  1. Both teams averaging over 50 points a game, probably going to be a shoot-out.
  2. Just for those that don't know, in 6 man if you kick it it is worth 2 points, if you run it or throw it is only 1 point.
  3. It is simple economics, whoever brings in the revenue deserves the reward. Saban, and Alabama football, bring in more revenue to the University that any other entity other that student tuition.
  4. You Sir are insane and asinine, College Football at places like Alabama, Texas, aTm and other such institutions pays for higher learning. Many programs outside athletics are funded in large part by the revenue and increased student population from Football.
  5. I was just thinking the same thing, WOS has ZERO problem with the travel. And I know Katy has waon at AT&T as well as Lake Travis and a slew of others. Anybody who complains about this is just making an EXCUSE, but what do we expect, it is the nature of society.
  6. That is the reason I said HOPE. I know Coach T and his staff are not and with it being a State Championship game, I would think the players aren't either.
  7. What really matters is the NRG experience SUCKS!!! I would much rather make the 4 hour drive to AT&T than the 2 hour drive to NRG to play a game. AT&T takes care of the players, coaches, media and fans and creates a game EXPERIENCE. NRG opens the doors and says "here you go, go play your game."
  8. You obviously have no earthly idea how many hours a HFC puts in on a yearly basis to his JOB. He may make over $100,000 a year, but he earns it. And I can guarantee you that if the HFC is making over $100,00 then so is the campus principal. And I sure don't see that Principal teaching any classes. Administrators make more money, that is the way of the economy. The longer you stay in any line of work, the more you move up the chain of command, the more money you make. Just like in the military, the grunts do all of the heavy lifting and make the least amount of money. The Generals have the six figure salaries.
  9. Not a huge fan of PG, but you obviously have not seen PG up close and personal. They are big, but they can move too and they will do it for 4 quarters. I really hope WOS is not sleeping on the Hawks or this could be a rude awakening. PG throws the ball much better than Kennedale did at the time WOS played them. The Mustangs will have to defend the entire field, because PG will stretch you horizontally with the speed sweep and vertically with the play action passing game.
  10. This topic wear me out. It comes up every year, and we hear the same old sad arguments. All of the above is the correct answer. Travel has an impact on the game, especially if the TEAMS are not taught how to travel, have not prepared for the travel time, don't have some plan in place that has been proven to get a team ready to play when they travel. This is called PREPARATION and is a part of the coaches job. Quality of opponent has a HUGE impact on mistakes, always seems that here are more penalties and more turnovers when you play superior opponents, that is not a coincidence. The Dallas area has an advantage over South Texas because they have communities that have stayed independent and kept their "local" school boards and leaders in place. Frisco and Fort Worth area schools have followed the multi (4 or more) high schools in one District approach like the Houston area and have seen very little success.
  11. I think the Head Coach has to nominate them. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the AP sends a nomination form to all of the Head Coaches in the State, with a place to list Stats and accomplishments.
  12. PG is a better version of Kennedale because they throw the ball better that Kennedale does. PG is well coached, but they do not have the staff that Coach Thompson does. Both teams have great defenses. WOS has the experience factor. This very well could be the best game of all the State Championship contest. Can't wait to see this one.
  13. The whole problem is you cant do this in a vacuum, you have to take in the entire picture.
  14. I think that is as good a prediction as I have seen. I think Madisonville goes to what you have listed as District 8. But in reality, I think you have the District 8 and 9 numbers wrong. The Center, Jasper, Shepherd, Tarkington, Huntington district will be District 8 and play in Region 2. That is just my opinion.
  15. I agree it is probably about money, but for the first time in a long time in Beaumont ISD they seem to be doing something that is for the greater good for the entire district and community, not just a select few. If they consolidate, it SHOULD increase the quality of leadership in all areas of the school, it SHOULD increase the availabilityof programs to all students, it SHOULD improve the quality of the education and it SHOULD improve the competitiveness of ALL athletic programs.
  16. With long, different colored rubber bands.
  17. The DEFENSE is what is expected at WOS. I'm not sure the coaching staff has the confidence in the OFFENSE to cut it loose. They are worried about the big mistake/turnover coming back to bite them in the butt. IMO, the big play ability is there if needed.
  18. Don't we all. WOS has what it takes to win, a great defense and a ball control offense.
  19. #3 Newton Eagles (12-0 5-0) 41 Waskom Wildcats (9-4 5-1) 20 #2 West Orange Stark (11-0 4-0) 37 Salado Eagles (12-1 4-1) 15 #3 Cuero Gobblers (12-0 5-0) 30 #6 Wimberley Texans (12-1 5-0) 28 Melissa Cardinals (12-1 5-0) 24 Pleasant Grove Hawks (12-0 5-0) 42 #2 Katy Tigers( 11-0 7-0) 63 North Shore Mustangs( 9-3 6-1) 35 #1 Carthage Bulldogs (13-0 6-0) 70 Henderson Loins (11-2 4-2) 7 #1 Allen Eagles (13-0 7-0) 49 Trinity Trojans (11-2 7-0) 42
  20. To do that they will have to purchase a couple, maybe 3, homes and tear them down. But yes, that is the perfect solution to the problem. However, they also need new lighting and a new playing surface.
