1. i'm baseball buddy. America's Pastime. The greatest game on Earth.
2. and then there is flopping huh. That makes basketball the hardest. You have to be a great actor and athlete. ;)
3.

Well, at least untill basketball season get here, right?  ;D
Blasphemer!
You're right. Us fans of a real sport like baseball have a tear in our eye today.
4. What initially and still upsets me is this thread should be nothing but congratulating coach Smalley. Period. If you're in OF pick up a leader tomorrow. I have a piece on the state of OF and coach's role in it. Change your ways some of you bobcats. This split OF is not the OF which has always been so highly respected. It's darn sad if you ask me

Yet make a mistake or do something not in line with the popular vote and you get run out of town. And people wonder what is wrong with the world today. LOL
And you are suprised??  ;D ;D ;D
Sadly not a single iota.

7. I apologize for banning Bobcat. I actually did not mean to. I was looking through his profile and was explaining the process to someone. I did not mean for it to go through. I am going to undo it right now and once again do apologize for the mistake to everyone.
8. There was no taking sides on my part actually. A quick glance at the forum rules shows: 18 ) The bashing of any particular coach, player, referee, etc will not be tolerated. This includes issues involving their personal lives, coaching/playing style or performance, past experiences, etc. Discussion over.
9. A stand up guy gets his first AD job so why not save the junk for later. Let the people who want to wish him well do so. I think you're taking this a lil too serious my man. Who is sad by comparing a person to hitler on a message board? Lol dry your eyes. I'm far from evil
10. I'll say this, as long as Im an admin posts degrading a man who has given as much to the youth of OC as Josh has will not be tolerated. Coach Smalley has and will continue to teach the OF kids far more than x's and o's. This has zero to do with the past and 100% to do with the future. If I had a son and they went to OHS I would feel privileged for Smalley to coach him. OF could go 0-10 next year yet the lessons and knowledge they gain from Smalley will exceed any playoff appearance. So this is public warning on anyone bashing this man who is putting himself out there and fulfilling a dream of his.
11. It is a very far stretch to blame Saturday's loss in any way on the shoulders of Lemoine. Lemoine did his part for well over a majority of the game and until costly errors, he had held the Rockets to a single run. Guidry had great playoff numbers and I would be confident in either guy taking the hill. The fact is Robinson is No. 1 for a reason. They find a way each game to get the job done and never panic. The fact is Coach Landry had a decision to make and neither choice was the right or wrong choice. Both pitchers would have done their job. Lemoine had one bad game all year! That is quite an accomplishment and is to be praised, not picked apart. We will never know too if he would have corrected himself against Huffman and still won the game dominated the rest of the way. Landry was forced since it was one game to make the change and Guidry did an outstanding job no hitting the Falcons the rest of the way.
12. Some special talented players ended their bc careers today. Thanks for the memories to some great kids.
13. Retired I do value your side of the equation. I honestly do and respect it very much. I believe the real problems for the reporters is after the game is when their job truly begins. I know at The Leader we really have only Van and I help as much when I can. Van has to write his game story, fix the photographers pix, design the page update web. And throw in the drive back to office which eats up deadline time. We do try to call coaches. We also are a majority of the time unaware when a game goes final and a coach is done with talking to the team and all else he does. Factor in games run nearly til 10 on average and our deadlines don't stretch too far past it. There really is almost this auto pilot you go on simply trying to get the page designed and to the press. To imply reporters in this area don't do there jobs I don't respect though. Our area is very important 95% of local media take care of HS sports first and on a pretty darn good level. The 5% I'll keep to myself but will say its not even my so-called competitor (I don't see it that way) Beaumont Enterprise. We all do the best we can. I do know in several sports Van and myself have talked with coaches the day of a game and asked them to call in and got nothing. Then to have same coaches call in when one kid does something special. That is fine and warranted but how about the other games? Even in a 12-2 loss someone's son scored and that's special to his family. It works both ways though I agree but I wanted you get a feel that our night starts after the game. Gabe
14. Adam Dunn in new caney isn't bad
15. Average says the next one is his lol
16. I'd flip for home and home if I were the Cards. What's there to lose and proves to your guys we don't care where game is, we can play with anyone. Plus if get the home game - even better.
17. My list of knowing kids stats would be shorter and string of cuss words be longer. I'm considering this lol. Man what guts but I bet that coach calls in next year to the reporter
18. There can only be one state champion each year and just because a team doesn't win it all the coach and his program are failures.
19. You called it like lol. Here is my take: BC played liked a team that is used to playoff pressure every year. They stayed calm and silently waited to start getting the runs back one at a time. Hayden Guidry can't be applauded enough. His pitching held Huffman at five runs. Jake Lemoine simply had a bad night. Msg to Jake: it happens to someone everyday. I've had plenty of them and learned from them all. Huffmans coach was right in wanting one game. Anything almost happened. But a team filled with experience, talent and  Unmatched determination simply did what was expected - they won
20. I wish there was nothing but one game series.
21. You are right. Coach Stephenson just text
22. We need a new set of these stats. Today I became real interested in web stats. Stupid stupid newspaper. "If you want to go to bed every night with nothing on your mind, read the....." Todd and Mike know which paper I speak of
23. Great season by Cats. Very young team which has lost a lot of talent over last few years. A playoff trip is not something many saw in Orangefield's future at the start of the year. Good job coaching staff and players.
