  1. And there go the playoffs.....
  2. I think we were talking about the TOTAL program, not just Varsity. But regardless, there are many Baseball fundamentals that High School players are unaware of. Fundamentals of the game are rarely taught anymore.
  3. There are about 7 people in all of Sour Lake that care about football. For the rest of the community it is just an excuse to have cheerleaders, a marching band and a drill team.
  4. Soon and very soon And they were a hybrid offense last year, fluctuating back and forth between spread concepts and wing-t concepts.
  5. LG, self development is a great thing, talent is a great thing. But, the job of the COACH is to coach, and coaching involves a multitude of things. If a coach is not teaching TEAM, fundamentals, discipline, strength, endurance and HOW to play the game then the coach is failing the program. I'm not saying this is happening at GCM, this is just a general assessment of coaching in general.
  6. I know this question is not directed at me, but I would like to answer. IMO, regardless of the sport, in High School there need to be continuity of coaching. Every coach (including the high and might head coach) needs to be coaching as many kids as possible. 1.There needs to be fundamentals taught at every level. 2. There needs to be a mental approach to the game being taught. 3. There needs to be strength training. 4. There needs to a concept of TEAM, a philosophy or an approach to the game, that is preached from the top down that ALL players can buy into. This is not about wins and losses this is about teaching kids RESPECT for the game and HOW to play the game properly.
  7. Lots of assumptions in this thread. It would be nice to have some cold, hard, facts.
  8. Kids want to be coached, not demeaned. Big difference between getting on a kid for not being coach-able and putting a kid down. Criticize the performance and question the effort all you want, that is what coaches are supposed to do. Make the players better and if they aren't willing to get better then good riddance.
  9. Who's on the bump?
  10. And who's fault is that? Why are they quitting?
  11. Or winning State Championships......
  12. Your kids may be but you are not, Tuesday was the day of testing
  13. There is actually a "curfew" for all school sponsored activities the day PRIOR to State Assessment days.
  14. Congratulations to him, but more importantly congratulations to PAM!!
  15. Where did Coach Bass go? I know he had applied for a number of Head Coaching jobs, did he finally get one?
  16. Any word on who is getting this job?
  17. Who's pitching tonight?
  18. You my sir need serious help. But, he was referring to Stratford not Brenham. Brenham has and always will have great fans.
  19. I think Nacogdoches is looking for a week 1 scrimmage.
  20. I think that (29 total) is more runs than.......... 1. the football team scored in a game 2. the basketball team scored in any half
  21. Surly he was just referring to during the period, doing football related drill work and beginning the implementation of his offensive and defensive schemes. But, you never know with TAPPS guys.
  22. I'm sure Coach Morgan appreciates the support, and I'm absolutely sure that Coach Morgan would encourage you to re-read your comments and edit them as needed.
  23. Thanks WOSgrad, we all appreciate you diligence in finding out the truth.
  24. Sure, ok, a guy that played in PA, went on to play in college, on a scholarship and he using this as a stepping stone? SAF85, you obviously have an ax to grind. Just go away Bro. This was the best hire, he wants to be here, he wants to win championships and he will promote the kids. Take your agenda a go. Brooks didn't even want the job Dude.
