 'em Lady Cats!
