Nevala didn't get stranded as he was the only score for Nederland!! Just saying  ;) Consistant bats have got to come around for Nederland or they will be out of the run for good!! Great game by both teams but PNG just seems to be wanting it more right now!! Best of luck in their run for the sole district title!!

So every team knows Nederlands strategy of using a #1 and a #2 pitcher?!? No shocker there...it just makes it that much easier for other teams to try to put a wrench in the so called "game plan". Now, if they used more than a 1 and 2 pitcher, Nederland wouldn't have any reason for worrying or complaining.  And let's be real....EVERY school bends the rules to "help" their team so ya just gotta suck it up and move on!!!! EVERY school!!

Nederland sophomore won 12-2 in 5 innings. Game ended early due to run rule! Andrew Martinez pitched for Nederland and did a GREAT job!! Don't know about JV. Ned was down last I had heard. At this time of the year it's very common for players to travel from Varsity to JV during tournaments, but not from Varsity to Freshmen. Sounds like someone got some bad information. Not a big deal but it's what happened. This came from not only the Bridge City parents (of some of those players) that were sitting right next to us but also from one of the actual players themselves who is friends with our family. Those players didn't play the whole game but just the first couple of innings.  I never claimed or even came close to saying they were ON the team but just noticed that YOU had incorrectly stated that no one from their V had pitched at a lower level than JV and that simply wasn't correct. No where did I indicate that BC uses the same pitchers...you came up with that all on your own! I just needed to correct you when you were wrong! That's all! No biggie!!!

Mitchell had 12 strikeouts in 6 innings!! That is AWESOME!! I agree that it was the POY by Jordan Woods in right field with that catch that PNG thought was out :) hee hee....Proud of all the boys for pulling this one out!! I have to believe though that PNG knew it was coming  ;) Keep it up Dogs!!

Wow....from the mouth of babes! He surely did speak some words of wisdom and I'm going to make sure my teen aged boys read this essay. His outlook and attitude is amazing and he seems wise beyond his years. I pray God blesses Luke with his future and when He does, that Luke remembers to give ALL the glory to Him!! I think it's a false ASSumption to think that no one cares about jv..any of us with jv players would beg to differ and I would most certainly hope the coaches would care. If your attitude is any indication as to how the varsity "mentality" is being groomed...then yes our programs are screwed!! JV is the future for any program and people should care!! Some aren't "fine with their son being on jv" but again its not the parents call now is it? If you're not interested in any JV team than might I suggest staying off any sub varsity thread!?!?  ???

I had heard it was an interesting game to say the least. Gabriel WAS sick and easily relied on his strong defense backing him up. I don't think these previous posts were negative but they certainly explain some of the frustrations being dealt with at NHS. I appreciate the support and confidence Gabriel does have from most people in his circle....his coach did compliment him on his game after the fact too. Could some things have ben done differently? of course but nothing you can change about the past! Luckily most of these boys know how to move on!!!

[/quote] We were a little surprised too...as was Gabriel  :-\  (he wasn't any where near a high pitch count either tappedout  ;)) I do agree with some of what you've said but oh well...whatchya gonna do? Gabriel will just keep doing what he loves to do and thats play at the highest level of competition he can. There's lots I could say but I don't wanna get my kid in any trouble ;)  this is my first post on here and it might still cause trouble for him but I couldn't keep quiet any more  :P  He IS playing with a VERY talented group of boys that with the right coaching decisions...better go far!
