1. Nice post 89falcon.  You're a real classy guy.
2. Kirbyville has a state championship in basketball and football
3. Justin twine has improved exponentially over last year, so don't base your beliefs on that. Now, the offense is built around him. He can run, pass, scramble or hand off to his brother, who is a big time threat. SA may stop them, but it will be the biggest defensive challenge SA has seen all year.
4.
hemp will win this but, the district championship will be settled this friday nite CCvs SA. they have a defense. hemp will get  third spot.
I love these SA fans. First Hemphill would be 0-5 in district, then they might beat 1-4, beating only Deweyville, now they get the third spot (I assume losing to SA and CC). They just can't bear the thought that HH might have a decent team. Hemphill has the best athlete in the district and 11 kids on both sides of the ball who give 100% on every play. They might not win every game, but they're fun to watch and are giving the fans their money's worth.  It's also fun to watch the SA fans getting a little nervous.
5. A bunch! Don't know any stats, but I'm sure Justin and Jordan were both over 200. Justin had a 96 yd INT TD, and an app 50 td pass to Papania. Jordan had more TDs than Justin, I think. I know they still gave up 38 points, but the defense did look better. Made a few stops. Hemphill was only stopped twice, and once was in the final 2:00 when they were just playing out the clock. Also 3 for 3 on fourth downs. Nice game, Hornets.
6. 62-35 Groveton? Your fantasy life is very active.
7. Hemphill 38 Timpson 13. Bears did a good job containing Justin Twine rushing, but Jordan broke loose for some big yardage. Justin also threw for three touchdowns.
8. I think what really gets my attention with the comments on this board is the respect he has gotten from his opponents. West Sabine, Joaquin, Buna, and even the Garrison fans are saying nothing that could be construed as badmouthing Justin. Buna and Garrison beat us, Garrison pretty handily, but there's been nothing but praise and respect for this young man. That shows a lot of class from the fans, but also validates that he is something special. Of course, he's only a sophomore and the wheels could come off tomorrow, but I don't think so. I'm just looking forward to the rest of this year, and the next two.
9. Yep, he's the youngest of five boys who all went to school in Hemphill. Long time family there. I don't believe they're looking to leave, and certainly hope they're not. He is definitely fun to watch.
10. I think cougars ate his humble pie and made a classy post admitting his error. Lighten up
11. He could easily add 400 plus next week against Timpson. Just depends on whether the game gets out of hands and Coach Stanley pulls the plug. I might be surprised, but I don't think Timpson will be able to keep up with Hemphill's scoring.
12. Actually, Hemphill's defense was on the field a lot. Buna had a few long drives, then started scoring quick. Hemphill had no long drives. Usually five plays or less. Early turnovers by the Hornets was the difference in a tight game that was going to go to whoever had the ball last. Great game, listened on the radio, wish I could have been there.
13.
Thursday games: Vidor 17, Center 8 Hemphill over Center Hemphill 12, WOS 9 Silsbee 13, Livingston 3 (5) Jasper 10, Livingston 0 Friday games: Vidor 7, Silsbee 6 Silsbee 12, Huntsville 8 Huntsville vs. West Orange-Stark, 2:30 p.m. Livingston vs. Center, 5:00 p.m. Jasper vs. Hemphill, 7:30 p.m.
Looks like the smallest school in the tourney is making some noise. Way to go Hornets.
