No such thing as an overpaid coach. Every coach earns every dime he makes and if somebody is willing to pay the asking price then........ Now, by Allen or Allen want-to-be's are you referring to winners???? Because I would think everybody's goal is to be a winner.

You mean they weren't doing near a good of job recruiting in Allen before TW got there? All recruiters are not created equally.

You are DEAD right. That Allen Eagles team that won 3 SC's in a row may very well have 3 - 1st round draft picks and will have 4 players drafted for sure.

I'm sure this job will garner some attention from some area Coordinators. This is the kind of job where I would really like to see the Enterprise file a FOI request so we could see the candidates.

Card is not a prototypical Tom Herman QB. RJ is a whole lot closer to what Herman looks for.

Sometimes you are a better coach of a sport that you weren't quite as talented in because you had to work harder at being good and actually found more ways to compete than on just talent alone. Not saying this is the case with Joubert, just trying to make a point. Kountze could get a really good football coach, even without the AD title and money, but it will have to be a Coordinator looking for an opportunity to get his head coaching career started. Now, if he comes in and does a good job and gets things going in the right direction, he will be hard to keep without the AD title and money.

Worst 6A job posting EVER. But, it is a perfect posting if you already know who you want to hire and you are trying to keep quality applicants away. Whole lot easier to justify a questionable hire if the competition is slim and none.

That is the BEST way to do it. And, the RIGHT way to do it. However, SETX schools are seemingly very slow to pull the trigger. Just curious why?

Sometimes you win BECAUSE of coaching. Sometimes you have to win IN SPITE of coaching.

I've always been curious why SETX is so slow to pull the trigger on replacing Head Football Coaches. I'm sure there are at least half a dozen Schools that know they are not bringing back their HFC and yet no action has been taken yet. I think informing a coach as early as possible is a much more humane way to go about the process. Rather than waiting until jobs start to fill up.
