Sorry, Hate to keep doing this but Big Sandy only led once in this game that was in early 1st quarter 3-2 They got within 2 late in 4th but never took the lead. Largest lead by Lady Rebs in the 3rd when they went up by 15. Big Sandys 3 pt shooting and lady rebs poor free throw shooting kept Big Sandy in this one. But win is a win.

We went thru the hair thing back in the 60's believe me long hair was in....... Never was an issue in school, if you wanted to play any sport it was crew cut and guess what those who wanted to play got a crew cut. I say let the young man make his own decision. Life is about choices, let him learn early what that choice will mean and what is more important to him. Their are consequences to our decisions. Not going to play basketball because of a haircut, you have got to be kidding me. Say this three times to yourself... Im not playing ball because of my hair......................... REALLY>>>> Where are you're priorities And the military idea is you all are the same and treated the same and you will work together and be a team. What the heck is wrong with that. The military hair cut isnt to humiliate you it is to let you know you will all be one, together you can conquer anything. I think the greatest generation really believed that because thats why we all get to play and enjoy freedom. All because of our hair................................................................ I think I mentioned in my post about the batter getting hit caused a dead ball. Thanks shackbully I guess this one could go on forever. What about seeing a bleeding player would play stoppage come under the blood rule?

Football is now looking at injury as being serious, look at the rule changes on leading with helmut and head shots. Baseball being hit in the face as a batter is dead ball and play stopped, I know it is by rule but kind of makes sense. Football usually the injured is laying on the field after play is over but only because play is usually away from injury but again the play stops when ball carrier or receiver is down. I know it sounds like I am making your point but again we are talking about kids not the pros. Pros are now demanding better judgement for their safety, so why not for our kids. I know they worry about faking injuries to stop play but I think blood visible to an official is good reason to stop play. Again I understand what you are saying about rules, Im just saying that sometime the rulebook and human nature dont go hand in hand. I know OldRef and I know he would do the same thing again no matter what rule book says. His heart is bigger than any rulebook. JMO

I am going with the old ref on this one. I know what the rule says but you know what sometimes a matter of a few seconds can make a difference in an injury and not knowing how serious the injury and seeing blood I think if it was my daughter the old ref made the right call, maybe not according to the book rules but according to human nature rules he did the right thing...I hope you are still reffing when when my grand daughter plays highschool ball old ref..... Would you have really cared about a layup if it saved the girl from serious injury. There is more to life than two points ::) ::) ::) ::)

I think I have found what the officials were trying to explain and it looks like to me they want to go back to the players actually reporting in to the scoring table. It just wasnt explained properly. If this is the case I can understand that but the officials will have to require it done because as of now most just wave the players in, most arent worried about reporting in to the scorer. Waiting on OLDREF he will have the answer. Here is what I found in the manual that I believe the officials were referring to: Major Editorial Changes 3-3-1a NOTE; 4-34-2 Clarified that when a substitute is not properly reported, the players in the game at the conclusion of the quarter/ when the time-out was granted shall begin play for the new quarter/after the time-out. During an intermission, all team members are bench personnel for the purpose of penalizing unsporting behavior.

Can you tell me about a rule that I was told at Tuesdays game that would now be enforced. Players who start the game must start the second quarter as well. Players who finish the third quarter must start the fourth quarter. Is this really a rule and will it start to be enforced by the UIL and if so will the scorer be responsible and what will the penalty be for not conforming to the rule.................... I cant believe this is happening...................... Can you help me out :o
