  1. Do tell And we need those in Lumberton to be on the lookout today? Who is wearing the Columbia blue and red tie at the gas station? Who is being escorted around campus?
  2. The formula I am referring to has nothing to do with offensive scheme. It is the formula of putting his best athletes on offense. Vidor traditionally does not do this, unless it is a Montana Quirante, or other similar type player, who they play on both sides of the ball. But Vidor's defense is the priority, in PNG, offense is the priority.
  3. Now does PNG need to play some of those "athletes" on both sides of the ball, probably. But, what Faircloth does is a lot closer to a successful formula than what Vidor does, IMO.
  4. They can differ all they want to, compare Vidor's results and PNG's. PNG is in the playoffs every year, Vidor would kill to be a consistently ( playoffs 11 out of 12 years under Faircloth) successful program. PNG is averaging 8 wins a season over that 12 year period, that is with one 2-8 season included. How many times did Vidor beat PNG when they were in the same district?
  5. So true, but to think you can put all your best football players on defense and think you are going to win is asinine. Yes, you have to get stops on defense to win, but you put great effort kids on defense, you put kids that are always going to be in the right spot, you put kids on defense that are always going to do what they are told and do it with intensity and aggressiveness. You put your best athletes on offense. Regardless of the scheme or system that you run.
  6. Can't believe there are no rumors floating around about who is interviewing.
  7. I guess those stats kind of debunk the idea that defense win's championships.
  8. Day 1, P1 - Still have my original card....... The original HardLine was the best.
  9. Definitely not the same without the HardLine........
  10. Any news? Anybody seen a suit wearing unidentified individual walking the halls? And you are correct, it is a process, rarely do miracles happen in year one.
  11. Good for them. Now, do you feel bad for the rest of the team, of course you do, but one of your own caused this and the coach allowed it to happen by allowing the him to play. What's worse is it all could have been avoided if the coach that walked him off the field would have simply escorted him to the lockerroom immediately.
  12. How do you justify not holding the Coach accountable? Especially after finding out that this is not a one time incident? That this is a repeat of behavior that occurred in another sport.
  13. In some places the Coach would be fired on the spot, and rightfully so. If you aren't coaching it, then you are letting it happen. Ultimately, the behavior of any player, especially on the field of play, is the responsibility of the coach and a direct reflection of the coach.
  14. I agree, it should be an honor that is earned. Too many coaches don't care, and they don't want to deal with the upset parents. Too many coaches don't care, and they don't want to go to the trouble of actually making a decision on who is better. Too many coaches don't care, and they don't want to upset coaches in their district by not voting for certain kids. Too many coaches don't care, and they think just because a kid was on the district championship team that he was the better player.
  15. I've seen defensive backs get beat worse on plays where they were paying attention. It wasn't like he was standing all by himself in the end zone with enough time to eat a sandwich before the defender got there.
  16. First question, is Lumberton an upper class, upper middle class or a lower middle class community? Not sure what the financial situation is in Lumberton ISD, but I would think they would be able to pay a coach better than they do. Second question. does the community just not support athletics as a whole, or is it the fact that historically they have been a baseball school and football is the red headed step child?
  17. It is far from being over. WOS showing life, if CS gets completely conservative WOS could turn this around.
  18. Turnovers, penalties, this one may get ugly in a hurry. Don't blame you.
