Evadale contained their 6'3 Freshman pretty good and their point guard, but couldnt stop the outside shooting of Lee and Dugat. Zavalla is a very good team and will make some noise in the playoffs. Game was close all the way was 46-43 at one point in the fourth, Zavalla went up by 7 and Evadale had to start fouling. The Freshman is going to be a very good player. Good warm up game for both teams. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.

Evadale has played Starks for years. There is no shame in losing to them. They have a great program and are very good. They can play with any 1A to 3A in our area. The Bussell kid is a smaller version of Plumley at Lamar. She is very good athlete.; and softball, forget about it. ;D

Worth mentioning: The Lady Rebels wrapped up their 3rd straight district championship Saturday with a win over Sabine Pass. They have not lost a District game since the 07-08 season. 31 district wins in a row. Congratulations to all of you and what a pleasure it is to watch a team that really believes there is no "I" in Team. A special congrats to seniors Sierra Griffin,Haleigh Conner,and Ashton Clark. Ever notice in warmups how many actually even shoot free throws. But that 3 line is a busy place.  Very frustrating. Orangefield isnt the only team Ive watched this year that has a terrible time with free throws. Its not coaching its the players taking time on their own to practice them..........Check out how many close games are lost by 2 and three pts. and a team misses 10 to 12 free throws. Like I said a lost art. ::)

they are really playing well right now. All are contributing and believe in themselves and trust their coach. It is the making of a really good team. They know what they want to do and they just have to play one game at a time. Last nite: Seago  22pt. Franklin  16pt.  11 Reb. Griffin 10pt. Jackson 9pt Everyone scored in the game. I have seen this team several times this year. Saw them in Silsbee Ty. and Warren Ty. What is so amazing about them is they start 1 Senior 3 Soph. and a Jr.. They can compete from 1 to 3A not saying they can beat them all but they will give you a game. Very gritty and well coached. I think the coach has been there for over 10 years. Worth a look see for small school.... They beat Big Sandy last nite 57-41 Heard Franklin had 27pts. and about 13 reb. and she is a soph.

I for one do not like 3 referees for a game. You are going to miss some calls even with 3 refs, so here is my idea; lets go back to 2 refs a game. There was nothing wrong with the game then and nobody would object to just two refs doing a game. The more people tinker with this game the worse it gets. Look what they have done to football. JMO Dont want to hear quicker,stronger,and better athletes; go tell that to Michael Jordan,Oscar Robertson, or or Bill Russell they played the game with two refs and no problems. Besides referees can only please 50% of the fans on any given nite ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D My coach always said be 20 points ahead and it wont matter. ;)

Just posting scores of games would be nice for all of us in the area. Some watch A,AA,AAA,AAAA,5A would just like to know what other teams scores and records are.

have only seen Orangefield play this year havent seen HJ so no prediction. But with HJ being rated #19(TABC) this week I would think it will only fuel the fire of Orangefield. Both programs have been well respected for quite a while, probably most consistent winners along with Evadale in 1A-3A This should be a great game. Hope everyone enjoys it. I think the gym will be raining 3's ;D
