Hardin-Jefferson 57 China Spring 47/FINAL

I agree! But you know that fans complaining about refs comes with the territory lol. CS played a tough game. Their post is SOLID! CS also did not miss Ft’s, HJ missed 15 or so. -

Good win by HJ. The reason for all of the complaints about the refs was their inconsistencies and anticipation calls. Touch fouls on one end, which is fine as long as those calls are the same on the other end lol. Falling down doesn’t always mean you were fouled lol. One ref couldn’t even get up and down the court and considering the pace that’s always bad especially when he starts calling fouls in the paint when he isn’t even past half court yet smh. But on the other hand HJ needed to see some adversity. They continued to play for each other and helped each other thru. Great team win! On to the next one! -
Big difference in playing styles in this matchup and moving forward. China Spring guards must be able to handle the pressure consistently in order to make this interesting. HJ's defense against guards is ELITE! How deep is China Spring? Depth will be a big issue also especially with the pace that HJ plays at. HJ goal is 90+ possessions a game. HJ's ultimate goal is to play at a fast pace not to just score 100, it just has been working out like that lol.

Hardin-Jefferson 101 Silsbee 38/FINAL
$$Buckets$$ replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Girls Basketball
I was very impressed with Silsbee's young squad. Especially Botley! Her poise and court vision is exceptional! Oh and her change of pace into the crossover is elite! Yes the score was very lopsided but Botley played practically the whole game and was very poised. Bright future ahead for this young Queen, she has a very high ceiling and has next level potential. -
HJ vs Silsbee Hardin County Showdown!
$$Buckets$$ replied to HawkPride4life's topic in High School Girls Basketball
Biggest difference in this years HJ squad is their defense and their depth. They are averaging 25+ assists a game as a team, so they really share the ball also. If Silsbee's guards can handle the relentless pressure defense then it could be interesting. -

Silsbee 76 Lumberton 66/FINAL
$$Buckets$$ replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Girls Basketball
Silsbee will face probably Livingston or Splendora 1st round, then Yates or Navasota the 2nd. 3rd round will be against HJ. Lumberton will face Huffman 1st, then either Kashmere or Bellville 2nd. Not sure who their opponent will be 3rd round but it will be one out of Liberty, Orangefield, Royal and Worthing. -

Very physical game by both teams. Nobody likes the refs, but honestly refs dont shoot free throws, play defense in transition, make lay ups or rebound. And thats what beat Lumberton in this game. Silsbee jumped out to a big lead and Lumberton playing catch up had to deviate from their original game plan, but didnt rebound or shoot the ball well and missed probably 15+ ft's. Silsbee rebounded and scored in transition well and knocked ft's down. Good game by Silsbee. But looking ahead to the playoff picture tho this game could be HUGE! If you are a Lumberton fan maybe this loss wasnt so bad after all hmm........... -

What if all of that is being worked on EVERY game. Different defenses, different offensive sets, different tempos yes that can be done every game but sometimes tho it just is what it is and you are who you are. I havent seen one championship team change who they are! Now they may have different game plans but at the end of the day you are who you are and its the opposing teams job to beat it and vice versa. Quick question......would we be even debating this if this was a boys team? What these girls are doing is AMAZING! Averaging almost 100 ppg (1st in the USA) getting about 90 possesions a game! 5 players are averaging double digits, they are averaging almost 25 assists a game while only committing about 13-15 TO's a game. WOW! The grind is real over there at HJ and they start them young. You cant call yourself a basketball fan and not applaud what these young ladies are doing. Now if they dont finish the deal, then we will have something to talk about! In the meantime lets keep it moving. -

BH is a well coached team who did a very good job with running their offense and with spacing and back door cuts which kept the game manageable. There was some questionable calls on both ends of the floor. #3 only went to the FT line 3 times, she had a very good game offensively tho from the perimeter and finished the game with 33 pts. #22 for BH can flat out shoot the basketball! She finished with a team high 19 pts and #20 finished with 17. The foul count favored BH both halves (1st BH 6 HJ 11 2nd BH 7 HJ 15+) BH shot 28 FT's (19-28) and HJ shot 11 FT (8-11). The JV game was exciting with HJ missing 2 potential game winners at the buzzer! That is HJ's JV 2nd loss of the season. Great bball atmosphere for a girls bball game. -

Now on to this.....There was a Fairfield fan running up and down the stands with a Fairfield flag celebrating and the HJ fans loved it hell a HJ fan then in turn ran up the sideline also lol. Basketball is supposed to be a fun sport, this is not Hoosiers lol. And I don’t know what “Unc” did but I do know that said star player immediately came back and hugged EVERY Fairfield player, took full accountability for her actions and even apologized on social media. Hard to get mad at a KID who puts everything she has into a game that she loves and was disappointed at the outcome. Great life lesson! The kid is a CLASS ACT on and off the court......hell there is a reason why EVERY college in the U.S wants her and applauded her for her passion. Please don’t bring up the actions of a kid who has never been controversial or has never been regarded as anything other than a class act, when there are players or even fans who applaud when a player undercuts or fouls unnecessarily a star player smh. -

So let me get this straight.....you are dang near labeling the entire program behind a fan at a junior high game??? Hell let’s judge the program based on the little dribblers program while we are at it lmao. Have you been to a HJ varsity game?? To insinuate that the program is classless is classless. -

Duncanville vs Cypress Creek State Championship
$$Buckets$$ replied to OneChance's topic in High School Girls Basketball
Harmon's mistake was a costly one. But I too applaud the Coach for standing firm and showing that no one is bigger than the team. Nice season Cy Creek, it was a wonderful game. -
Big ups to WO-S and to what they have accomplished this season. Their coach has done a tremendous job getting the most out of his players. However, what has been setting HJ apart from others is their team defense. Yes HJ does have numerous weapons offensively but their ability to defend you multiple ways is top notch.

Clear Springs is loaded! They have a team FULL of shooters and are also led by a 6'0 junior do it all forward Niah Johnson. If Springs is shooting well they are very hard to beat.
