Westbrook did a heck of a job with a very young Jasper team. They were one of the few teams to beat WOS last year, and they did it twice. Jasper also gave a very talented Silsbee squad a very good matchup in the first round. Jasper along with BC should be one of the favorites in Region 3 along with perennial power Robinson. Not sure why he would leave one of the best facilities and a squad with most everyone back.

Orangefield picks up two BC assistants Lee Legate and Jake McDonald. Legate will do Baseball, while McDonald will be basketball HC.

Jason Keeney of BC moving from Cumby HC to Caddo Mills asst. Keeney also coached at HF and Nederland.

Robinson in the past decade has knocked out: BC (3 times) Regional Semis '11, '12, '16 LCM (Regional Final) '16 I think Orangefield is the last SETX Team to beat the Rockets in Regional Semis back in 2010, before losing to Jasper in Regional Finals.

Congrats to Kelly and Coach Neil! After seeing them in scrimmages I figured they would have a great shot to be there, although I didn't them struggling like they did throughout a good portion of the year. Go get em tomorrow!

Look at their runs allowed and that gives a pretty good indication of pitching and defense.

Districts 8 and 9 are the only other districts with more than 2 teams. District 8 - Godley, Alvarado, and Stephenville District 9 - Argyle, Sanger, Decatur District 22- WOS, Silsbee, BC, OF Three third place teams left: BC, Decatur, and Alvarado Three fourth place teams left: Orangefield, Gilmer, Stephenville Region three is only region that will not have at least one matchup where district winners go head 2 head, probably due to district 22 having consecutive sweeps.

Really wish UIL would flip the bracket so district foes would not face until the 4th and 5th rounds. Also think a double elimination regional tournament would be a lot of fun.

Don't think so, Silsbee was the favorite, but I knew it would be close ball games. Jasper is better than their record. They have lost a ton of close ball games, and bring nearly everyone back next year.

What was the biggest upset from week one of the playoffs in your opinion? For me it is Gilmer knocking off Carthage.
